part two of FE Agarthan-inspired helmet designs! More notes under the cut. part one and part three
The first one is meant to look completely biological and alien. There's still much we don't know about the Agarthans. By 'fused', I think that they've become a part of the armour. The advantage of the biological armour may be self-healing.
The middle one is a more techonological design based off Shambhala's in-game appearance. The red triangle is a screen, which glows. The gas mask may indicate noxious attacks.
The captive is the only one with a human appearance, and implies that they've been capturing people from the surface to mind-control as soldiers. It's like a Roman gladiator helmet, but the front grille resembles the Agarthan flag, and it's padlocked shut, along with the wires conneting to the brain and the antenna. The armour is also oxidizing, as it's generic stock.
absolutely mossed up
some older helmet designs! they're loosely based off the Agarthans from FE3H, but we have so little info on those guys that these may as well be original. Design notes under the 'read more'! part two and part three
So my overall idea for these is that they're a status symbol and personal identifier amongst generals within 'Those Who Slither', and they're not really meant to be as defensive as a regular helmet, due to their powerful magical and technological defenses. They're mostly meant to inspire fear and awe. For all of these, I tried to alter the silhouette/read of the human head, and incorporate or alter the eyes in some way, as I feel it's the number one identifier of another person, and removing that adds to the sense of fear of the unknown/inhumanity.
First one is pretty obviously just me trying to incorporate as many horns as possible onto a skull until it has a unique silhouette. The faceplate is based on an animal skull.
The middle one is a bunch of crab-like legs, which in my mind twitch over the armour. Crustaceans have a complex set of plates on the underside where their many legs meet, and I wondered how it would look if all the legs curled over a face. The last one is a horse's skull with a bunch of accessory, and represents the glorification of war. It has a big Roman plume, chariot-wheel designs on the spaulders, blood-like beads from the tasseled headress, a red ribbon out the back, and a halberd-shaped spike on the front. The spikes on the shoulders are three-sides blades, which produce irregular, difficult-to-heal wounds.
