you are better. by default, you are better. you beat him over and over again. he KNOWS that you beat him. in a straight fight, in a 1v1, you will win every time. but of course, this implies that it will be a 1v1. this implies that he won't cheat.

you build yourself up. you harness the power of everyone and everything, every last scrap of knowledge and power you can accrue, you try so hard and you tear yourself apart to become something new. this is not magic. this is not chaos. this is YOU. this is your intellect, this is your design. everything that is happening right now is because you stood up and said that it's happening now. because you give a damn, because you fight as hard as you can every day even when all you want to do is prove to somebody, anybody, that you are REAL and that NOBODY CAN TAKE THAT FROM YOU--

and he wins. he wins because the universe says so. he doesn't deserve to win. he's lazy, and arrogant, and he thinks everything will just work out. you spend days-weeks-months-years trying to figure it out-- and then you see the footage. the most damning thing of all.

he couldn't even be BOTHERED to collect the emeralds himself. the victory he lords over you, the body he stole from you, the identity he stomped on and destroyed-- he couldn't be bothered. the world you were going to make was stolen away by sheer happenstance, because other people did his work for him. because he couldn't be fucking bothered to try.
