I don't know about you, but I really hate mentality that says that we don't get good animated projects anymore, especially when these exist.

And there's more.

You know, as the concept of “zombifying fungi” becomes more and more popular, I notice it still referred to everywhere as like a “brain parasite.” So I guess a lot of people overlooked or forgot how in 2019 it was discovered that cordyceps and other similar fungal parasites leave the brain and nervous system completely untouched. They only control the muscles. They use chemical signals to make the muscles flex in real time where they want to go :)

hermes in hadestown is the exact opposite of an unreliable narrator. a tortured narrator. a little *too* reliable. incredibly aware of exactly what is happening at any given moment, vaguely spoiling it for you in the beginning, despairing every second of it. but ultimately motivated to continue to tell the story over and over and over with a smiling face for the sake of the audience, and for the sake of the characters themselves, singing it again to keep them alive. knowing how it will end, but singing it again so that the cycle may restart and eurydice may come back to life. enduring the misery of it all, over and over, holding the knowledge of what will come to pass but continuing anyway to see orpheus happy just one more time before it all goes down in flames again.

how do the LIs act when (and *if*) they get jealous?

ronin - he won't care tbh. ronin isn't the jealous type. he might play it up to you "aw, spendin' so much time with angel, what's a devil gotta do to get his due?" but in his hearts of hearts he knows you'll always come back to him. he's corrupted you, made you his: why would he be jealous when he knows you're his?

angel - wouldn't get jealous, mostly because she's too busy to be jealous. if you're flirting with someone else, she's more likely to feel inadequate and blame herself. if ur trying to make her jealous, she would get insecure and try to win u back. but she'd also hide her feelings under a smile like nothing is wrong :)

misaki - would get super clingy and attached to you, mostly because they're scared of losing you.

v - would proudly proclaim you to be his lover to anyone who even looks at you both. would threaten with sophistication when provoked.

do u have anything to say about the physical and philosophical change from a Body to a Corpse? when everything in the body stops so it can become something else?

i have SO many thoughts about the philosophical transition from Body to Corpse, and the objectification of the corpse and how that both contrasts and reflects the objectification of the body - the corpse is accepted as unquestionably an Object, a Thing, which is part of where the horror and revulsion associated with it comes from, but objectifying the body, though ultimately socially acceptable and even encouraged, is widely criticised, and can cause offence. partly, of course, because the body is a representative of the living and one's awareness and self-identity, while the corpse has no such inhabitant remaining within it to take offence to being on the receiving end of that objectification (only any projections of the living). the corpse forces us to reckon in a way nothing else can with the nature of the body as nothing more than meat and impulses, and the fragility of the connection anchoring our sentience to it. we are behind the incredibly delicate wheel of a vehicle whose complexity and capacity to impact the world around it defies description. the corpse is the ultimate, undeniable existential revalation, showing us as we are, brutally honest and laid bare. we can adorn it in any number of comforting layers in an attempt to distance ourselves from it, but none of it will spare us from what lies beneath when our turn comes to cross the threshold ourselves.

My companion @dghdabigbang art for @osmundpriestt’s fic that’s the way you showed me that i wasn’t quite alone, loved working on this with them it was soooo fun and I definitely did not get carried away on my end none whatsoever.

can you imagine how freaky shark mermaids would be like unlike sharks, shark mermaids would have actual arms/hands and could rely on touching things with their hands to see if they’re prey rather than having to bite like sharks do. like youre just swimming in the ocean and suddenly you feel a strong grip on your leg, you freak the FUCK out because uh what????? the fuck??? youre swimming alone in the ocean??

a head pops out of the water, dorsal fin pointed from its back and it just points at you and says in a low whisper: “i thought you were a seal. please dont swim alone like this, im sorry i scared you i just wanted to see what you are” and then disappears back into the depth. what the fuck.
