After reading about the singing reader with P I had the funny thought that P seeing that the reader could change his normal voice to a singing one. He had the mistaken idea that maybe the reader could have a vinyl record inside his mouth or that there was a music box inside the reader's body. That maybe there is a musical object inside, trying to figure out where it is kept. Until eventually he is explained and becomes fascinated about the process of singing and the vocal cords. <3
THIS IS SUCH A CUTE IDEA BYEEEEEE
I really love the idea of P not fully knowing how the human body works and in turn always equating it to a machine. Literally at first, like you said thinking speech is the result of a music box or something of that ilk, that eyes are mini recorders that project into the brain and so on.
So I imagine if you sing in front of him he ends up just like, opening your mouth and peering inside to see what the hell is going on in there - maybe he even sticks his fingers in to feel around [and accidently ends up gagging you which horrifies him because Why Did You Do That].
And it translates to the rest of your body too, lots of poking and prodding and feeling to see of you have the same parts he does, if your chest whirls and your body twitches. He's not an idiot by any means!!! But he's just soooo fascinated with how the human body works.
And I think the best way he understands it - at first anyway - is, like you and I said, by comparing it to machines. And that's probably the best way to go about explaining it too. Once he gets the basics of biology down it all becomes near childs-play to him [the benefits of being a puppet is an excellent memory system].
Side note side note!!! He absolutely loves singing together, more so after he knows how your voice works. It's so so delightful to him and he thinks the contrast of your natural voice with his more metallic one is amazing [he still teases you about having a music box in there though, just for giggles].
Your robot s/o doesn’t really experience sexual arousal, but they like to make you feel good because your reactions are so cute and interesting.

cw reader has an unspecified accent, autistic!spencer, just fluff !
“very fancy, em!” you smiled, admiring emily's new necklace.
“fancy.” someone repeated from behind you.
you and emily turned around to see spencer holding his coffee, wide eyed.
“fancy.” he said again, copying your tone of voice, smiling at the sound of it.
he repeated it again, small smile on his lips. you smiled back. you knew spencer was autistic, and had some vocal stims, including echolalia.
“sounds kinda funny in my accent, doesn’t it?” you giggled, repeating the word yourself, in an even thicker version of your accent.
“very fancy!” he said, copying your voice perfectly, now grinning.
“you guys are sickeningly adorable.” emily laughed, both of you blushing bright red.
