Explosive, rude, loud, mean, and brash are all words others use to describe Bakugou Katsuki. You, however, find him to be the complete opposite of those words. It’s not that you’re blind to the way he acts with others but it’s the fact that you get to see other sides of him.

You get to see how gentle he is with stray cats on the street, how quiet he can be when he’s reading a romance manga in such a concentrated manner, and how soft spoken he can be when trying to communicate his feelings with you.

It’s as if everyone is looking at the night sky within a city and only gets to see the brightest of stars, the ones that stick out the most. But you, it’s as if you’re viewing the sky in a place distant from light pollution. You get to see every little star, you just get to see so much more. You’re the only one who gets to admire this precious view, it exists for only you.

It’s the way that everyone who smells the food he cooks always asks for a bite just to try it and it’s the way he always says no to them but you get a cute neatly packed bento filled with delicious food. You get cute sausages cut into octopuses, fruits in the shape of rabbits, and sticky notes with the words that encourage you written on them.

It’s the way that he actually speaks to you about his troubles. He allows himself to be vulnerable around you because he doesn’t feel the need to have a façade around you, he lets you see him just as he is. He doesn’t think he needs to seem strong around you all the time because he feels safe around you. He knows you’re a shoulder he can lean on without feeling weak, he feels stronger when he lets his worries out.

It’s also the way that he wants to seem reliable to you, he wants you to come to him when you have troubles. He wants you to lean on him as well. He wants you to feel safe around him. He wants you to let him take care of you. He doesn’t ever want you to think you’re a bother because you’re not, everyone else is a bother but you.

It’s the way that he gazes upon everyone with sharp glaring eyes that will make anyone think twice about approaching him but you get something completely different. You are looked at with the softest of expressions, gentle eyes that welcome you in and attentively look at you as if to make sure you’re okay.

It’s the way that he feels mild annoyance or indifference towards everyone automatically and is so uninterested in them. He feels as if his chest is about to burst when it comes to you, he cares so much and simply cannot contain his feelings towards you.

He hates everyone but you.

What’s one word you’d use to describe Katsuki Bakugo?

Mina asks as she shoves a pretend microphone in your face. 

You blink, place your thumb in the book you're reading and shut it to smile up at her. “Mina what is this?” 

“Come on! We’re supposed to be practicing for interviews and stuff and I’m sure they’re gonna ask us about our fellow classmates sooooo… play along would ya?” She says putting a hand on her hip. Ochako and Hagakure are standing behind her, practically bouncing on their tiptoes. 

You give them all a look, and twist your lips to the side with a suspicious frown. “Alright fine,” you say sighing. “Ask me your question.” 

“We’ve noticed you and pro hero Dynamight have been spending a bit of time together on patrols and teaming up for missions. The two of you seem close,” Mina starts in her best interviewer voice. 

You roll your eyes. It’s true, you and Bakugo have been working together more, but it’s only because your quirks seem to be extremely compatible. Kirishima’s hardening is good for endurance practice, but your shields are better at condensing his explosions, quieting them and helping with stealth. 

“We work well together to get the job done,” you reply simply. 

“Right yes, we’ve seen the two of you jump in popularity on the hero charts. Very impressive,” Mina continues and you think you see her hide a snicker behind her arm before she continues. 

“Given how much time the two of you have spent together, I’d figure you know him better than most of us,” she says and it feels like she’s baiting you into something. You squint your eyes. 

“I mean I know him just as much as anyone he works with. Mina, what is this about?” you ask and she shushes you quickly. 

“Come on, don't break character!” she scolds as you roll your eyes. “What’s one word you’d use to describe your colleague Katsuki Bakugo? We’re all dying to get inside his head a bit,” she asks again. 

You huff, open your book and slip a piece of paper into it. Clearly you’re not getting back to it anytime soon. You think for only ten seconds before you look seriously up at her, staring directly into her eyes as you answer. 

“Quiet,” you say simply. 

All three girls sputter and react with wide eyes. “Quiet?!?!  Bakugou?!?!?” Mina squeals. 

