just realized that like. everything Spider did for the people, all the pain and sacrifice he made, all the efforts he made to protect The People and the Sully's with his own life and body as their shield.

enduring torture, not saying a word, being willing to die before they scraped an image from his head. trying to detour the Recoms at the rookery, even get one of them killed, but going out of his way to give bad advice. protecting the Ta'unui the best he could, even if it could have put his own safety at risk (whether he pushed his captors to a breaking point, or became too much of a liability to be left in the field with Q, and Ardmore called for him back). witnessing so much pain with a stiff lip and thick skin. crashing the Sea Dragon, undoubtedly risking his own life but giving the Na'vi the upper hand in the battle. being so docile under Neytiri's knife, bargaining with his own life, for even a chance of his sister being safe. guiding Kiri out of the ship.

all of it. such admirable things. proving his loyalty. his capability. that he wasn't like his father, wasn't a demon. things no teenage boy should ever have to experience or go through, let alone be expected to do. things that should have him honored as a warrior.

it will all be ignored because he's saved one man. he saved the one man that loved him, no matter how terrible he was. he will be treated like the villain everyone suspected he would be, that he would become one day, all because he had mercy— even if Quaritch didn't deserve, it has be acknowledged that his crime was mercy. not being able to watch a man drown. not being able to leave him behind —because he couldn't kill his father.

Spider will not be honored or revered for everything he's done, for the scars left on his mind and body, for any of it, the second the truth is found out. and I doubt there will be many who try and understand, try and see from his perspective, try and look at things from the perspective of Spider, a hurt and neglected boy who was selfish for once in his life.

Spider was stripped of all honor, all the good he did, because of one action. one action in a life of pain and giving and giving and giving and being forced to contort himself to be palatable and non-abrasive and being put second being the designated sacrifice again and again. never knowing an ounce of parental love.

he just wanted his dad.

and like always, the fandom is the worst about it.

Avatar 3 Theory - Spider will become a member of the Metkayina clan in Avatar 3

I was looking at the character poster for Spider (seen below), and I noticed something about it.

Not only was it clear from this photo that this was taken with an older Jack Champion (Spider's actor) than appeared in The Way of Water, but there are a range of other differences from the way that Spider looked in the film (seen below)

These are:

He has an extra strip on his forehead in the image on the left.

He has more beads in his hair in the image on the left

He has a blue body stripe across his cheek in the image on the right, and it is no longer there in the image on the left.

He is wearing either a bone

and finally, he is wearing the body garment in the image on the left that we see Metkayina males wear (as seen in the images below).

It is this, along with the tattoo seen on his arm in this photo (seen below) from an article in EMPIRE Magazine of a scene that did not appear in the second movie, that I realised something...

....I think that Spider either before the start of the movie or during the movie will go through the Metkayina version of Iknimaya.

Iknimaya for the Metkayina is described on the Avatar Wiki to be "...[several] coming-of-age rituals..." which include "...taming a Skimwing and various tests with the members' tulkun spirit brother/sister". It is then stated that after the individual completes the trials "...the member is considered an adult and receives a special article of clothing, their first tattoo, and three beads for their songcord (reference for the Wiki can be found at the bottom of the post).

Given that not only is Spider 16 and might be 17 by movie three, poses a tattoo, the body garment given to males that pass Iknimaya and a selection of beads through his hair, it is clear to see that, in some shape or form, Spider was able to complete the Metkayina version of Iknimaya to some capacity.

Though it would be important to mention that he wouldn't be able to complete trials a few of the trials like taming a Skimwing or gaining a Tulkun spirit brother, as he is human and thus lacks a queue to do so with.

My idea is this, either during the first act of the film or just be its event it is revealed that Spider has been trying to pass the trials of Iknimaya to not only be seen as not only one of the people but also a na'vi and possibly prove himself to others like Neytiri. Yet, due to him being human, he is unable to complete all the trials he is given and so fails in his goal, maybe this also causes further hurt to his relationship with Neytiri (idk). So, knowing that the RDA can give him an Avatar body that would allow him to not only complete the trials but also be seen as one of the family, he goes to them hoping that in exchange for information or something else, they will give him an Avatar body. Not only would this make sense for the next step in his character arc, but it also might have already been teased in the image seen below, which can be found in the same EMPIRE article as the image above. This would be his story for the third and possibly fourth movies.

