Two sides of the same coin.
@friskdreemurr00 you are such a friend! It's always a delight to see you on my dashboard!
My old school once covered up a serious hazing incident and (unrelatedly) still wont fire the history teacher that walks around slapping his hands with a metal base ball bat and once grabbed a girl by the back of her neck to make a metaphor about the British seizing american ports.
In 3rd grade I got this big award in front of the whole school for ‘most improved’ and I keep thinking about it b/c
It was named after a kid who died in a tractor accident and apparently had behavioral issues that were getting better? the school somehow decided the most tasteful way to honor his memory was with a ‘most improved’ award, and then to hand it out annually to elementary school students, who definitely wouldn’t be creeped out at all to receive something named after a kid who died tragically.
I only got it because I finally had a teacher who knew how to help with/ my learning disorders. And both of my siblings (with similar issues) went on to receive the exact same reward when they were also in Mrs. D’s class. Like, if problem children are repeatedly improving after switching to a new classroom environment, maybe they weren’t the problem in the first place. Maybe get these kids help sooner. (Man, I flipping loved Mrs. D)
The person on the stage had to call my name twice because I wasn’t paying attention. Someone had to tap me on the shoulder. I think I was reading.
It was a pretty weird situation. I still kept the plaque though.

In A Little Game of Cat and Mouse it's mentioned that Alicia has an unseen twin, Theodosia. May I ask if you have any idea of her character? I'm just very fond of Jonah's sisters.
Hi!! Thank you so much for showing interest in the littlest guy, Theodosia! I have many thoughts about her, which I probably will not be able to expand much upon in the main fic. So here are some of them!
Theodosia is the younger and more quiet twin sister of Alicia (or at least she appears to be quiet in comparison to her sister, which isnt a very difficult task to accomplish).
If Alicia is similar to Jonah in her relentless pursuit of asking questions and her cavalier attitude towards not letting mysteries remain unbothered- Theodosia is much like Jonah in the way they are both schemers. Most of the mischief Theodosia and Alicia get up to at the Magnus Estate is plotted by Theo. One of the more recent plots of dumping a bucket of water on their governess from a door frame was rigged by Theo, and the twins' victim was lured into the trap by Alicia. These plans often lead to Alicia taking the brunt of the blame for their pranks as Theo always arranges her to be the one in the center of the action. Alicia does not mind, however, because she enjoys having the credit that Theodosia is all too willing to give her.
Another reason as to why Theo is not often placed with the worst of the punishment from their pranks is because Theodosia is a rather sickly child. The reason why she was unable to attend the opening of the institute is because she was incapacitated with a fever and left to the staff of the house to take care of. Alicia wanted to stay with Theodosia instead of going to what she correctly assumed was to be a very boring party, but Theodosia made her go with the promises of ghosts and immortal beings attending the opening so Alicia wouldn't feel guilty- and of course so Theodosia could hear about the drama of the event, and about the very unlikely chance Alicia would run into a supernatural being.
If Alicia and Theodosia weren't limited by the gender roles of the time, I believe they would have made a fantastic lawyer and doctor, respectively.
Thank you so much for being fond of Jonah's sisters!! And for asking about them! 💛
The wonderful Albert/Cooper fanfiction trilogy “Some Say the World Will End in Fire” by Nemo_the_Everbeing really sparked my inspiration, with a lot of scenes I really wanted to draw. The first one is set before the events of twin peaks, Albert meeting Cooper for the first time. The second one is set after season two, and the third is an additional epilogue. Albert and Cooper are both wonderfully written, and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
If you want to read them with fresh eyes, don’t worry, you can come back later and look at the fanart for the first fic ending under this ‘read more’:

AAAAAAA!!! oh my goodness you are so talented and I love the way you draw Jonah and Jon! Your character designs and composition skills are 10/10 and oh my gosh, I’m really honored that you made this from my goofy story i’m-
This is a comic I made for @paptato Fic! It’s a time travel Magnus Archive fic and it’s my favorite, honestly fantastic read.
A Game of Cat and Mouse:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23988727/chapters/57704170
Text in the comic (because my handwriting is not good):
[First panel] “Magnus’s face is unreadable” [Second panel] “He barely hears the clacking” [Fourth panel] “He is not being made to speak the words of a mad man. He is in control. He is safe. He is no longer a puppet.” [Fifth panel] Magnus says “Jonathan I-” and Jon cuts him off saying “Don’t.”
The fact that there’s an actually functional website for the library of Babel is one of those things that fucks me up more and more the more I think about the implications.
