“You just hate sex workers” but I’m advocating to stop the abuse and violence they go through daily
“You just hate sex workers” but I’m advocating for them not to be subjected to sexual illness or infections on the daily
“You just hate sex workers” but I’m advocating to stop them being trafficked and forced into the industry
“You just hate sex workers” but I’m advocating for them to be given higher wages to help them out of the industry
“You just hate sex workers” but I’m advocating to just have them treated as human beings
I love old media warning society of ✨ dangerous butches ✨ bc it’s always
“this woman WILL wear mens shoes and will STEAL YOUR WIFE”
“butch dykes are HANDSOME and GOOD IN BED”
“you WILL be seduced and they have a HIGH SUCCESS RATE”
“they prey on women DISAPPOINTED IN MEN and give them WAY MORE ORGASMS”
“DON’T let your loved ones receive LOVE from AFFECTIONATE LESBIANS”
I’ve already done this once lol but I’d love to talk to other people too!!
reblog if it's okay for your mutuals to message you and create an actual friendship, not just interactions
“All the gays want is to groom my children! They are dangerous to kids! They hate children!”
- A lesbian saw your son struggling, and remembered what it was like to be young and autistic and overwhelmed by her emotions, so she sat down with him every day and helped him until his feelings wasn’t so scary anymore.
- A lesbian was the one who your daughter finally trusted enough to reveal the abuse she was going through by her father when she was at his house and she tried her best to get her help and always be a safe space for her.
- A lesbian overheard your daughter being told by her classmates that she couldn’t play dolls because the dolls weren’t of her race, so she went and bought a dozen barbies of all different races to show her that she belonged.
- A lesbian was the one who you knew you could count on to retrieve your babies when you let people pass them around at church. You knew that she’d keep an eye on them even if she didn’t know you personally. Everyone in that tiny church knew her for it.
- A lesbian defended your son from being harassed on the bus (by other mothers!) and was late to work making sure he was safely on his next bus heading to the food bank.
- A lesbian was your waiter today and she made your baby laugh while she was setting your table and she already knew how to keep all the dangerous items out of reach without you even having to ask.
All anecdotes I could pull off of the top of my head from my own life. I love children, while I don’t want any of my own (and can’t even have ‘em due to infertility anyway) and my connection with them is very odd as a butch lesbian woman. People tell me that my purpose in life as a woman is to have children, and people from the same demographic claim that I only exist to hurt their children. The reality is that, whether you like it or not, gay people exist in the real world and often take on beloved and pivotal roles in your life and your children’s lives that you don’t even realize. We’re here and we always have been, and we’re surprisingly just as normal and human as you are.
Worst part abt being Butch is realizing you look like a man under certain circumstances. Went to a rally today and it was cold so I was wearing my usual baggy jeans, an old biker’s jacket I got from the thrift, boxing wraps bc they help my circulation, a scarf and a mask, feeling great, until I realized I probably looked like a straight white man (terrifying thought) and wished I’d put a pride button or something on my jacket lmao
1) This is disturbing and I feel so sorry for this poor couple
2) Stealing lingerie, underwear, or even sexual toys is a huge pattern among TIMs. I remember a male ex I had (before I realized I was a Lesbian) telling me this story of a friend of a friend. This man was “experimenting with his sexuality/gender” and would continually steal his mother’s dildos to fuck himself in the ass with, not even using condoms as a barrier, and then putting it back, and eventually she found out and just let him have it. (I have no issue with anal if that’s what you want to do so don’t get me wrong, but it does have a higher risk of bacterial contamination so extra cleaning and/or protection needs to be involved)
And I had a surprised and disgusted reaction to this, obviously, and he accused me of being transphobic and got pretty upset about that. At the time I wasn’t even a radfem but the idea of people stealing intimate items that touch genitals, and especially returning them so they can be re-used unknowingly by the original owner, is just really gross and inappropriate? I don’t really care what it is or what your purpose of doing so is, unless you’re a 10 year old girl who was jokingly putting on her mom’s bra while doing the laundry, it’s incredibly disgusting. And I see stories of that happening over and over again, and I just feel really bad for their poor mothers and sisters because that has to feel like an incredible violation of privacy.
Male secretly abuses his lesbian sister's clothing for god fucking knows how long...... This is so disgusting I don't even know what to say here. (link)
Took me forever to get to this 😭
Favorite Color: I like all of them tbh and it’s constantly changing but my current favorites are darker tones of red and blue
Currently reading: Nothing 💀 dyslexia is a bitch so I haven’t started any books recently. Something I’d really like to read is The Anarchist Cookbook tho
Last Song: “Cherry-Coloured Funk” by Cocteau Twins
Last Movie: Porco Rosso, Studio Ghibli
Last Series: Arcane
Sweet, Savory, Spicy: Savory, I love spice but I have to be particular what I use or my brain just registers it as pain instead of a flavor :(
Craving: Don’t have any bc I’m always nauseous when I get colds. I’m craving for the cold to be over lol
Tea/Coffee: Apple Juice
Currently working on:
-Developing a plot and atmosphere for several lesbian paranormal/fantasy novels/Novellas I’ve been working on
-Making sustainable eco-friendly knickknacks for my house once I move out in a few months (making baskets from recycled materials, cleaning rags from old clothes, grocery bags from old tshirts, etc)
-My battle jacket, I finished the political patches and I need to make the band patches and also get my hands on some spikes
-In a similar vein, I want to diy some of those spikey bracelet things but obv I also need spikes for those
Tagged by @indrid-hot - thanks a bunch!
