(In which everything is the same except Luffy was 'born' as a god-like entity and grew copying the people of his island.

He basically copied and pasted human (and some non human) behaviors, especially kids (i'm looking at the ASL brothers.) until whatever blob of energy he was, turned into something resembling human. (See how luffy is kind of a physical mix between sabo and ace? yeah. he took inspiration)

He's the manifestation of freedom, but he also made up the personality we know and love, as kids do. He's 18 when some weird three sworded demon gets deployed by some mercenaries of the island who want to get rid of the really weird devil fruit user that keeps breaking havoc and getting in their way. Zoro just came for a simple job and got a handful of Sun god. Good for him. Also, because this au is basically a What If scenario in which everything but Luffy is the same, you can assume that finding the one piece is ON the table. Being a pirate and finding the crew is ON the table. It just takes a couple extra years, give or take. I'm thinking that there's a reason why Luffy hasn't left the island already, but Zoro is, ironically enough, the one to push him to go and go crazy at sea. Also, because Zoro never got to meet Luffy early on, he's a little extra grumpier. He has no friends basically and his life's purpose is kinda a bit stranded at the moment. He's been picking up odd jobs for some time now and it's gotten old. He's losing his edge and he hates it. And then he meets ITS FREE REAL STATE himself. Huzzah. Ps: Yeah the world government knows about Luffy. Kinda. They've been ignoring him and praying/hoping/begging to whatever god is out there that he DOESNT GET OUT. Too bad.)

I've had this idea in my head for quite a long time and with how many artists I've seen this similar idea with, I was intrigued. Just the idea of Luffy having his "brother" back albeit in a slightly different way is nice. And especially if this little Ace was so different from the normal seraphim.

By my calculations, Nami was 7 when Cora ‘died’, so before Cora went undercover, Belle-mère would send letters to old friends from her marine days about her life and her two lovely daughters. I imagine Cora and Belle-mère met as trainees and would go on missions together too if they were in the same location.

Hair's still a bit messy, but shadows and highlights are almost done save for the ponytail and a little blending.

I may try to wrap this one up tonight, but I'm already exhausted. Past couple days have been rough. I've had a borderline migraine for almost five days straight, and it's finally starting to go away, but it's siphoning my energy with it. Wanted to accomplish at least something today, so I'm glad I got this much done.

Once more, this is from an au born via asks, where Cora is perfectly safe and alive and somehow ended up in Cross Guild (pretty sure Croc brought him in for the sole sake of spiting Doflamingo) and he and Buggy trade hair and make-up tips everyone lived happily ever after.

I’ve been rewatching One Piece with a friend (their first time, my second) And we just finished up Fish Man Island and were watching episode 570 and I saw something so sweet that I hadn’t seen before. It was the scene where Jinbei is trying to tell Luffy about the world and how it’s changed and at first everyone is like this:

Note where everyone is! But then, when things get more serious and the mention of Akainu comes up, saying he’s the new fleet admiral and then Luffy touches his scar and grimaces, remembering bad things and the next time we get a far shot it’s this:

And then for the rest of the conversation, Sanji sat down beside Luffy, kinda like a silent support when they get to Blackbeard.

And I thought wow that’s so cool and small detail and I decided to check the manga and sure enough:

Sanji just auto sits down beside Luffy, and pretty close too. It doesn’t take observation haki to know hearing about that kind of stuff for Luffy was hard, especially since it’s one of the only times you really see Luffy in distress about his scar and Marineford. And just, Sanji picking up on that and making sure he’s close to to his captain, to be like ‘hey we’re here with you and for you, you’re not alone’. Kindness, probably mixed with guilt for not being there, just more for Sanij’s character. He’s being there for Luffy now and I can’t get over this subtle little thing.
