How are you Enjoying the Baftas?
I JUST HAD TO MAKE A SEPARATE POST TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE SEES HOW CUTE THIS AZIRAPHALE I PAINTED IS, OKAY. Crowley gave Aziraphale that headband to wear, because that's what the Starmaker does -- gives her Angel a halo of stars.
This is probably my favorite Crowley I've painted so far. I had SO MUCH FUN designing his tattoos for this piece. Please enjoy them in the detail shots.

BOY HOWDY AM I EXCITED TO SHARE THIS ONE WITH YOU ALL. This piece is cover art for @thescholarlystrumpet's wonderful 1940s priest AU fic: For Loving One (Rated E on AO3, mind yer tags) ...which you can and should read, asap. Chapter 10 (of 16!) just went up today, and yes, Strumpet does have the whole fic already written and ready to post, so you won't get abandoned on a cliffhanger. For my part, I wanted to call upon some 1940s aesthetics with a little bit of film noir and some Leyendecker-esque vibes. I hope you like my interpretation! Alsoooooo take some time to check out all the things I painted into that stained glass. I had a hell of a time designing it. --- --- --- If you like my art and want to keep seeing more of it, support me! ko-fi | prints | commission --- --- --- Detail shots from the high-res:
With special thanks to the WINGZ Mag/Maggie's Record Shop Ad 1 chat for supporting me through this stained glass adventure (aka listening to my bitching). @goodomensafterdark
Okay so I bought Rebelle 7 (digital art software meant to mimic physical media) while it is on sale for like ten bucks and gave it a whirl. Naturally, I painted a Crowley portrait.
I dig Rebelle so far. It certainly makes some juicy brushstrokes with the oil paint brushes and the blending is quite nice. I look forward to abusing the software to see if I can break it.
Part 11!
COME ON ANGEL, I'VE GOT A POINT TO PROVE.
The illustrated smutty one-shot continues. Part 7 of who-the-fuck-knows-anymore. A flashback begins to explain how Az got himself into this situation.
Have the whole panel, Tumblr, as a treat.

Crowley be like "I'm finna ruin this man's whole life."
OP this is fantastic and you should maybe swing by Reddit and pop this up on /r/goodomensafterdark, if you haven't already. We'd love it there. 🖤🖤🖤

C: "-not to mention snexism."
A: "Sorry what was that?"
C: "Snake sexism. Snexism. Women don't have it easy in the snake world either."
That didn't sound like a real thing, Aziraphale thought, but he did not voice his concern. Claiming that snexism wasn't real sounded exactly like something a snexist would say.
i have brought her laughing (to my quietly dreaming garden) ------------------------------ The scene: A smoky, velvet-lined speakeasy smudged carelessly somewhere in the pocket of a roaring, glittered New York City, 1924, nighttime. Prohibition is on, but the law books never really dissuade anyone from getting a drink, not if they know where to go. It sure as Hell doesn't stop Crowley from taking her Angel out for a drink, because Aziraphale wanted one. And hey, it's the jazz age, Crowley knows where to get weed again.
This painting is one half of a collaboration I did with my dear friend @thescholarlystrumpet, who wrote a fantastic companion piece on AO3 (Rated M, mind the drug use tag).
“I got something else to liven up your final night in town. If you’re feeling a little… daring.” Crowley looked sidelong at Aziraphale and arched one penciled-on brow. Aziraphale wiggled happily and slid off the stool to sidle closer, until her head was practically on the Demon’s bare shoulder. “Do tell.” Crowley tried not to shiver as she could feel the Angel’s breath against her heated skin, smell the heady potpourri of perfume, wine, and a pinch of ethereal sweat, taste it on her (currently unforked) tongue. She held up the expertly rolled joint between two fingers accented by red painted talons. “It’s been a very long time, I think, since we really… indulged.” Turning her head just so, nearly nose to nose with her friend. “Don’t you think we’ve earned it?” “Why, you wicked temptress,” Aziraphale murmured, her voice low and slightly breathless, sly smile belying any hint of admonishment.

Me? Reblogging my own art?
I would NEVER. I am SCANDALIZED.

DRAMA!CROWLEY, ACTIVATE!
So we meet here again, in front of another flaming-as-anything-ginger Crowley. We can't keep doing this, you know. People will talk.
More info and hi res under the jumpppppppppppp.
I wanted to try my hand at a standalone portrait of Crowley before I jump back into what will inevitably be another Aziracrow portrait---I'm thinking 1920s theme. Flapper Crowley & Aziraphale? But that's for another time.
I wanted to try grey scale under-painting in digital art. A success, I hope? I'm pretty happy with the portrait (for now, give it a week and I'll hate everything about this painting, happens every time!)
I struggled a bit on the eyes in this piece. I normally paint straight color to canvas, so I have a method to my madness with painting eyes. Not so, here! This was new territory. I'm not 100% satisfied, but that just means I need more practice.
ALSO, GOLGOTHA HAIR WITH A BRAID WHAT WHAAAAAT
And because I learned how to paint snake scales for the last portrait, I decide to reprise that theme and torture myself again keep practicing them, this time with iridescence. I wanted to keep the scales low-key, though, almost as if they're just emerging or maybe the viewer caught a momentary glimpse of scales through the veil to an ethereal occult plane. Additionally, I wanted some good creepy claw hands with long fingernails (big fan of creepy, me) for a proper demonic manicure.
About: All digital, all Photoshop. Orig. 7200 x 5400 px. ~1 week of off-and-on painting. Title is taken from Reptile by Nine Inch Nails because I guess I'm still naming art after 30 year old albums? Is this a thing I do, now?
...and if so, can you imagine what I'll have to draw to use lyrics from Hurt in the title?
