happy late birthday!!
Wait- fuck! Did I miss your birthday?!
it was monday (:
“You already spit out whatever goes in your mouth. I.E. Words. So you already have that going for you,” Carmen replied calmly, flipping a page in her book. She knew this man all too well. “Speaking of, how’s that STD of yours, hermano? Your balls stopped scratching yet? Or have they fallen off?”
Put your dick away
“Hmmmm..” He hums, as though hes considering the advice. “I suppose you’re right, nothing better than this mouth, am I right?” He says with a cocky grin, shooting a wink to the Spaniard. She should know, after all.
Muslim control of the Iberian Peninsula at its greatest extent.
“... Must be nice being young, hm? But watch out. You might get hurt doing something stupid.”
“You do realize what time it is, right?”
“Yeah: Time to party, duh. What, can’t handle a lil late night fun?”
“What are you doing out this late?”
“This part of town isn’t a good place to be at this time of night.”
“Now what’s a pretty thing like you doing in a place like this?”
“You do realize what time it is, right?”
“Where are you going at this hour?”
“The sun isn’t rising anytime soon, you know.”
“Do you know where I am?”
“The city looks different at night.”
“This street is very dark…”
“Why don’t you come stand in the light?”
“Are you lost?”
“I got turned around in the dark…”
“This isn’t the time to go wandering around.”
“Only fools and trouble come out to these parts at this hour.”
“Looking for trouble, are we?”
“A little late to be shopping.”
“Just coming back from the bar?”
“Think any of the pubs are still going to be open?”
“Trouble lurks around every shadowed corner.”
“Woah! I didn’t see you there!”
“Where did you come from?”
“What are you doing here?”
“A bold move to show your face here in the shadows of night.”
“Go home.”
“It isn’t safe here at this time of night.”
“You’re being watched.”
“What are you doing still up?”
“Looking for something?”
“I like walking when the streets are empty.”
“It’s dangerous to walk at night alone.”
“I know where I’m going.”
“The trees are kind of spooky…”
“Did you hear that howl?”
“Was…was that an owl…?”
“This path is scary at night…”
“The woods is no place a __ after dusk.”
“Oh you poor soul, wandering lost in the forest under the new moon…”
“You can’t see the stars from here…”
“This is the witching hour.”
“Dark beasts lurk here. Be cautious.”
“Stay on the road!”
“Talking a midnight stroll along the beach?”
“The ocean is so mysterious at night…”
“What brings you to the pier at this hour?”
“What dangers lurk in these dark waters, I wonder.”
“You’re going to get yourself lost one of these days.”

odd. for not seeing each other outside of meetings and other nation get-togethers, he seemed rather contained. carmen had no clue what to think about this situation, but it was not like she would complain.
❝ no. though a few of them did look like they were about to tackle me for them. ❞ the spaniard held up the blanket-covered basket & gave the taller man a sweet smile. ❝ it’s a wonderful day out today. & it looks like you could use a break from those sugar-saavy niños y niñas. care to join me? we could catch up on what’s been going on. ❞

“Treats? You didn’t give them to the kids, right? And-.. yes, I still have some of them living at home unfortunately.” He didn’t want to miss out on these treats, frankly.
“I’ve been doing way too much cooking. So I thought that I might bring some by for my only grandchildren. Even if most of them don’t like me.” Carmen gave the twins a smirk. Maybe food really was the only way to get on their good side.
“I made tortas de Aceite, leche frita, and torrijas. I also made some flan for everybody to share.” She recalled the looks of the airport workers when she had gotten off the plane from Madrid.

Now it was Carmen’s turn to rethink the short conversation. She too had misheard the comment and thought of it as an insult. But it was too late. The Spaniard was too deep in the situation to get out of it, and that’s final.
Carmen set the bag up on a counter and started to pull out little tins, a note attached to each of them. “Just a little something for each of you. What better way to try and get on your family’s good side than by little treats?” She gave the twins a smile before handing each of them a tin. “Don’t eat them all at once. Or do. It’s your choice.”
The boys had been eyeing the tins that she started to pull out of her bag, but didn’t expect to be personally handed one. Wow!! They didn’t even have time to check what was written on the notes, they had to see what was inside there! Curious little things they were, doing their predecessor proud. Plus, there was still quite a bit of child in them left, no matter how ‘old’ they physically might be.
“Ohhh, holy shit! It’s food?” Daan asked while he opened the lid to see for himself.
"I bought two." he commented with a friendly wink. (Flavio)
the spaniard perked up at the other’s words. there was a clear look of confusion on her face as described by the slight tilt of her head & her furrowed yet delicately trimmed eyebrows. ❝ bought two of what? you have to be clear with me, as 90 percent of the time I usually have no clue what is going on. ❞ much like her male counterpart antonio, carmen was always confused &/or oblivious to a lot of things.
