Yoongi can’t help but curl his lips into a snarl around the cigarette hanging between his teeth as watches Kim Taehyung produce a spray can from the insides of his backpack. “Again?” Yoongi crows, still leaning against the wall, hands deep into the pockets of his leather jacket. “Jesus Tae, have you forgotten what happened the last time you tried to pull this off?”

Taehyung merely smiles at this, shaking the spray can as he takes a few steps back from the wall, a hint of admiration upon the blank canvas—soon to be filled with the freedom of his expression. “What ever happened to learning from your mistakes, hyung?”

“I like to think you’re smarter than that when it comes to something like this,” Yoongi lets out before scoffing at his friend. “And out in public too for fucks sake.”

It’s true—Taehyung has always been a little too reckless for Yoongi’s taste, always electing to do something and worrying about the consequences later on. The latter would know this from experience, of course. Taehyung almost got them all arrested a few weeks back because of the very item Taehyung is showcasing in his hands. Under broad daylight.

Jungkooks favorite part of working out is when he convinces you to get a victory dessert after the workout. Today‘s treat is Bingsu, your favorite type of dessert and his favorite type dessert to surprise you with. You sat in front of him passing his spoon to him and Jungkook feels at peace, like he was meant to be here at this moment sharing this dessert with you.

Even though Jungkook loved looking at you he was still confused on how you can have him under your spell every time. He can never seem to shake your spell off of him either, he’s tried focusing on the Bingsu in front of him but he was far more interested in watching you pick at the fruit that sat on top and then placing a piece in your mouth. Jungkook almost envied the fruit that got to touch your soft, glossy lips. He imagines himself cutely feeding you fruit only for him to pull it back and kiss you. Then you’d probably pout but that’s just another temptation for him to kiss your lips.

You hummed softly, loving the way the cold fruit cooled you down after your workout. But Jungkook couldn't pinpoint what it was but something about you was different and whatever it was that was different, was the reason why his heart shook with every word you spoke.

What was it?

Was it the way you smiled at him?

Or was it the after-glow of the sweat on your collar bones?

Or could it be the pretty dress you surprised him with that had him glued to you?

He doesn’t know. But he sighs, undoubtedly and unknowingly in love with you and your existence.

“Something on your mind kookie?” The way your softly cooed his nickname broke your wicked spell.

“Just thinking.” Jungkook shrugs while he stuffed his mouth with the cold shaved ice.

“About?”

He lets the taste of Bingsu melt in his mouth before he looks out the window to avoid your eyes. You're suspicious but he acts like he wasn’t just thinking about you,” Just thinking about what I’m going to wear to Yoongi Hyungs launch party.”

You perked up feeling excited all over at the mention of the launch party. You were ecstatic when Yoongi invited you but you were over the moon when Jungkook asked you to be his plus one. You haven’t been to a party in a while and you feel like it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase some new changes.

Jungkook hesitantly looks at you before speaking up again,” I’m also excited to see you in that new outfit you got.”

You blushed,” If I’m being honest, I’ve never worn anything like it before so I’m a little nervous about it.”

“You’ll be fine,” Jungkook reassures you but the bit of your lip tells him you are not feeling so nice about it,” you’re going to look amazing, it’ll be uncomfortable at first, yea but sometimes we need to reach out of our comfort zone to find confidence.”

You’re still overthinking and Jungkook could tell you don’t believe him, so he grabs your hand like he usually does when he‘s serious and bites his lip before letting his thumb smooth over yours in small circles.

“Y/n,” Jungkook makes sure you’re looking at him before he continues,” You’re going to look beautiful. You always do.”

You blush.

“Wanna know why you always look beautiful?”

“Why?”

“Because you are beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.” He ends his sentence with a big smile on is face and you’ve concluded that that was your favorite smile.

The launch party is that same weekend. You wanted to surprise Jungkook since he’s been hyping you up even without seeing the actual outfit. So you asked Yoon to drop you off, she does but not without asking if you were sure about your outfit.

Are you sure?

Do you even look cute?

You’re just going to embarrass yourself…

But you took a deep breath and remembered Jungkooks words.

You are beautiful.

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.

You weren’t going to let her comments or your own insecurities push you down so you say yes, with a big smile on your face and no hint of regret. You arrive at the party, waving bye to Yoon and promising to bring her back party favors or leftover food. Inside the music is loud and warm, there’s not too many people but enough for it to be a successful launch. But you feel their eyes on you, and you start feeling a twinge of embarrassment because of it. You take another deep breath and recite the words that you’ve been practicing in the mirror for the past few months now.

You’re fine.

You look great.

It’s okay.

You’re beautiful.

You feel the nerves in your body calm down just enough for you to stand tall and feel the confidence that you’ve been working so hard on.

Nothing was going to ruin this night for you.

You don’t see Yoongi or Jungkook but you do see a table with a tall lady by it handing out black bags. She eyes you, probably asking herself the same thing Yoon asked but you feel too good to care. You take the bag and thank her, that’s when you finally spot Jungkook holding two drinks. You think he’s taking advantage of free food but when you walk over to him he slowly hands you one and that’s when you realized that maybe he’s been waiting for you.

Jungkook feels like his heart jumped out of his chest and leaped out the window. Seeing you like this, showing skin he’s never seen before is giving him a reaction that makes him want to pull you into the nearest closet and just look at you. You wore a light pink cropped blazer with a matching pencil skirt that ended mid thigh but what made Jungkook want to drool was the pink tube top that adorned your upper body. It showed your belly but you didn’t seem to mind, in fact you seemed the most confident he’s ever seen you and it was making his tummy churn.

“Hi.” You smile shyly, fixing your skirt and blushing like crazy. He wants to reassure you that you look beautiful, gorgeous, sexy but his mind can only muster up a mumbled hey. He sips his drink and tries again.

“I-I told you…You look- You look beautiful,” he hides behind his cup, looking at the red drink rather than you, which was really hard for him to do,” that’s the- the outfit they sent you?”

“Yes! It’s so comfy,” you blush because Jungkook is eyeing you up and down but you don’t feel weird like you usually would.

You feel good.

“The company wants to send me more stuff so I think I’ll accept it.” You smile and Jungkook chokes on his drink. You look at him worried but he assures you everything is fine.

It’s just you take his breath away, but he won’t tell you that because you seem shy and nervous as it is.

You smile and continue talking but at this point he’s in his own head because doesn’t want to think too much about your outfit, he doesn’t want to blush and he definitely doesn’t want the ache in his heart to hurt the way it does.

But he does and his heart hurts more than it’s ever hurt before.

He doesn’t know what to do with himself, his fingers tingle with need to touch you. He wants to run his hands through your curls and touch the corduroy fabric of your dress. More importantly, he wants to kiss you, so bad. You’re talking to him about something that he lost track of a while ago but he stares at your lips wanting to feel the sticky of your lip gloss against his own.

Your confidence is radiating off of you, almost like a glow. Jungkook confirms that you are indeed a goddess and he is just a simple commoner who wants to worship your being. There’s too many things he wants to do to you right now, but he won’t indulge in his fantasies because now he sees you turning around to leave and he panics.

“Where are you going?” Jungkook gently grabs your wrist and fights the urge to lace his fingers with yours.

“I-I just said?” You looked at him very confused, he looked out of it,” Yoongi called me over.”

“Oh,” Jungkook feels disappointed for some weird reason,”I’ll go- I’ll go get us more drinks then.”

You hum and Jungkook watches you walk over to where Yoongi was standing by a table full of his books. He sighs loudly before heading to the bar. Yoongi watches you walk over to him, he feels something scratchy in his chest because, fuck, you’re taking his breathe away and he’s loving every second of it. You’re finally in front of him and he nervously holds one of his books that he signed with a cute message on it for you. He hopes you don’t think he’s cocky but he really wants you to see his work. Yoongi has never cared about criticism or getting feedback since he follows the beat of his own drum but he really needs you to tell him that you like his stuff.

“T-This is for you.” Yoongi handed you his book but you gasped and almost whined, you’re the cutest thing Yoongi has ever seen and he swears his heart is yours.

