This is awesome on so many levels.
Ladies and Gentlemen i present to you John Carpenter’s The Thing, as performed by the claymated, Antarctic cast of the hit children’s animation Pingu. Directed by Lee Hardcastle, in under 3 minutes. Noot, Noot.
I don’t think I’ve ever reposted a comic before–but with a small tweak, this one seemed to fit.
Congratulations everyone on making it through this incredibly tough year. I am keeping you, and especially those of you who experienced loss, in my thoughts.
Hoping for a better 2021!
Everyone needs to hear this
About a week ago I posted this.
I’ve been getting horrible messages like this in my ask for months, including:
and my personal favorite
After getting the message saying “Just go kill yourself” I was completely done dealing with this person’s horrible messages and replied with just an “Okay.” and logged off tumblr.
About a week later I logged back on with 17 messages in my ask, most of them from the anon. I scrolled down and at first when I logged off, the anon messaged me things like
I scrolled up more and all of a sudden they started sending me more and more messages like
This was extremely surprising to me. I thought “After all those horrible messages you sent to me for MONTHS about hating me and wanting me dead, you say ‘sorry’ and that you ‘cant be responsible for someone’s suicide’?”
But I guess the lesson goes like this:
DONT TELL ANYONE TO KILL THEMSELVES UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED FOR WHAT MIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPEN
I was curious about this story being the inspiration for Death Note but wasn’t able to find it in full online anywhere. Apparently Ohba stated he was not aware of this story (first published in 1973 in Comic Mystery Magazine) and that Death Note had no particular inspiration, although I can’t find this interview for reference anywhere.
I also couldn’t find the comic in full online anywhere either, including the one translation it had into Chinese.
I did find a printed volume of Mizuki’s short stories on Yahoo Shopping, and have just received my copy.
I have a beginners grasp at Japanese at best, so I do not feel confident enough to try and translate this for anyone besides myself.
The book is THICC and the page margins are small so I had some trouble trying to scan this. The pages have some shading where the spine is. The link is below for anyone else who is curious.

These guys again! I wanted to challenge myself a bit, so I redraw the "dance" pose from the last Critical Role campaign 2 recap with @cy-lindric's wonderful style... Also, I did a lot of OC stuff recently that I wanted to keep to myself, so that's why I didn't post much here. But I'm glad to be back :)
So uh….some dude apparently recreated Adobe Photoshop feature-for-feature, for FREE, and it runs in your browser.
Anyway, fuck Adobe, and enjoy!
people will ask me the most generic question about me and I’ll be like “I’ll get back to you about that”
