Zoro's reaction to gear 5 ✨
do you ever think about how zoro doesnt have his own dedicated arc? how he is introduced in the same arc as luffy, the main character? how luffy, upon hearing his name, seeks him out and finds him, zoro, someone who is known for being constantly lost? how he decides that now that he has zoro, the rest of the crew will join as they go, it will happen naturally, that everything will be fine as long as he has zoro? how he wasnt a captain until zoro wasnt his crew man, his first mate, his? and at the same time, zoros story's stagnant, doesnt pick up, doesnt progress, how it almost ends before it could really begin if it wasnt for luffy? how theres no conflict in him joining, no internal fight- just pure acceptance, the matter-of-factly belief and unbelievable devotion within seconds? how their dreams are instantly intertwined, one making the other even more possible together, together?
To me, the craziest thing about this panel isn't the extremely charged handshake, nor the intense eye contact, but rather the perspective.
Furudate is really good at toying with perspective to convey the story's motifs and themes. Here, thanks to the perspective, it looks like the net is above Hinata and Kageyama, when in fact it isn't that tall. In fact, I know it's right between them. But with the way this panel was drawn, it looks like they're facing each other with an unobstructed view.
The imagery here is clear: it doesn't matter that they're on opposite sides of the net now, there's nothing keeping them apart anymore. They stand on even ground, on equal footing, face to face.

If Steven Universe ever returned, what is it that you want to see? Would you like a series that explores on different characters in different episodes? Much like Adventure Time in the later seasons or maybe a prequel series that explores more of the Diamonds backstory?
I've always said this is what my idea is and this Ask was my excuse to draw it finally 😂
Steven falling for every single tourist trap on his road trip without losing even an ounce of enthusiasm for any of them seems like a very Steven thing to me.

Always wanted to do a movie poster redraw of the Great Gatsby so here they are!!
the pirate king and his right hand man
in universe nalu but it's childhood friends to lovers trope with little natsu and little lucy meeting each other by total chance when they're both secluded to cry alone, natsu because of igneel's loss and lucy because of her mother's. then they occasionally meet again by coincidence in random places like the market or in a restaurant or in the middle of a park and they're always so happy when it happens since it's so rare, just as if it was their only bright days among the depressed stuff they're going through, but they have to hide to talk to each other because they're from different worlds and lucy is kind of scared to be seen with him. lucy gifts him with the stuff she originally cooked for her father and natsu shows off his small magic skills and talks shit about gray/erza/mira. that's actually how lucy learns about fairy tail and why she wishes to join.
yet, as they grow up they slowly become distant because of the lack of opportunities, but meet again in hargeon's harbour and it's the best reunion of their life after about 5 years so they immediately get married
Zolu toddler who has a fixation with things in sets of three because of Zoro's swords meeting the Sanpu toddler and is instantly obsessed with her because she has three eyes & it's the coolest thing he's ever seen in his 2 years of life. She in turn is drawn to his dark green hair & attempts to touch it because it looks like the leaves of the plants in her parents backyard garden.
Then as Zoro & Sanji do their usual bickering/fighting they are completely unaware that in the background their kids are swapping pacifiers and holding hands as they begin their slow burn friends to lovers story right under their noses. There won't be a generational rivalry anytime soon like they secretly hoped.
It's actually depressing to do things in your own time, way and opinion. Mostly because people often disagrees with you and they prefer to do what's more popular now, and if you don't follow the trend, you're just a weirdo trying to fit in. A block in a jigsaw puzzle. But don't let it bring you down. There are still people who will accept you for who you are.