“I was going to buy one later!” Still, you take the book from his hands and hug it to your chest tightly.

“It’s okay,” Yoongi blushes and moves his hair out of his face, anything to avoid your pretty eyes,” it’s expensive anyways.”

“Should you be saying that about your own book?” You squinted and saw the top corner of his lip twitch in a smile.

“I can say what I want about it. Plus I’m not the one to price it.”

You smile and Yoongi sighs as you open up the book to admire the pictures he took.

“Well, I think the price is perfect for the amazing art that’s in it. I saw the preview of it and I gotta say I absolutely love the shots you have in here.”

“Y-Yea?” Yoongi blushes.

You hummed,” Yea! I especially love the ones you did of Jungkook. He looks so cool.” You cooed and ran your fingers against the page that Jungkook was on. He was standing on a chair, wearing a black and white striped shirt with leather pants. It was something about the way he looked into the camera that had your heart shaking in your chest.

And Yoongi watched you with his own heart shaking, but for entirely different reasons. It was the way you looked at the photo that had Yoongi convinced that there was more to your friendship with Jungkook.

But Yoongi won’t indulge himself in heartbreak just yet. It’s inevitable, he knows, but he brushes it off to continue the conversation.

“I just hired a new assistant.” Yoongi sipped his wine, he’s always loved being praised but it feels different from you.

“Really? You’re so professional.” You giggled, feeling a little star struck about being friends with someone who needs an assistant.

“You think so?” He blushes.

“Yea,” you notice the way he blushed but brush it off as him being buzzed,” it’s kinda cool.”

“Let me introduce him, he’d around your age.” Yoongi points to his assistant and you notice he has a familiar shaped head but don’t think mote about as you follow Yoongi.

Yoongi taps his assistant on his shoulder“Y/n meet my assistant,” Yoongi smiles, but when his assistant turns around you instantly realize why the back of his head looked so familiar, of course it’s him,” Kim Tae-“

“T-Taehyung?” You almost gasped, he looked equally as surprised seeing you. Especially since you were wearing something he never thought he’d ever see you in.

“H-Hi Y/n,” He blinks,” I didn’t know you’d be here.”

“You two know each other?” Yoongi looks in between you and Taehyung.

“We’re friends,” You say with a tiny bit of blush on your cheeks,” we go to the same college.”

Taehyung looks down at his feet, a bit embarrassed that that’s all he is to you,” Yea.”

“Oh.”

It’s awkward. So very awkward. Even Yoongi feels it, clearly there was history there, whether good or bad it was there. Yoongis eyes squint as he observes you both but before he can come into any conclusions he hears a couple glasses shattering behind him.

“Ah Fuck,” Yoongi downs the rest of his wine,” excuse me I better go see if everything is okay.”

Awkward silence surrounds you both. You haven’t spoken to Taehyung in a while so the air feels tense. But you want to be nice and try to move on, you won’t lie when you think that you’ve missed him.

“How is it working with Yoongi?” You try to ease the thick air around you two but you can’t help but feel even more awkward.

“I‘m really liking it,” he replies with a happy grin but the wine he’s had makes his brain fuzzy,” it’s a big change from my last job since I’d sit around in his studio all day- it was so boring but Hyung keeps me really busy now.” He drank the last of his wine and licked his lips,” I’m really grateful he hired me.”

Maybe it’s your own wine from earlier buzzing in your head but something doesn’t feel right about what he just said. You remember him telling you that he was just so busy with his new job but now it’s like he’s changed his whole story. You felt a tightness in your chest that you know won’t go away until you get your heart broken.

Did he lie to you?

Was he actually not busy?

Why would he lie?

Taehyung continues, breaking your train of destructive thoughts,” how do you know Hyung?”

“Uhm,” you bit your lip,” he’s Jungkook's roommate, he introduced me to him.”

Jungkook.

So you’re still friends with him then?

Taehyung still doesn’t like the guy, but you specifically told him to mind his business. So he guessed for the time being he will.

“Small world.”

“Yea.”

Awkward silence again.

You’re about to make conversation again but thankfully Jungkook comes to your rescue with a plate filled with cupcakes. But once he sees Taehyung, his smile instantly falls. He won’t be mean to him though, for your sake.

