We are all part of the fabric of space and time.

Embrionic Journey - Jefferson Airplane
A student once asked Martin Heidegger how we should spend our lives. Heidegger replied, "We should spend more time in grave yards."
I, myself, would have answered, "We should spend more time bathing in waterfalls."

THE VILLAGE
Mano Chao - Minha Galera
I've written about this before but a little over two years ago we left America and moved to the Philippines.
It's so beautiful here.
We live in the port town of a small island, but my wife originally came from a little village deep in the mountains. It's a small village of about 200 people surroundedby coconut jungle.
I love visiting the village.
Looking down the village's main walk way during fiesta.
Close by there's an amazing waterfall we like to bath in.
Like I say, I love it here.

This morning's drawing.
One advantage to being an unknown artist is that whenever I sit down to draw I can draw whatever the hell I want.

San Francisco 2003
I spent Christmas 2003 with some friends in San Francisco. They lived in this big two-hundred-year-old house that sat on the prison grounds of San Quentin penitentiary. It's a long story actually but what I remember most was the bed. The guest room of the house had this large old four posted wooden bed frame with the softest thickest most wonderful mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. I will never forget the moment when I laid down and sank into the loving folds of that luxurious mattress. I felt embraced by softness, and I fell asleep as if floating on a cloud.
When I awoke the next morning I was amazed at the time. I had slept through the entire night without waking up once. I felt wonderfully refreshed.
After breakfast I sat down with my sharpie and drew both of these drawings in a single sitting.

PEDRO UK
In the 1980's I played bass guitar in a reggae band. That was a trip let me tell you. To this day I still have dreams that I'm back in the studio with those guys.
Pedro, our riddim guitarist, and I are still in close contact. He continues to put out music from his home studio in Birmingham, England. He uses some of my art for his videos. This one looks nice.
More of Pedro's music here:

This song...
I have to speak vaguely about this one but there was a morning in 2002 in Chicago when I finally got to do something that I had been dreaming about doing for my entire like. It was a lovely fall morning. For the entire rest of the world it was just another morning but for me..
When I got in the car and started driving into town, this song came on the radio.
As I drove I turned up the volume, and tears ran down my face.
Never give up my friends.
By the way, I based this drawing on a photo of the lovely Jing Yu. Instagram @yuki_injo

I don't speak German, but somehow, this song, sung in German, talks to me.

Culver City 1977
This is an old one. 1977.
I can still remember drawing it. I was living at the time, with someone special, in an apartment in Culver City, with a big double bed. When she came home that night she loved it.
I stlll have this drawing tucked away in one of my drawers.
And I still have my memories tucked away in my mind.
