“a girl’s room is very personal”
“Sometimes, even with a film I really love, I cannot tell the story precisely. Sometimes I cannot even tell what happened chronologically. But I’ll have flashes of some things. Sometimes it looks almost like a still. What I know, what I can remember is the emotion I felt. I know I loved a film because I remember feeling good in the film or feeling odd when I came out, either in tears or touched or mad.”
— Agnès Varda, from an interview with Melissa Anderson, 2001 (via filmografie)
"So often, a visit to a bookshop has cheered me, and reminded me that there are good things in the world."

i just don’t think people truly understand the weight that accompanies getting all of your self worth from academic validation. neglecting sleeping and eating to revise. never being able to truly escape from school even when you go home because you’re always thinking about it, even in the back of your head. wanting to throw up at the mere idea of failure. dreading getting exam results even if you think you did well. feeling like you’re nothing if not successful. the caving feeling from having everyone’s unwavering confidence but none of your own. the pressure that piles on from everyone around you. beating yourself up if you pass instead of achieve. shaking when writing essays even if you know what you’re talking about. planning your entire life around school. burning out and then getting mad at yourself for doing so. it is exhausting.
