Using my new markers and they are awesome! :D Did a sketch of Sans and finally got him looking alright. I'm going to add more to this page and post it. :3
Apollo Justice hates mirrors. He hates seeing his face reflected back at him, because he knows he's not fine. He knows he's at his breaking point, and his reflection looks into him, looking for every lie he hasn't stopped telling himself. His bracelet tightens, and he has the urge to find every tic and twitch on his own face. He looks away instead. He covers up the mirrors and Clay calls him a vampire for it. He's fine. As long as he doesn't see how wrong he is, he'll be fine. As long as he can keep saying he's fine, he doesn't have to admit how broken he is.
Trucy stares into her own eyes every morning. It's a daily ritual of sorts. She tries to seal up the cracks in her mask, practicing her precious smile and her innocent little girl act, but she'll never be able to escape the weight of who she is. She's the child of magic, she's the child of law, she helped her dad disappear and never saw him again. She gave her dad forged evidence, twice. She's not okay. She's waiting for someone to see through the cracks.
Thalassa sees herself in her children, now that she sees and now that she knows who she is. She sees the pain Apollo holds inside, and it scares her that he refuses to see it for himself. She sees the desperation in Trucy's eyes, but she's afraid to break down those walls too soon. The magician's daughter, the musician's lover, the mirror. She's made of lies these days, singing of beauty that she couldn't see, stopping her career when she finally could. She wants her children to be well. She doesn't know how to give that to them. She doesn't know how.

i need help [tater tot addict] 10 years and going…any body?
Why does schlatt sound like a 50 year old Italian pizzaria owner who turns a blind eye to the mafia negotiating in his bar but look like Logan from BTS spent the first 18 years of his life still in his mother's womb

I want to vent about something that has been irking me for a while.
I have strong chest dysphoria. I have hated my breasts since the moment they arrived. They feel like foreign objects on my body. I have worn binders for the past 4 years and am hoping to get top surgery in the future to be totally flat.
I am also cis.
Now you might be thinking "Well then that's not dysphoria! Dysphoria relates to an incongruence between one's assigned gender and actual gender!"
Yes, that's gender dysphoria. I have the more general body dysphoria.
"I think what you actually mean is body dysmorphia, right? Cis dysphoria is just body dysmorphic disorder."
No, that's absolutely not what I mean.
Body dysphoria means you dislike a specific aspect of your body that is perceivable to you and others, it is not warped by your brain. Body dysmorphia is a disorder that means you see flaws in your body that are highly exaggerated or even nonexistent, meaning only you perceive these flaws and others cannot. It has connections to OCD, anxiety, and eating disorders.
Like gender dysphoria, body dysphoria can be relieved with tactics like surgery, while BDD cannot. The perceived flaw will just be transferred to another body part because the underlying problem is a mental illness, not the body part's presence itself.
I am aware of my chest and its impact on my life. I am acutely aware of what it actually looks like and how it is observed by others. My view of my own body is not skewed compared to an outsider's view of my body.
Cis people can and do experience body dysphoria, sometimes on a level that will require surgery to relieve that anguish. This does not mean they have BDD.
Body dysphoria can occur in anyone, cis or trans. We need to stop confusing it with body dysmorphia, which requires entirely different handling. They can certainly exist simultaneously, but they are not interchangeable terms by any means, and to continue assuming so is dangerous for and does a disservice to parties with either or both conditions.
Body dysphoria needs to be handled with respect and dignity.
BDD needs to be handled with respect and dignity.
But they cannot be handled as if they are exactly the same.
