hello ! ⭐ my name is Leon. he/him pronouns nd masculine prefixes plz. ⭐ im a 16 year old demiromantic-aceflux (aroace) gay intersex transmale/transmasculine from Seattle, WA. im moving to PDX (Portland, OR) in about 2-1.5 years. ⭐ im catholic-agnostic(?) and yes im 10000000000...% pro-LGBTQIA+, pro-choice, pro-immigration, etc. etc.

this trans day of visibility, i want to highlight and celebrate intersex trans people.
society ignores intersex trans people and tries to erase this overlap. and also ignores complex intersex experiences around gender. society denies our intersexuality, or our transness, or both. even in queer circles we are often seen as "basically cis" or "basically trans" or "intersex aka own separate species that can have nothing in common with other queer people."
intersex trans people are often denied gender affirming care. intersex trans people get their bodily autonomy attacked both as intersex and trans. even in trans accepting circles like gender clinics, we often face ignorance and incompetence.
people feel entitled to know and question our anatomy, physiology, transition goals, identities — everything about us.
our bodies belong to us. our identities belong to us. our experiences belong to us.
we deserve bodily autonomy. we deserve representation. we deserve recognition. we deserve celebration. we deserve pride.
intersex trans people, i love you.

can't believe im saying this - im very much enjoying spring break cuz, my sanity has been restored. and i have 2 months left to deal with those two, who lied about serious $h!t, be a narc, hurl slurs, abused me and my friends, and a kind loving partner who threatened (death and grape) me cuz im a mixed race person and im asexual. pipe down cuz u both needa shower with that nasty personality with yours. if you hurt any of my other friends yer gone.
seriously guys, breaks help with mental health, i feel alive, maybe cuz it's also seasonal depression killing me ;-)

The first dump is a potentially useful ahoge reference chart. I drew NY and MA a while ago, but then this week I suddenly felt like doodling a bunch of headshots (even though headshots seem to be the only things I can actually draw in terms of cartooning… XD). I did all of them by memory, so I apologize if I drew them incorrectly or if I forgot anyone. :’3
The second picture is one that I drew shortly after Hurricane Sandy hit the Northeast. I never finished it (and it would be pretty outdated if I did now, haha), but basically it is of CA calling NY to make sure he and everyone else are alright out East. Aw.
And the last one is just a potpourri of doodles of OCs drawn over the past few months, most of which are of CA/Brett. There is a little picture at the very bottom, though, of my headcanon of what FL, TX, and CA looked like when they were kids (all three of them would have brown hair).

So this last Wednesday (Georgia Day~), I got to chat with some friends I met through the State-tan Project during a join.me screenshare held by the amazing Siri! It was so nice getting to talk to each other again and watch Siri draw some fabulous artwork.
I got inspired and started doodling my California OC for old times’ sake instead of doing my essay hahahaha. Pictures are kind of… random, but at least the subject matter is consistent, right? XD

At 4:31 AM on January 17th, 1994, people all over southern California were startled into terrified awakeness by the ground below them lurching into motion. This shaking lasted from ten to twenty seconds, depending on individual account and the observer’s location. Once it was over, much of Los Angeles plunged into a confused terrified cold dark morning, without electricity, without being certain of the structural soundness of their homes, under the threat of broken gas and electric lines sparking fires, not knowing when the next aftershock would hit. When daylight came, the damage became more apparent and tangible: shredded freeways, walls fallen away from hospital buildings, collapsed parking structures, pancaked apartment buildings. The toll of the earthquake was eventually counted to be over $20 billion, and 59 human lives.
The 1994 earthquake had a magnitude of 6.7, which is not actually particularly large, in terms of seismic energy release. But when the source of an earthquake is directly under a densely-populated area, it does not need to be very large to cause serious damage. This earthquake occurred on a previously unidentified fault under the Reseda neighborhood in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, though the direction in which the fault slipped led to the strongest shaking occurring north of the epicenter (with the worst damage in the Northridge neighborhood, which is why the 1994 event is commonly known as the “Northridge quake”). In many of these areas, the shaking approached the acceleration of gravity; these were the strongest ground motions ever recorded in an urban setting at the time. Part of the reason the motions were so strong is that the fault which caused them had not slipped for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, which meant that it had a great deal of built-up strain to release. The fault’s quietness, and the fact that it has no obvious trace on the surface of the earth, is why nobody realized it was there until well after the ground above it was covered in suburbia: on January 17th, 1994.
The Northridge earthquake (as well as the 1971 M6.6 San Fernando and 1987 M5.9 Whittier Narrows quakes) was a literal and figurative wake-up call for earthquake hazard in the greater Los Angeles area. It led to substantial revision of construction codes for buildings and freeways alike, as well as revisions to zoning laws near active faults. It also spurred much additional research into identifying hidden faults in urban areas. And certainly, it left an unforgettable impression on everyone who experienced it, which hopefully led to a better sense of awareness and preparedness for at least some of them. After all, even though the fault that caused the 1994 earthquake is unlikely to slip like that again in our lifetimes, there are hundreds of other faults in California capable of earthquakes of that size. The timing will always be a surprise, but what to do once it happens shouldn’t be.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ve seen so many posts of people arguing or being upset over this celebrity or that musician being shitty and supporting a genocide, not to say these conversations of people being held responsible shouldn’t happen, (they should). But if you’re going to spend so much time obsessing over celebrities, the least you can do is spend 2 minutes watching a video of someone who is actually in Palestine.