But anyway, what do you think? Do you think this might be accurate or not?

Part of my beef with the ' what if Sophie was a guy' crowd is how little self awareness they have.

I've been reading one foo many of the 'make Sophie a guy' posts lately and it almost always goes like this

' i know how they could make Sophie into a man, all they need is to rewrite the entire story and rewrite the entire character until using a man makes sense'

And I find that a little ironic because absolutely all their posts recognize that Benedict's original story would have to be unrecognizable in order to change Sophie into a man. Its like they almost get the point, but fly way past it.

Just be honest with yourselves, and admit that you'd be willing to throw Benedict's cannon love interest and his cannon love story into the garbage for the sweet satisfaction of Benedict being gay.

I'm all for advocating for gay representation in media but the way some people go about it and demanding the outright rewrite and removal of one beloved character so that another can be written as gay, that just annoys me.

Personally I HC Benedict as Bisexual, but that's all it is a Headcannon, its part of my fanfiction mindspace until proven otherwise. I'm not out there demanding Sophie be deleted to affirm it. And I just wish some of my fellow fans would be better in that aspect

I love the prompt about with the spouses already being friends before they meet their Bridgertons. I wonder about Colin and Eloise's reaction to seeing Pen again. I can only imagine the scene they'll make. As you wrote, their not subtle. Poor Penelope trying to get away from both but espacially Colin, and Philip trying to distract them, only to be distracted by Eloise.

i can imagine that when almost everyone is with a Bridgerton they’re just making fun of each other and when the last couple get together everyone just find it an hilarious coincidence!

As you can see I have a very popular request for this au.

I like to think that they still fall in love in the same order they did in the books, or start hooking up that way at least.

At the very least Simon and Daphne are the first ones to get together. They're the friendliest and don't have a weird block/history between them the way polin and franchel would have.

They might be what also gets the two groups to come together as one.

The friend group is hesitant when interacting with basically the definition of old money and posh Bridgertons with Simon being the exception. Michael and Phillip are the spares, Gareth was treated like a spare, Penelope left high society years ago, and Kate, Sophie, and Lucy were never part of that life. So when saphne started dating Daphne was determined to formally meet the people her boyfriend considered his siblings, he's met her's after all.

The boys were easy enough, all of them were gentlemen, and Simon was there to help.

Daphne was determined to meet the girls on her own and invited them over for tea. It was pretty awkward to say the least when it started. None of them were mean or anything but it was hard to find common ground. That's when Penelope took pity on Daphne and dug through her head for a common topic.

She landed on music. Daphne lit up talking about it and in turn it helped bring out the other girls artistic sides with Kate's watercolors, Sophie's tattoos, Penelope's writings and Lucy's photography.

This tea time is how the points game started. In a way it was Daphne asking for the others to let her know if she starts doing something posh and she would try to lower her score each time.

Then with Daphne coming around more often her siblings followed behind until they were all one giant group hanging out and giving the Bridgertons posh points.

The Cowper's neighborgs AU (the Marina situation)

In this AU Penelope wasn't as close to the Bridgerton as she is in the original. Because they're not neightborgs, El and Pen never got really close. I still think that she fell for Colin because both in the TV series and in the show they met by accident while they were children, the only difference is that since she didn't get to know him they didn't became friend until way later.

So back to the Marina situation, I think that since they weren't as close she wouldn't have reveal Marina's secret on Lady Whistledown BUT she would have tried to convince her not to do it because it wasn't right and she still liked Colin and he didn't deserve to be deceived like that. So we still had the speach were Marina told Penelope to give up because Colin didn't see her like a woman.

I like to think that by then Cressida and Penelope had grown closer so this time she went to Cressida and told her what happen. Cressida started the rumor of Marina being pregnant. Penelope didn't tell her anything but Cressida wasn't stupid she noticed more things especialy now that she spend more time at the Featherington's house. Then Penelope had to report it in the whistledown afterward.

Cressida never liked Marina. She saw her friendship with Penelope as tresspassing on her relationship with Penelope. She wouldn't admit it at this point but she vallued Pen as a friend, since she struggle to make friend and since she had a bad attitude she was scarred Pen might prefer Marina. So it was some kind of revenge against her.