“Hey.” Jungkook hands you the plate and you happily take it.

Taehyung feels tension even worse than before, but he’ll respect him for you,”Hey.”

You then to Jungkook and wiggle your brows at him,“Guess what?”

“Chicken butt?” Jungkook smirks.

“No,” You lightly push him,” Taehyung is Yoongis new assistant, isn’t that cool?”

“Super cool.” Jungkook shrugs and ignores the way Taehyungs jaw clenches.

There’s another awkward silence but then Yoonji walks in very fashionable late and it’s like the whole room stops to look at her. She definitely knows how to make an entrance, within reason, she looks immaculate, absolutely stunning and now you believe you’ve seen what true beauty is. She’s wearing a simple red dress that hugs her curves and her long black hair was curled and almost framed her shoulders. You think you even hear Taehyung gasp. Jealousy surges through your veins because you’ve never seen him look at anyone the way he’s looking at her. His cheeks are tinted pink and your heart sinks in your chest. You’re too scared to look at Jungkook but you want to see how he looks starstruck.

But to your surprise, he’s looking at you.

He has a look in his eyes you don’t recognize at all and you almost feel like he hasn’t even realized Yoonji arrived. But he waves and smiles at her and then goes back to you. The icy cold feeling you felt vanishes into thin air and is replaced with warmth. Jungkook bobs his head to question you but you just smile and nod your head. You feel squishy, relieved almost, forgetting all about the jealousy you felt with Taehyung.

Yoongi calls over Taehyung to introduce him to Yoonji, so you're now left alone with Jungkook who was now stuffing his face with the cupcakes he brought. But you couldn’t help but stare at Yoonji and the way she moved, she was gorgeous and had everyone around her smiling.

“She looks gorgeous.” You sigh, feeling immense jealousy but for a whole different reason. You then whisper a small confession that had Jungkooks heart break in a million pieces,” I wish I was pretty like her.”

You don’t realize that you said it out loud, not until Jungkook stops eating and places his hand that still has a cupcake in it, on your shoulder. He makes you face him and you freeze in place,” You are pretty, you’re so pretty, gorgeous even.”

You look away, embarrassed that he heard you,” you’re just saying that because you’re my friend.”

”Fuck no,” Jungkook scoffs,” I might be your best friend in this entire world but when I say you’re gorgeous I mean it, I’m going abso-fucking-lutely bananas because of how pretty you are right now.”

Your cute pout starts turning into a shy smile that Jungkook wishes he could memorize and see forever,” I’m making you go bananas?”

“Fuck yea you are,” He wraps his arm around you, choking you in his hold. A habit that you’ve grown to love. Jungkook feels you relax in his arms and that’s when he gets a brilliant idea.

He knows exactly what to do to cheer you up,” Wanna get outta here?” He wiggles his brows and you giggle like a girl in love.

“Yes.”

You and Jungkook sneak away from the party before anyone notices. It was easy since they were practically all over Yoonji. He takes you to a food truck nearby that he claims to have the best tacos in town. You’re both sitting waiting for your food when the wind starts feeling a little chillier, it nips at your skin and you feel yourself starting to shiver. Jungkook notices and takes his jacket off, you immediately start shaking your head no because it won’t fit you but he glares and threatens to beat you up again. Jungkook wraps it around your shoulders and you cave and snuggle into it. It smells like his cologne and you contemplate wether or not you can get away with keeping it.

He sits back down but you notice he starts rubbing his hands together.

“Are you cold?”

“Nah,” he sniffles,” tough guys like me don’t get cold.”

“You’re shivering.”

“Out of excitement for those tacos.” He smirks.

“You’re cold.”

“Cold hearted.”

Now it’s your turn to glare at him.

“Okay fine it’s a little chilly but nothing I can’t take.”

“Here.” You hand him back his sweater but he refuses.

“No.”

“Take it back.”

“No,” He turns around in his chair to avoid you,” you take it.”

“I have my blazer on anyways,” you plead but he continues to ignore you,” Kookie take it.”

