Monaca Towa Headcanons!
As I did with Nagisa, I’ve compiled a list of headcanons for my babygirl as well. They get darker the further down you go, so be aware of that!
- Monaca is autistic! And also a bi icon
- She’s ambidextrous, and likes to surprise people by showing off her ability. She calls it her magic trick!
- She’s incredibly fond of physical affection, and loves being cuddled, picked up, and hugged. It makes her feel very safe and wanted.
When they got along, Monaca and Kotoko would snuggle up together to watch movies. She even let Kotoko play with her “adorbs” hair!
- Monaca is surprisingly skilled at playing the piano, but of the WOH, only Nagisa has heard her do it. Her father bought her one for her birthday to “keep her out of his sight”… jokes on him though.
- She has a particularly sweet scent, akin to vanilla buttercream icing.
- She’s called Junko “mom” before. Several times, actually.
- Deep down, Monaca truly did love the other members of the WOH. She pushed her feelings down due to both Junko’s influence, and grief for her as well.
- She uses baking as an outlet, because she figured it was less pathetic than… other coping methods that were more harmful. If you’ve read her diary, you get the idea.
- When feeling particularly tense or distressed, Monaca experiences auditory hallucinations.
- When Nagisa slapped her, she actually became terrified of him. It reminded her too much of her father. Something switched inside Monaca, and she felt the need to protect herself at all costs, showing him no mercy.
When you really think about it, the concept of Izuru Kamukura is absolutely horrifying. He’s a superhuman being built from the body of an ordinary teen. There is practically nothing that anyone else can do better than him. He shouldn’t exist. He’s not meant to exist, but he does— as a man-made bastardisation of God’s creation.
He was made to emulate perfection and divinity. “Silly humans, you can’t create a god out of mortal flesh!”
… or so it was thought.
“waaaah i hate monaca!! she’s satan!!! she manipulated—” yeah and she looked amazing doing it.
More animation! Ragatha spreading the love 💖💗💗
This was a fun one, albeit very difficult. Ragathas patches...her hair...why are you soo hard to animate!!! All has to look 3D, like its Turning in space.
There were many, many very funny cursed frames that I might share soon. But either way I'm really happy how this one turned out aswell, its less exaggerated than Pomnis animation but I was really aiming for cuteness and appeal with Ragatha here.
Enjoy!! 😊
Hot take but I really don’t understand the danganronpa fandom’s relentless hatred of monaca. people will find every single excuse for the other warriors of hope (hell nagisa even PROUDLY admitted to being a war criminal) but you draw the line at monaca because she… manipulated your favourites? you can ignore what kotoko did to komaru but call monaca “satan” for the kiss scene?
i understand that the level of responsibility for the WOH is a very nuanced issue because 1. they’re all children who were heavily abused and indoctrinated, and 2. they’ve all committed some very, very serious crimes. what i can’t grasp is why excuse all of them but one? it’s a really strange double standard.
If anyone was wanting context for the war crimes thing:

I’ve had this udg theory for a while, and I guess it’s time to share it: what if part of the reason Monaca tried to get Nagisa killed was out of jealousy?
I mean, think about it. Hear me out:
Nagisa was considered an “elite” because of his academic achievements. He was widely recognised as being intelligent, despite that being learned rather than inherent.
On the other hand you have the naturally intelligent Monaca who was only known for being the sweet, friendly, “life of the party” girl. For all she had to offer, nobody truly recognised her achievements, or cared about her.
Now consider Monaca’s dialogue during the infamous kiss scene. No, not that part. I mean this:
“You have such a hard time, everyone has high expectations of you because you’re so smart. And you even have high expectations of yourself. And you’re always suffering from that, right?”
You can almost sense that there’s undertones of anger and sarcasm in there. It’s as if she’s saying: “Ohh wooow. You’re burdened by everyone’s high expectations of you because you’re sooooo smart. That must be soooo hard for you.” And then she follows it up with:
“But Monaca won’t expect anything of you. From the very start I never expected anything of you. That’s why I kept the Successor a secret. After all, you’re just a weak, weak little child that no one expects anything from. Maybe nobody ever expected anything if you in the first place. You probably just thought they did.”
There’s two ways to interpret this. One is that she’s taunting him out of boiling jealousy and rage, and the other is that she’s projecting her own trauma. Or both.
It’s kind of difficult to tell, because we never really see Monaca blatantly express anger (aside from her feigned tantrums, which don’t really count). Perhaps she’s so used to her feelings being dismissed that she only expresses it through passive aggression or quiet anger. Or maybe I’m thinking too deeply into this. Idk.
