MP100 be reiterating the importance of positive adult influence in child development.
Little gif i did for the end of mp100 s3 ! It’s been almost a year… this series has such a special place in my heart, i was so happy to animate a little bit on s3 !
Anyway, here is my pitch to the merch makers of mob psycho 100 for an official wawa plush
I've been reading a lot of MP100 x MHA fics and looking at prompts and I'm absolutely in love with the idea of Quirkless Reigen faking having a quirk, maybe even running his own (not exactly legal) "hero agency" in Seasoning City and getting the most powerful sidekicks and interns possible despite being relatively unknown as a hero (also not exactly legally one). His "agency" is more focused on just helping people with whatever issues they may have be it spiritual, Quirk-related, or otherwise really.
I just think it would be interesting if maybe, one of the kids he knows (maybe Teru, even) placed really high on the UA Sports Festival and ended up dragging along other characters to Spirits and Such because that's where he ends up interning. Others are like, surely the Hero who managed to get Hanazawa to intern at his agency is super powerful and knowledgeable right? Right??
What they end up with is a sweaty man in a cheap suit (is that supposed to be his hero costume??) claiming his Quirk to be so powerful and out of this world he can't use it for most situations lest he destroy the city block or something, who gives them much needed life counseling and lectures and takes them out to help citizens with the most mundane things under the guise of "evil spirits" or "villainous plots".
He has maybe two, three employees there, though they don't have many work hours anymore, they do pop in sometimes and help the interns learn about the job, the paperwork and attitude and helping others. And thus they learn the power of customer service that it isn't big flashy fights or being super popular that makes a hero, its just being a good person and helping others.
spiritual successor to this post
finally finished fmab so i thought i’d redraw some cursed stock photos,,, as one does,,, 💀
Real talk tho Mob is gonna grow up and choose some constructive but random-ass occupation like healthcare clerk or something idk but word of mouth means that everyone is going to know him as “my friend has a friend who also does exorcisms”
like maybe spooky noises have started coming from that sketchy chest freezer you bought off Facebook so you tell your friend and they say “oh yeah my cousin knows this dude, he can take care of that for you, called him last year to deal with a cursed bong, he’s 100% legit"
later that evening this COMPLETELY JACKED guy shows up at your apartment and you’re like What are you gonna do, punch the ghost or something? But no he politely asks if he can come in, stands in front of the freezer for a minute without doing anything, then tells you that the evil spirit is gone now and you can store your cowshare portion in peace. Whole thing seems kinda suspect but musclebro didn’t charge you anything and anyway the spooky noises have stopped so no harm done, right?
And then maybe a few months later your coworker tells you that they swear they saw this creepy headless figure walking home last night so you’re like, Y'know I know this guy, 100% legit, I bet he could look into it for you…
okay I've finished making my big spreadsheet of how mp100 characters refer to each other! some thoughts on this under the cut because it got long
the Kageyama brothers are very polite in how they refer to people. their parents must have really instilled etiquette into them bc no one else is as consistent about using polite honorifics/titles as they are. the only people Mob doesn't give an honorific/title are his brother and Dimple, and the only people Ritsu doesn't give an honorific are Dimple and Shou, who he just calls "Suzuki"
Reigen, on the other hand, is pretty inconsistent and casual with his use of honorifics. he says "Mob-kun" a couple times and "Ritsu-kun" once, but usually they're just Mob and Ritsu (or "Mob's brother" lmao). the only honorific he consistently uses is "Tome-chan"
it's infrequent, but both Reigen and Dimple refer to Mob as "my boy" at some point :') he's their boy!
Ritsu doesn't refer to the Awakening Lab kids at all until he asks their names after being kidnapped lmao the only exception is when he calls out to the older Shiratori brother after the younger one is taken away and he calls him "Shiratori-kun." considering the fact that after asking their names, he refers to both of them as Daichi-kun and Kaito-kun, I think there was absolutely a moment when everyone was freaking out about the Shiratori brothers where he was like "ohhhhh that's his name"
also he switches from "Onigawara-san" to "Onigawara-senpai" when he realizes he's friends with his brother lmao fakeass
even though Mob starts calling Teru "Hanazawa-kun" as soon as they exchange names, Teru doesn't give him the honorific until they decide to raid Claw together. I guess that's the point when he decides they're friendly enough for it? he calls Ritsu "brother-kun" as soon as he realizes they're related and never refers to him by his actual name
everyone calls Teru some variation on his nickname EXCEPT Mob and Dimple. Dimple actually only calls him "brat" and "that guy" for a while until he managed to track him down again during the alleyway incident, which I realized is because he was exorcised before learning Teru's name lskdjflkdsf from the Seventh Division arc onwards, he just calls him "Hanazawa"
I love that Dimple tries to refer to the brothers with cutesy nicknames and both of them are like "if you do that again I'm killing you all the way dead" and he's like "understood." and then refers to them by given name from then on lmao
Teru refers to Dimple as "Dimple-kun" and Tome calls him "Dimple-chan," both of which are SO funny to me because he's way older than them. rude as hell, this evil spirit deserves no respect
Shou doesn't use honorifics or titles for ANYONE. Ritsu is just Ritsu, the Ultimate 5 are all their last names, his dad is just Pops. he also exclusively refers to Mob as "Ritsu's brother" dkfjldskfj
Serizawa alternates between "Shigeo-kun" and "Kageyama-kun" with no real rhyme or reason to it. just seems to depend on his mood I guess
I’ve been meaning to draw this au forever
I’ve been imagining this piece since Mob Psycho 100 first aired and I finally took a crack at it now that MP100 season 3 is CONFIRMED BABY!!! LET’S GO!!!
