Evil scientists calling heroes "nerds" while spending all their time in their basement doing wacky science always reeked with insecurity to me.
I know this sweet elderly open minded man. Sometimes I would play videogames and he would peek what I am doing and be curious. Once he saw me play tein.
„What is this guy?“
Since I didn't want to go throught the whole „oh he's a heavily deformed person who uses his own decomposing blood as ink“ I said „um… he's a slime.“
He snickered „I'm sorry…. But he looks like a poop.“
We both laughed a bit about it before moving to something else.
Some other day he saw me playing tein again. He recognized the game but didn't remember the name of the protagonist.
„Oh that's the poop guy!“
I had to stop playing because I bursted in laughter and shouted back „yep! It's him, the poop guy!“ He found it funny as well.
So I was looking through some old Edmund Mcmillen's concept art (available in The Basement Collection) and behold what I found!
local 5 year old reports that resting in peace is lame as hell, decides to be a little rapscallion ghost child instead
