He Is It.

Pairing: Abraham x Daughter/Son!Reader, Featuring Negan and The Survivors. 

Prompt: Abraham’s child ends up watching their father die. 

Warnings: Gore, angst, death, Negan being an a-hole, Season 7 spoilers.

Extra: Reader is gender neutral, so everyone can enjoy!

Everyone was shaking.  

Eugene looked like he was going to bust out sobbing. Sasha had a few stray tears running down her face. Rosita looked as if she was going to crack into a million pieces. Rick’s eyes were darting between Negan’s face and Lucille. Glenn was staring straight ahead of him, sweat dripping down his face like it was nothing. Maggie’s face was twisted in fear. Aaron turned his head away when Negan pointed his bat at him. Daryl’s hair was covering his face, but it was easy to tell he was tense. Michonne’s eyes were flickering between the bat and Rick. Carl had his mouth slightly agape, tears brimming his eyes.

Abraham was next to you, staring blankly at Negan. Abraham’s eyes followed Negan’s every move, but you remained staring blankly at Lucille. There was too much terror in your system for you to focus on anything else. Negan had been going around the semi-circle your group had made with Lucille, playing the “Eenie Meeny Miny Moe” game to decide who would get the punishment. Abraham had immediately stood up after it was suggested, and you mentally scolded you father. How he could always be willing to sacrifice himself, you would never know.

“-and.” Negan spoke, pointing the bat directly at Carl’s face. Your vision came back into focus and you turned your head to where Negan was. Rick’s eyes were now switching between Lucille and Carl, and you could’ve sworn you saw Rick scowl. 

“-you.” Negan’s bat was pointed at Eugene now.

“Are.” Lucille moved to Maggie. 

“Not.” Lucille was almost touching Aaron’s nose. 

Negan suddenly started swinging Lucille loosely by his side, but the bat was still out enough to tell who Negan was pointing at. Negan began to walk around the small circle, examining everyone on their knees. Your eyes suddenly started to brim with water; why would now be the time to cry? 

The bat went from Rick, to Daryl, to Aaron again, to Glenn, to Eugene, to Sasha, and even at you. 

Negan suddenly spun around and stopped in front of Abraham, and you could feel your heart stop in your chest. 

“It.” Negan smiled maliciously, his eyes turning to the group on the floor then to his people behind them. You looked at Abraham, but he didn’t look back. You frowned; your father was going to die and he wouldn’t even look at you. 

“Anybody moves, anybody says anything, cut the boy’s other eye out and feed it to his father.” Negan spoke quickly, his eyes still not leaving Abraham as your father stared back at him. Abraham suddenly turned his head to look at you, and you felt a tear slip down your cheek. Negan’s voice suddenly became muffled in your ears as you locked eyes with your father. 

“It’s okay.” Abraham whispered-it was so quiet you could barely hear him. “It’ll be okay.” You nodded your head slightly and felt another tear slip down your cheek. Sasha let out a sob and Abraham’s eyes didn’t move from his child’s. Abraham gave you a reassuring nod and turned back to Negan. 

“You can breathe, you can blink, you can cry.” Negan spoke, suddenly pausing. Abraham turned back to you and Rosita let out a sob. Abraham mouthed something at you and you nodded, knowing how his mouth could easily form the words ‘I love you.’ You made a small nod and felt your face starting to twist up in an attempt to hold in your tears.

“Hell, you’re already gonna be doin’ that!” Negan exclaimed, suddenly bringing Lucille above his head and bringing it down on Abraham’s head. Abraham’s eyes never left your’s until his head was on the ground from the force, and your entire body jumped and the sob that had been crawling up in your throat finally escaped. You had heard the crack of your father’s skull and he shakily rose up off the ground, various murmurs arising from the other Savior group members behind them. You hadn’t even noticed that Sasha had screamed and that Rosita was fully sobbing. 

“Oh!” Negan said happily, watching as Abraham lifted his head up fully. There was blood streaming down the left side of his temple, and you could vaguely see where his skull had cracked and skin was split. 

“Takin’ it like a champ!” Negan yelled in excitement. Abraham’s head turned to you again and he stared, his eyes starting to flutter shut. Abraham turned his face back to Negan, his body starting to sway as he fully stood on his knees. 

“Suck. My. Nuts.” Abraham said sharply, pausing after every word. You could tell it wasn’t a struggle for him to form the sentence-yout father had always been a fighter.

The bat suddenly struck Abraham’s head again and you gasped, jumping slightly at the sound of more cracking. You let out a sob and felt more hot tears run down your face. You let out a scream as Negan swung the bat again and again over Abraham’s unmoving body. Negan was smiling as he continued hitting Abraham’s disembodied head, and you were on all fours at this point, the sobs not stopping. 

Negan suddenly stopped, looking at his work. The only thing left that even made the body recognizable was the flecks of red hair in the mass of mashed up brain and blood. Negan suddenly swung the bat to the side to fling off some of Abraham’s blood, a string of it landing on your face. You shivered in disgust, not even meaning to, and placed your forehead down on the ground to continue sobbing. 

The only sounds were your cries, Sasha’s sniffling, and Rosita’s tears falling on the dirt. 

Your eyes suddenly turned up from the ground, looking up at Negan, then to Abraham. You felt as if you couldn’t look away from the gore. 

“Dad…” You whimpered out, closing your eyes tightly.

“Shit…” Negan started, staring at you in confusion. “Was he your father?” You looked up at him, forcing the sobs to stop crawling up your throat as tears continued to run down your face. You didn’t say anything, just simply staring blankly at the man who just killed Abraham. 

“Shit.” Negan said, and you could sense his sarcasm. “Well, I am truly sorry. Really. I am. I probably wouldn’t have done it if I knew you were his. I mean, come on! You look nothin’ like your old man.” 

You continued staring at him, not even noticing Daryl quickly rising up from the ground and punching Negan square in the jaw.