Favorite Color: A nice, warm, sunny orange - but also honestly most other colors of the rainbow and then some.
Currently Reading: The Tevinter Nights Dragon Age short story collection.
Last Song: L'appuntamento - Ornella Vanoni
Last Movie: Ah, gosh. HM. I haven't watched anything that's not a TV show in a while. I semi-voluntarily caught the last fifteen minutes of Scrooged over the winter holidays I guess?
Last Series: Last series I watched any part of is, as always, "Emergency!" because I will never not be stuck in 70's paramedic hell. If we're talking new-to-me shows, a friend's making me watch Grey's Anatomy (early seasons) once a week, probably because observing my growing despair about the characters' poor life choices is fun. I don't even normally watch medical shows, and yet here we are lol
Sweet, Savoury, Spicy: Savory if I had to pick
Craving: Some good spaghetti with olive oil and obscene amounts of lightly toasted garlic.
Tea/Coffee: Yes please, lol
Currently working on: OH BOY WHAT A QUESTION.
Spinning: Gotland on my spindles (4-ply, one single per spindle, for funsies - except I accidentally mixed up which bits of fiber go with which single on which spindle, so that'll be fun to sort out...), 7oz/200g of red Merino on the wheel (for a crochet hat, followed by 9.5 oz of red and black Merino for a woven scarf). But also 24.5oz/700g of grey Merino. And cotton on the supported spindle. And I've got some laceweight viscose on the mini turkish spindle that I should really work on...
Crocheting: Half a dozen things, including a lacy collar that needs buttons and blocking, a gigantic star-shaped wrap-around shawl, an incredibly boring granny square top for my little sister, and too many others to count.
Art: The Emergency! tarot as the eternal never-ending WIP; I also have some Dragon Age Veilguard related plans revolving around the Grand Necropolis and irl Catacomb Saints and I'd love to get some DA-style tarot cards done for all my player characters.
Writing: I still have a couple unfinished fanfics that need another chapter, as well as two deeply self-indulgent OC/Emergency! crossovers that friends are making me write, and I also have some Dragon Age stuff in the works - though if anyone will ever see that is another question entirely.
Music: Practicing various stuff for LARP; also slowly chipping away at Hozier's Work Song because my partner asked nicely.
With no pressure, I will tag: @geminyde, @caseyscraftycorner, @swords-n-spindles, @alpacazappa, @rosesonneptune, @rose-of-pollux, @zooarchaeologyatdinner, @kalikatze aaaaand I can't decide on a 9th person to tag so whoever wants to do this: You're It!
call us ugly to sell us shit!
Submission is solely a man’s trait and obsession and I will die on this hill.
Men will choose a favorite man in power and then lap at every word from his mouth like a bird eating vomit from it’s parent’s throat. They refuse to read or educate themselves and take pride in the admission they have not read, and therefore not drawn a more independent opinion, since childhood. The patriarchy itself is inherently hierarchical in ways matriarchies never have been, historically. A good soldier, the peak of masculinity to these men, is defined by his ability to obey and submit. You would think boots were flavored like strawberry the way they lick them, but then again, these men do seem to like something big and hard in their mouths.
It mystifies men that women do not take joy in this submission. Why else is it that women are the ones that constantly need to be reminded to submit? It does not come naturally to us the way it does to them. Even the things seem as submission— women cooking and cleaning and doing everything for their male partners— is ultimately submission to the system on the man’s part. Once again, he gives up his agency over his own life to someone else. Once again, he refuses to take responsibility for himself. Once again it is someone else who he is handing himself over to. Men adore submission, both giving and taking it.
This is so me because I’m possessive but not controlling, if that makes sense. Like dress as slutty as you want babe, I’ll make sure nobody bothers you. They can see what only I’m allowed to touch and cry for all I care. You’re mine but you can be whatever and whoever you want to be and I’ll love you for it and make sure you’re a bit obsessed with yourself too.
"my red flag is i can be possessive" like i give a fuck??? if we're out in public hold me by my waist and don't let go. make me sit in your lap if somebody tries to flirt with me. i absolutely want you to be just as obsessive over me because the moment i see a femme check you out, im giving her dirty looks with my arms around you
Ughhhh I’m working on a longer piece about the presence of patriarchy/rape culture in the LGBTQ community (and I know a lot of you are separatists, and I also am, but since it’s socially considered a community we all get lumped in together, hence the problems I’m talking about)
But anyway I’ve been stewing over it for like 2 weeks and thinking of what I want to say but there’s just so much it’s hard to figure out how to lay it all out in a way that makes sense and flows well so people will actually want to stick around and read the whole thing 😭😭 send help