“It’s cropped, you clown, not the same thing, you take it, I can’t have you freezing up on me, what kind of man would I be if I let my girl turn into a popsicle?”

My girl?

Bells ring in your head and you realize that he hasn’t realized what he said himself. He’s still looking away, ignoring the jacket in your hands.

He was joking, don’t read too much into it.

You’re just friends.

He probably says that to all his girl friends.

You try to brush it off but you start feeling squishy and fluffy, he just called you his girl and you can’t seem to remain calm. You sigh and Jungkook looks back at you, he sees you snuggling with his sweater again and he feels that same peace he did a couple days ago. His jacket will probably smell like you now and he won’t acknowledge the tiny bit of excitement he feels from getting to have something that has you on it. He blushes and you both don’t realize that you’re thinking of each other and the possibilities of what it would be like if maybe you were more than friends.

A few minutes later your order is ready and is entirely devoured by Jungkook. You aren’t that hungry because he called you my girl. But you do eat one or two to calm your nerves down. There’s a comfortable silence that envelops you two but is broken when he claps his hands and rubs his full belly.

“Wanna sleep over?”

“I can’t, You’re going to want to stay up late playing animal crossing again and I gotta be up early.”

Jungkook squints his eyes and scoffs,” what for?”

“I’m meeting my new friend for brunch.” You shake your head at his sudden pout.

“New friend?” Jungkook gasps,” are you replacing me?”

“No!” You try to hide the way your lip curls into a smile,” I would never, you’re my best friend.”

“Damn right I am.” He smirks but feels his heart drop a little.

“She’s someone I met on Instagram.”

“Wow, being an IG Baddie has its perks I guess,” He looks impressed,” free clothes and meeting new people.”

“Im not an IG baddie!” You scoff but fail because of the chuckle you let out,” ig baddies are like sexy.”

“Y/n,” he scoffs,” you’re an IG baddie but let’s get you home. I’m cold as shit.”

You chuckle before lightly smacking his arm, you feel oddly happy right now, too happy to realize that Jungkook is itching to hold your hand. He settles for an arm around your shoulder and brings you in to kiss the top of your head.

Jungkook walks you to your door, claiming to be your body guard since, in his own words,’ Baddies need to be protected from weirdos.’ but you had a feeling he just wanted to talk a little bit more. You won’t deny that it makes you feel some kind of way.

“So.” Jungkook leans on the wall like a hot bad boy and you melt inside.

“I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Right. Goodnight Y/n,” Jungkook leans down, his lips grazing your cheek until it meets the corner of your lips in a soft peck. You feel your heart shatter but in the most perfect way possible, you forget how to breathe and only remember when he pulls aways with a shy smile on his face,” I’ll see you tomorrow.”

He doesn’t wait for you to reply but he looks back at you one more time and smiles again before walking away. You don’t know what’s happening in your chest but you don’t hate this feeling.

You like it a lot, you think you might even love it.

“I didn’t know he had another building,” Bora says as she looks around the building they just entered. The whole group planned to all meet up at Jin’s studio building for a photoshoot. You suggested it. Well, you and Jin. It would be a fun idea to take family photos of your friends and yourself, plus a whole group picture together. 

“He has more buildings actually,” Yeonjun says, walking towards the group. “Good morning everyone, you all look great. Are we complete?” He says, looking around, making sure everyone is here. 

“Yes, we’re all here,” Namjoon says, looking at everyone. “All but Jungkook, Rina, and Sian, and Jin hyung’s entire family. But I’m sure they’re already up there, right?” 

Yeonjun nods. “Yes, they’re already in Studio B. I’ll help you all get there, follow me please.” The kids all run up and follow Yeonjun to the elevator while the parents walk right behind them. 

“Wait,” Byul says, looking at her boyfriend. “What does Jin even do?” She says. “All I know is that he’s a CEO and works in an office but I didn’t know he had all this.” She gestures around her. Sarang nods.

“Isn’t it like a place for photos and stuff, and videography that’s why we’re here~” Sohyun answers, she knew a bit more about it considering she was the first new girl to come. Yuna, Rina, and you obviously already know everything.
