Beg Andrew to fuck her even though she's not even into it, because it's not about the need for sex for her, she just wants to be sure, for once, that Andrew loves her. And clearly, she thinks sex is the only thing worthwile she can give - when asked why Andrew should keep her alive and with him, she has no solid answer other than "I can bake", because cooking and fucking are the only two things a woman is for, and if she can do both for Andrew, he will never abandon her no matter how much he hates her.

She even pressures Andrew into drinking because she knows that otherwise, he'll pull away once more, even if he, for once in his amoral life, seems to be genuinely unwilling to "prey on his baby sister".

Hello! i'm glad you brought up in your tags how Ashley spread that rumor about Andrew, because I've seen no one talk about it and it disturbs me so much?? People constantly harassing Andrew, telling him that he deserves to die and how he did something awful to his sister when he had done nothing at all. I thought that I would see some people talk about it by now. But I've seen no one bring it up or I've seen people try to excuse/cover it like 'Oh, maybe Julia actually did the rumor instead' as if the game didn't directly tell us to our face that it was Ashley. It also makes sense why it would be her. She wants no one to be near him, just her. So why aren't people acknowledging this fact more? I say this as someone who enjoys both Andrew and Ashley's characters as horrible people (Though I have hope for them in burial for them to be better to each other, and maybe Ashley's growth out of leyley, but that's just hope- whatever Nemlei does is gonna be good)

they did indeed explicitly tell us that she spread the rumors, and it’s important to note that it was not that andrew is in love with her, it was specifically that he has been raping her since she was a child and her goal was to ruin his social life entirely, make him an outcast nobody wanted to be around and destroy all other relationships for him, current ones and potential future ones. she told people that her brother is a rapist and child molester when he has never laid a finger on her, let’s not bullshit around that.

do i think this means she can’t learn to be good to andrew and recognize and respect that he has personhood? no. in burial we have seen that ashley is capable of change and growth and she can slowly learn to see andrew. but ashley’s actions in the past and in decay are utterly incompatible with her supposedly loving him, caring for him and respecting him as a person, and perceiving him as a human being deserving of those things at all.

i’m absolutely not interested in takes where people claim these two things can be true at once here (in decay and in the past). all of us who have survived abuse have had to accept that someone who abuses you and continuously harms you with no remorse doesn’t love you, no matter how many times they say this, and in decay we left “toxic relationship” and “abusive tendencies causing unintentional harm” behind a long ass time ago. this isn’t toxic and unhealthy, this is abuse on an undeniable extreme level. full stop.
