Hey all! In honor of my fanfic writing anniversary, I wanted to do a different kind of rec list. I love OCs, in fan-art, fics, and just in general. So for my anniversary, I wanted to post a shoutout list for your favorite OC Creators, Fics, and Art!

I will compile a list of OCs and the fics/art created for them. I also will have a general rec list for OC creators, just because there are some people who have so many amazing OCs its hard to rec them all. So send me your favorite OCs!

Rules:

Submissions must be sent to me by Friday, June 24th. The list will be published on June 31st.

Please send submissions via DM or Inbox. For general creator recs, please send their url, for fics and art please send links and creator's url.

Submissions are open to all fandoms. My blog is mostly Star Wars, but I'm open to more for this list!

If your fic rec is a ship fic, please list the ship.

NSFW Fics and Art are allowed, just please note if its 18+.

I will not accept submissions for any fic or art that involves the following ships: Master/Padawan, Inc*st, Clonec*st, or any nsfw setting involving minors.

I remember this ep. in CW absolutely breaking my heart because...I really felt for Bane??? 

Like I genuinely loved that we saw into how morally grey yet just he was and believed in honor in some ways. (And I loved the concept of Obi-Wan and him being closer friends even if it was ultimately fake.)

I broke down when Cad found out and you could visibly see the betrayal in his eyes at realizing this sudden friendship was to good to be true :’(

It's all about the hand on the chest

There’s a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue! 

I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product. 

Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?

Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.

Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases. 

Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.

i feel like the number of x reader fics we have to deal with now are part of a phenomenon of audiences not being able to engage with a work without making it relate directly to them. it's not enough that a work might have something to offer--if it doesn't satisfy the romantic and sexual desires of certain (mostly white cis women) members of the audience, it's not worth engaging with at all.

Something v funny about markiplier going “this is my self insert/blorbo he is a bisexual fruity little timelord serial killer who takes reality as a suggestion and doesn’t have any awareness of his own actions and likes disco. He is just a funky little dude who vibes and gets bitches he’s your dream man” and then when anyone mentions dark its “oh yeah that emo shitbag”
