so i have a mildly popular “reblog and put in in the tags” post going around and its. very clear how many people don’t know how to interact with a tumblr post
so, first of all, tumblr’s culture has changed a lot in the past couple years. there’s a genuine community effort to not start any drama, and ironically a lot of the current hostility is an effort to keep things calm. there’s also a change in how people interact with posts, so if you haven’t been here in a while please skip down to the tags/replies/reblog with text section.
for newcomers: you should be reblogging posts about as liberally as you would like something on twitter. if you only like stuff, people will think you are rude/a bot. you’ve probably heard people talk about “cultivating your dash,” and thats because this platform is 100% centered around your dashboard. trending matters less, unfollowing and blocking in order to shape your dash into it’s best form is widely accepted, the majority of the content you’ll find and interact with will be because of your dash, and the only way to put things on your dash is to reblog them. tumblr users are deeply distrustful of algorithms and have largely turned off the “see posts your friends have liked” function (i recommend you also turn of the various algorithms in settings → general settings → dashboard preferences).
so, once you’ve reblogged a post, there’s three ways to add content to it. the tags, replies, and reblogging with text. all of them have different connotations
the tags: an inside voice. originally they were meant for organizing your blog (and they’re still used for this), but they’ve also morphed into a way to share thoughts that aren’t funny/insightful enough for non-followers to be interested in. when in doubt, put your comment in the tags
replies: basically talking to your friends in class. your followers have no way of finding your replies (they don’t pop up on the dash, nobody gets notified except for the original poster) so chances are, only the person who made the post is gonna see your comment. it’s for quick one-offs that you’re okay with other people overhearing, but really is only made for one person. they’re like a public dm
reblog with text: an outside voice. you’re getting up on a stage in town square and entertaining people. make sure it’s funny or insightful— bottom line, add something new to the conversation. you should use this the least
general rules of thumb:
when in doubt, reblog. people will judge you if your blog is only personal posts and you only interact with other content by liking it.
the only things people will judge you for reblogging are personal vent posts. leave a like to give a little virtual hug
if a post is asking about your personality/opinions (i.e: tell me what’s the last tv show you watched, that kind of thing) put it in the tags
also if you see a nice edit, gifset, or art, reblog and say something nice in the tags! it’s that nice sweet spot of common enough that no one will notice but uncommon enough to make the artist’s day
post epilogue todoroki has longer hair and looks more like rei and u can’t change my mind. not to mention how badly dabi and hawks were dealt with :(
So I am once again back for another annoyed/ angry rant this one fueled by insomnia, rage and my incessant inability to make my mind shut up when I'm supposed to be trying to sleep.
I've written a bit about this topic already but god do I absolutely loathe that Horikoshi decided to give Izuku a quirk have him live his dream for under 2 years only to have the quirk ripped away in the most bloody brutal unnecessary way possible, have Izuku graduate with the rest of his peers and then immediately have him go into teaching and have all his friends move on with their lives without him. Only for Bakugo to waltz in with that mech suit and offer him a place at his agency. It's disgusting and I hate it. Also there's no way in fuck anyone can convince me that Bakugo is the main person who paid for that. Like hell! And on top of that offering Izuku a place at HIS agency after giving him the suit!? That screams yet manipulation on Bakugo's part! It's giving "hey so I know I've treated you like shit and no one's really had much to do with you in years but I'm giving you this opportunity and hey you should join my agency so you have to spend even more time kissing the ground I walk on," vibes and it disgusts me. The only things Horikoshi did right in that finale/ epilogue were Shoto's rank being what it is though his updated look left much to be desired so points off for that, Bakugo's rank being 15 and likely to fall because of his attitude and Izuku turning down Bakugo's offer of joining his agency. Other than that the finale was shit and I'm livid at how badly Izuku was treated. And no one will EVER convince me that Shoto and Izuku haven't spoken much in years! Those two are best friends if not boyfriends and I will die on that hill!
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.

Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
📚Here is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
📝As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates. Galaxy, Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone, Android, or Chromebook device. )

Drawpile (free and for if you want to draw with others)
IbisPaint (free, phone app ONLY)
Medibang (free, IPAD, Android and PC)
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
"also apologies for any spelling or grammar errors, I have Dyslexia and it makes my brain go XP when it comes to speech or writing"
something that never fails to make me sad about touya, and something that puts him apart from his siblings, is that he did have some semblance of love and affection from enji early on (even if that affection was mostly his dad training him), and he was the only todoroki kid to know that version of their father. to give a young child all your attention and passing down your aspirations to them, putting in their head that that is their purpose, only to then rip it away in the blink of an eye while saying it's for their own good without actually talking to them about it. there are so many things wrong with that.
was touya's quirk compatible with his body? no. but there is support gear that could help lessen the damage, even if only a little, that endeavor would have been able to invest in if he cared but he didn't, he saw that touya wouldn't be able to be what he wanted him to be on his own, that the expectations he put on his eldest child didn't disappear, so his solution was to replace him.
his face when natsuo is born is not an expression a 5 y/o should have when they get another sibling (look at fuyumi), but he does because he knows the purpose of why natsuo was born, because it's the same thing he was told was his purpose basically since he was born until he couldn't fulfill that role. then when shouto was born it just got worse, because all touya knew was that if his quirk wasn't enough, if he wasn't enough, wasn't better than shouto, then he was a failure and useless to his father. half of the time when you see young touya it's of him begging his dad to just look at him, because he knows his worth to his father is based on his quirk and it's strength, knows that it's the only reason he's alive and his parents are married.
to him, shouto being trained, no matter how brutal, meant their father cared about him.
(i know this has probably been said so many times before but i was rereading the todoroki family chapters and had Thoughts and Feelings)
the thing with dabi is that his actions speak louder than words. he contradicts himself every other sentence, which is common with trauma. he SAYS he doesn’t care about the league but he ran up like 8 flights of stairs (and he NEVER runs) just to try and save twice, and stated five seconds before he claimed he doesnt care about them that he was upset at his death (bc he wanted to use him, yeah yeah. personally i have no clue how twice would have fit into his plan so i think he was just bsing there but thats up for interpretation) and then right after said that h*wks should have focused on him instead of anyone else (ie. tried to kill him instead)
like... its pretty clear that he’s an unreliable narrator. he claims he’s just using the league for his own goals but why fight with them in the mla arc? they’re outnumbered, weakened, and lack resources. wouldn’t it make more sense to just join the mla instead? clearly he has some modicum of trust and care for the lov, even if he himself doesn’t realize it.
Yes! He definitely is the one person in the League who very obviously tries to keep a distance as shown when he is missing in big moments like when Magne gets killed and Compress loses his arm, but then despite the fact he never even met Overhaul, he helps take him down later on in the arc.
What's really important to note, too, is the fact that his biggest weakness is his own quirk and yet he fought Hawks to try and save Twice.
He clearly put a lot of faith in the League, considering he joined them after the only noteworthy achievement they had was the USJ incident. But even when their hideout was taken away from them and they had nothing, he still stuck around.
Yes, you can claim everything he does is because he wants to use them, but he's also shown on several occasions that he respects Shigaraki.
If you compare his usual speaking patterns with that in the broadcast in Japanese, he speaks really polite instead of having that typical rough way of speaking. Dabi is his villain persona. He literally admits that everything he's done was to ensure making Endeavor fall as hard and deep as possible; not just by boosting Endeavor's career, but also by building himself up to be this awful villain.
If he wants to shock the world by showing that Endeavor's own son has become a villain, he can't just be a random criminal, he needs to be a big threat.
And I think to him being rough with everyone and keeping a distance is part of that. Besides, we saw that he is willing to die during this, so what's the point in trying to build up a relationship, when you're gonna die soon anyway?
The problem is that it's natural to form a bond. People, the more you learn about them, become a part of your life. They make their way into your brain, whether you want them to or not.
Besides, people have an easier time getting close to those they can relate to, so the League all being people who have been through a lot of pain, who have been judged, pushes away, and hurt all their lives? I think even if he tries really hard not to, he can recognize himself in them, too, and wants to save them because he would want to be saved also.
And can I just say I like that first piece of evidence you gave? Dabi's love language is running up multiple flights of stairs!
the original got flagged with no way to appeal it when every contributor is deactivated but I will never let this post die. it's monday and we are getting on it cunts
