Honestly as a blind person I’m so tired of seeing fictional blind characters who don’t use white canes or other guides. “They have special powers so they know what’s around them” or “they’re confident enough to not need a guide” are common tropes, and I’m tired.
Are people scared that using a white cane will make their blind character seem weak? They can’t use a cane because they’re so special that they already know what’s around them, and other blind people who use guides are inferior because they’re not special?
I’m tired. Give your blind characters white canes and other guides. Let them hold onto their friends, let them have guide dogs. Don’t make white cane users feel ostracized for not being “strong enough” to go without.
Another thing that pisses me off is when a sighted character comes up with the fantasy equivalent of braille and teaches it to the blind character. Braille was invented by Louis Braille, a blind man, in 1824. The blind character should be the one coming up with it.
Tldr I’m blind and tired of sighted people lol
That’s awesome, I am majorly jealous and so is Kai.
My SO bought me a dragon box.
Y'all can come to the wedding I guess
If you aren’t cisgender heteroromantic heterosexual, you belong in the queer community. I’m sick of seeing this bullshit “you aren’t queer enough” sort of community policing.
And by “cisgender heteroromantic heterosexual” I mean ALL THREE of those things.
Are you a trans (binary or nonbinary) person who is attracted sexually and romantically to the opposite gender? You belong in the LGBTA+ community.
Are you a cis person who is heteroromantic asexual? You belong.
Are you a cis person who is heterosexual aromantic? You belong.
Are you a cis bisexual who is currently dating a cis member of the opposite gender? You belong.
Are you an intersex individual who otherwise is heteroromantic heterosexual? You belong.
Stop trying to alienate people based on some fucked-up “level of queerness”. There are enough problems in the LGBTA+ community without people being exclusive.
The city of brass by S. A. Chakraborty is great and although technically adult, I read it when I was 15 and loved it and it didn’t feel too adult at all.

Damn, girl you talented
“A fox’s teeth are very sharp.” (2013-2019) Silk filament on silk-hemp blend with hand-dyed silk chiffon scarf. Text is Sandman: The Dream Hunters by @neil-gaiman, design inspired by illustrations of Yoshitaka Amano. Dress by L.L.K. Photo credit to Kenneth Williams.
Six years ago, my unbelievably talented wife decided to undertake a ridiculously long and complicated project: to embroider a story onto a dress.
We live in a very casual college town where no one ever dresses up for anything, so we began a tradition of throwing formal New Year’s Eve parties, and L being L, she made a dress every year. In 2013, she decided to take it a step further: she would create a dress inspired by Neil Gaiman’s Sandman: The Dream Hunters and then embroider the entire story onto the dress. The dress itself was the work of a few weeks and looked beautiful on her at the party, and then the real work began: planning, mapping, embroidering and embroidering and embroidering. She estimated it would take approximately ten years of doing needlework an hour or two each evening, leaving plenty of time to take nights or even months off. She finished in under six.
I can’t summon words to describe how proud of her I am right now. I mean, I am always proud of her, as she is an exceptionally kind and caring human being as well as a polymath (seamstress, carpenter, baker, programmer, naturalist, and tenured professor of biology), but she has created a true work of art and I hope it ends up in a museum somewhere to immortalize her talent, skill, and patience.
She’s currently trying to figure out her next project.
Ooh, thanks so much! I can’t wait to get start on all these, there’s so many it’ll be a real treat!
Hiya, do you have any fairytale aus? Thanks for your work by the way, I love this blog!
Hello friend! So happy that you’re enjoying this work. The Librarian got to discover new fics on this fun theme, so this ask was a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy some of these as well.

Magic once existed in England and has finally returned. Mr Sirius Black, a gifted magician, ventures, rash and ill-prepared, into Faerie.
Every Rose Has Its Thorns by shadow_prince
Two beasts, a lot of magic, and a rose garden.
little red riding hood and other misnomers by Someone_aka_Me
Sirius may wear a red riding cloak, but he is no Little Red Riding Hood. But that's okay, because Remus doesn't make a very good Big Bad Wolf, either.
The Kitchens by @lumosinlove
Sirius and Remus: A king and a commoner from two different worlds who will break all the rules for love.
prince Sirius and commoner werewolf Remus by Judeyjude
“I gather you have come to slay the beast?” “Uh.” Sirius stared at the man lying on the grass. There was not a line of tension in his body, and he hadn’t dignified Sirius—Prince Sirius—with a single glance. “Er, yes. Right. The beast. Werewolf. Do you, uh, know where…it dwells?” The man snorted and turned the page of his book.
The King I Could Become by @randoyoyo
Prince Sirius of Nox has one thing he cannot stand. Or rather it should be said, one person. Prince Remus of Lupos. They had never gotten along well, though their kingdoms are close allies, but a disturbance in the lands has brought them together on a quest. They’ll be able to take down this threat…if they can survive each other’s presence first.
Snow Black -orphaned account
Sirius Black - more commonly known as Snow Black - is forced to run away from home when his father attempts to have him killed. What he doesn’t expect is to get caught up in a scheme to steal the crown from none other than Prince Lupin himself.

Grimsfall by @remus-john-lupin
There is a legend in the old city of Grimsfall that a large, black creature used to emerge from the forest at night, and anyone who met its gaze would be driven to madness before the thing dragged them into the depths of hell.
Books, Swords, and Other Things Found in Forests (A Robin Hood/Historical AU) by @alienfairyprincess-blog
The man flicked his sword to Remus’ throat with a cocky grin. “Your book or your life.” “Book.” The wolfstar/marauders Robin Hood AU nobody asked for!
The Moon's Favourite Son and the Guardian of the Forest by @shaggydogstail @artymakeart
When Remus was a little boy, he used to listen to stories told by the wind which came down his chimney. When he became an adult, he travelled to the place those stories came from, a magical forest far away. There he met Sirius, so beautiful and mysterious it was like he'd stepped straight out of a story book himself, and better yet Sirius promised to grant him three wishes.
