Mag 9: A Father's Love
"The first thing I saw when I opened that door was my father, bathed in the pale blue light. I couldn’t see any source for the glow, but it was so bright. He was knelt in the centre of an ornate chalk pattern scrawled on the rough wood of the floor. In front of him lay a man I didn’t know, but he was clearly dead – his chest had been cut open, and still gaped and bled feebly. In one hand my father held a wicked-looking knife, and in the other, he held the man’s heart."
when i first watched the shadowhunters tv i enjoyed it. it was a little cringe and badly acted in moments, but it’s always fun to see new content based off your favourite books. several years later tho, i kind of wish they had just left the franchise alone 😭
it’s within a director’s right to reimagine a book however they want but in the case of the shadowhunters tv show…i just didn’t enjoy what they did with the storyline. it would’ve been a better show if they had just stuck to the plot of the books.
before anyone says, “just don’t watch it if you don’t like it”. yes, obviously. i can still state my opinion on shows i dislike.
