one time i saw jehovah's witnesses on the street nearby my courses' campus and i didn't know much about rosaries (the person i asked didn't personally use the rosary + its more so a catholic thing) ((in the christian context of rosary use)) and they asked why i wanted to learn more.

i looked at her, nervously chuckled before saying "ah well i- i read my chemical romance fanfiction and- and yeah."

i hope she doesnt know what unholyverse is

getting in a convo about stigmata or catholism (which to be fair doesn't happen often but when it does) is terrible bc when asked where I learned this from I can't just say “well I learned it from this 186k fanfiction about my chemical romance called unholyverse” can I?!

the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible

because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person 

from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating
