On June 7th, 2019, Emerald Black a pregnant, black woman, and her fiance were pulled over by police officers after coming from a doctors appointment.

The officers spoke to Ms. Black’s fiance while she stayed in the car.

The officers began to order her out of the car. Ms. Black was clearly pregnant and she had let them know  that she had just gotten back from a doctors appointment where she was also  informed that she was at a high risk for a miscarriage. Despite this, the officers yanked Ms. Black, still in her hospital clothes, and threw her to the ground. They taunted her, piled on top of her, and stomped on her stomach causing her to miscarry. The stomp had  also left a shoe mark.

If you want to help people affected by the explosion, I beg of you please don't donate to petitions! The government will most likely steal it because our lebanese gov is just amazing like that 😒🙃🙃

If you do want to help please donate to the red cross. Also try and find lebanese people asking you to directly help them(kofi patreon and idk what else there is). Our houses, shops, etc... Are all shattered so we need more direct donation to be able to help.

Thankfully my house wasn't affected, but there's an artist on Instagram named Audrey (@audreyghousoub)that has put up a kofi link in one of her stories to directly help her rebuild her house. That's the only person ik who needs help (well at least with money) so it would mean a lot to help her. Edit: here's the link.

Other than that, if anyone else needs help, don't hesitate to just say it! Everyone is willing to help💕 stay safe everyone!

Do you know that there is a city on Earth that actually lives in a dystopian future? and it's terrifying.

image

Who are the Uighurs?

The Uighurs are mostly Muslims, and number about 11 million in western China’s Xinjiang region. They see themselves as culturally and ethnically close to Central Asian nations, and their language is similar to Turkish.

But in recent decades, there’s been a mass migration of Han Chinese (China’s ethnic majority) to Xinjiang, and the Uighurs feel their culture and livelihoods are under threat.

image

Nowhere in the world, not even in North Korea, is the population monitored as strictly as it is in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region.  Oppression has been in place for years, but has worsened massively in recent months.

- Uighurs can no longer openly practice Islam

- Men are not allowed to wear beards. Exception only for old people

- They can no longer learn their native language at school

- They cannot move freely around the country and cannot leave it

- All mosques have been turned into shops and office centers

Beijing has also turned Xinjiang into a security state that is extreme even by China’s standards, being a police state itself. The provincial government has recruited over 90,000 police officers in the last two years alone - twice as many as it recruited in the previous seven years.

image
image
image

At the same time, Beijing is equipping the far-western region with state-of-the-art surveillance technology, with cameras illuminating every street all over the region, from the capital Urumqi to the most remote mountain village. Iris scanners and WiFi sniffers are in use in stations, airports and at the ubiquitous checkpoints - tools and programs that allow data traffic from wireless networks to be monitored.

image

Checkpoints are installed in every district of the city. In simple terms, you can not get from one area of the city to another without passing the checkpoint and the police.

image
image

The data is then collated by an “integrated joint operations platform” that also stores further data on the populace – from consumer habits to banking activity, health status and indeed the DNA profile of every single inhabitant of Xinjiang.

image

Anyone with a potentially suspicious data trail can be detained. The government has built up a grid of hundreds of re-education camps. Tens of thousands of people have disappeared into them in recent months.

“Qu xuexi,” meaning to go or be sent to study, is one of the most common expressions in Xinjiang these days. It is a euphemism for having been taken away and not having been seen or heard from since. The “schools” are re-education centers in which the detainees are being forced to take courses in Chinese and patriotism, without any indictment, due process or a fair hearing.

image
image
image
image

Xinjiang, one of the most remote and backward regions in booming China, has become a real-life dystopia. It provides a glimpse of what an authoritarian regime armed with 21st century technology is capable of.

Uighurs are very intimidated and refuse to talk to the press, even if they miraculously escaped the country.

What’s happening in China is terrible. Maybe some people finally realize that the concentration camps are the reality of our time. There are concentration camps in America too. Don’t forget that.

Colorism isn’t just light skin being preferred.

Colorism is calling a dark skin girl bitter to invalidate her experiences.

Colorism is “we’re all Black at the end of the day” to dismiss the disadvantages of darker skin.

Colorism is “dark skin girls are popular now though”.

Stop.

I’m Really Tired Of Seeing People Broken Up Into Labels Of Absolutes.

I’m Really Tired Of Seeing People Broken Up Into Labels Of Absolutes.
I’m Really Tired Of Seeing People Broken Up Into Labels Of Absolutes.
I’m Really Tired Of Seeing People Broken Up Into Labels Of Absolutes.
I’m Really Tired Of Seeing People Broken Up Into Labels Of Absolutes.

I’m really tired of seeing people broken up into labels of absolutes.

People are not just “good” or “bad”.

People are not a list of labels.

People are complex, situations are complex.

I know, that makes it a lot harder when you want to just write off everything someone’s ever done as bad – but that’s not how people actually are, and it would do everyone good to stop pretending they are.

I am tired of hearing about the fear people have in putting themselves out there. And it is a scary thing! Putting yourself out there means subjecting yourself to people who want a really good reason to tear you down, who will jump at the first chance to feel “good” by labeling someone else as “bad”.

I reject this. I reject the idea that there should be fear in speaking up and talking about experiences and trying to reach an understanding of a situation.

I’m unhappy to see people spitefully urging others to cut off ties with their friends under the guise of “well, that person’s just inherently bad, so if you talk to them you’re bad too.” That is fucked up. You definitely have the right to let the friend know you don’t want to hear about whoever troubles you, but you do not at all have the right to decide who their friends should be. This includes guilt trips.

Anyway, just try to be more aware of others. Everyone else is a person like you. They might not have the same experiences as you. They might not understand how their words are harmful, or how what they’re doing is wrong. They certainly won’t if you never tell them.

Most people are trying to be good, but they’re going to mess it up sometimes. Try to keep that in mind. Even when people do really fucked up shit, sometimes they are trying to do good. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” and all that.

Nothing gets solved, no growth happens when you put people into a box from which you’ll never let them escape.

Yes, you absolutely must be careful about people who have tendencies and patterns that are harmful to you. Sometimes people try to overcome those patterns and they fail, and you have to distance yourself from them: that is the sad reality of life. Sometimes though, they can overcome it. But they certainly won’t if the first thing you do is write them off after a fuck up.

Be sincere. Use your best judgment.

I personally think they just rise from the ground like it was water. Like a child coming out of the ground, vertically, and when they are fully emerged, awaken into the world. There isn't even a hole in the ground or indents to show where they rose. There are just footprints from nowhere

How Nations are born Headcanon

Ok so, I think the nations just crawl out of bushes and trees.

Like Alfred crawled out of rose bush and boom badda bing you have a child, not a grown child, but a child.

Matthew came from a tree, landing right ontop of Alfred.

They also respawn at the same plant(or similar because that one might be extinct). So China crawls out of a bush, dusts himself off and runs back to where ever he was last and screams at who ever executed him.

Feel free to add in your own interpretations of how the nations came into existence