Heyyy I had this funny/ cute idea

Now imagine a six year old Gaara! Reader, you know she’s trying to have fun (except that nobody wants to play with her) and she’s trying to find a hobby! So she chose gardening and.. it’s super fun for her! She even got a small garden for herself where she plants different flowers! Now Gaara! Reader thinks to herself ‘hmmm.. I want to give my family a nice flower! Very cute! But then she walks to her family, holding a vase of flowers inside, kind of excited to show them her flowers! But the moment one of them turns around they accidentally knock over the vase on her hand. It’s no biggie! Right? Well it would be not a biggie if Gaara! Reader looked at them with almost teary eyes and trying not to cry! They do everything to stop her from crying, why? Because of Bruce! And.. she started to cry.. damn.. and who was behind them? Bruce. And he is not happy.

It started so sweetly.

Gaara!Reader, age six, had decided today was going to be special. She’d finally found something she liked — not weapons, not sparring, not scaring people away by just staring at them.

Gardening. Soft soil. Pretty colors. Flowers that didn’t run away when she got too quiet or too intense.

She even had a little patch in the corner of the Manor’s greenhouse labeled "G’s Garden." She liked that. It felt like her name was allowed somewhere.

So after weeks of tending her flowers with her tiny gloved hands, she finally had something to offer. Something she made, something beautiful.

She carefully arranged the blooms — soft blues, pinks, whites — in a little vase she carried like it was sacred.

She never smiled, but today there was the tiniest upward curve of her lips as she tiptoed down the hall.

"I'm going to give them flowers... and they'll like me today."

She spotted her family in the living room. Dick was joking, Jason was drinking coffee, Tim had a book, Damian was glaring at a wall. Normal.

She quietly walked in, holding the vase tight.

“Um…” They didn’t hear her.

She got a little closer. “I brought… flowers for you…”

Jason turned, fast. His elbow bumped her.

CRASH. The vase shattered. Water, petals, broken glass — everywhere.

Everyone froze. She stared down at the mess. Tiny hands trembling.

“…O-Oh.” Big green eyes filled with tears. She blinked hard. Don’t cry. Don’t cry.

“Hey—hey, it’s okay, kiddo!” Dick knelt fast, grabbing tissues like it was a code red. “I didn’t see you! Oh man, I’m sorry!” Jason was panicking. “I’ll fix it, I’ll glue it! Wait no, that’s dumb, I’ll buy you a whole greenhouse—” “Here, here, I will pick every flower in the state, don’t cry!” Tim pled, frantically scrolling on his phone for emergency florists. Damian shoved a handmade wooden carving into her hands: “I carved this last week. You can have it. Just—stop. Don’t make that face.”

But it was too late.

The tears welled over. Her little chin wobbled. She sniffled. She cried.

Everyone froze again.

Behind them… a shadow.

Bruce. Towering. Silent. Absolutely furious.

“…What happened.” He wasn’t asking.

Every Bat turned slowly, like kids caught stealing cookies.

Dick (nervously): “She—uh—she brought us flowers—” Jason (pointing): “It was Tim’s fault.” Tim: “IT WAS NOT—” Damian: “We’re in a crisis, focus!” Gaara!Reader: sniffle hiccup sad flower ghost noises

Bruce’s eyes softened only at her. He knelt, picking her up gently, brushing her hair from her eyes.

“You made these for us?” he asked softly.

She nodded. “I w-wanted to do something p-pretty…”

Bruce turned to his sons like Death himself. “You made her cry over flowers.”

Jason: internally preparing a will Tim: already halfway to picking 4 dozen bouquets Dick: Googling “flower-themed apology songs” Damian: starts planting an entire rose garden out of guilt

Bruce just carried her away, holding her close, whispering, “They didn’t mean it, flower. I’ll help you make more. As many as you want.”

And from that day on…

No one touched a vase again without silently flinching.

pathetic isn’t really a word I‘d use for colin bridgerton. simon rather dying than marrying daphne was pathetic. anthony going through with marrying edwina until SHE mustered the courage to call everything off was pathetic.

colin contemplating his feelings, calling out his male acquaintances for their chauvinism, seeking advice from his mother and then immediately taking action and putting himself out there without even knowing if his feelings are reciprocated is the complete opposite of pathetic. that requires a whole lot of bravery.