“Are you sure we’re talking about the same Bakugou? Spiky blonde hair, explosions, always has a scowl on his face?” Hagakure replies. 

You roll your eyes again, “Yup. The very same one. Now are we done with the interview? My book was just getting good,” you say, tapping the hard cover impatiently. 

“No no no you can’t just name a word that’s the complete opposite of him and then not expect to explain. Forget the mock interview. Spill!” Mina demands. 

You blink up at them in confusion. “But… it’s not the complete opposite of him. When he’s not battling a villain or training, he barely speaks, don’t you notice? He’s usually alone or walking around with headphones. If anything he’s lost in thought. He’s a complete control freak about his progress so he’s always thinking about how he can be better but he doesn’t vocalize it. During patrols I have to pull conversation from him and even then, it’s quite short. With how much he stays to himself, I can't even imagine how loud his thoughts must be,” you explain. 

Mina stops and stares at you in disbelief, but you stare past her head, remembering all of the patrols you had with him. 

He’s always been nothing but quiet around you. It’s almost like he goes out of his way to be quieter and calmer around you. Even after blasting a villain to kingdom come and screaming “GO TO HELL”, he always comes back to you with a soft gravelly, “Nice defense today,” or an even quieter, “Thanks for having my back.” 

You’d kill to hear him scream and yell all of his thoughts like you assume everyone else thinks he does. He’s always been a mystery to you, never able to crack his hard exterior. 

“I think sometimes, he’s even a little sweet,” you whisper and you think it’s to yourself until Mina’s nose is practically hitting yours. 

“Oh my god, you’re… you’re blushing…OH MY GOD! YOU LIK–”

You slap a hand over her mouth quickly while the other two girls squeal. “Shut it! It’s not like that!” you say quickly as the others giggle. 

To your horror, Bakugou is walking up behind them, weaving through the chairs in the large common room. 

“Oi, I just got off patrol. Wanna spar?” he asks, ignoring the others and looking directly at you. 

You give Mina a threatening look that says “I’ll skin you alive if you say a word” before you drop your hand from her mouth and say to him “Uhh yeah, gimme like five minutes to change.”  

“Fine, meet me back here in five then. We can get dinner after,” he says, turning to walk away. 

The girls continue to snicker under their breath as he walks away, but you don’t hear them. All you can focus on is the tips of Bakugou’s ears as he walks away, inflamed a brilliant shade of red and you could swear that he turned ever so slightly to peer at you over his shoulder from the corner of his eye. And on the corner of his mouth, a hint of a little smirk.

Mates For Life

Y/N , Mina and Occhaco were all staring at a phone, looking at videos of penguins, and one of the three girls occasionally saying aww at the video.

Bakugo had just finished training with Todoroki, and came to get Y/N for their usual after class gas station run for snacks, so they could study together. Most people would call this a date, and despite the fact that Y/N and Bakugo had been in the “ talking” phase for a few weeks. They had not made the step to make it official. They both wanted to, Y/N enjoyed being with Bakugo and wanted to go on actual dates with him. Like to the movies or out for lunch. She wanted to snuggle up close to him at night and watch movies with her.

And Bakugo adored Y/N more than anything, he wanted to hug her every time she looked at him with those eyes, he wanted to take her places that boyfriends take girlfriends. He wanted to cook for her, he wanted to ask her to be his. But h didn’t because he didn’t want to ruin the best thing he ever had.

“ Ready to go?” He asked. “ What you girls looking at?” He asked.

“ Oh…” She hesitated.” Nothing important,” she snatched the phone jamming it in her pocket. She stood up and grabbed her bookbag and started to walk to the gas station.

They were about halfway to the gas station, the air was silent and clam, the occasional car would speed by, but other than that he was silent and easy. They were walking so close together that their fingertips kept grazing each other. Bakugo finally grabbed her hand, and turned to see her beginning to flush with blush.

“ Hey Y/N… what was that video you were watching earlier?”

“ It was about penguins… they mate for life.”

“ Oh really.” He asks, wondering if he was being thrown a weird hint, or something strange.

“ Yeah.. they give each other rocks to show their commitment.”

Bakugo only responded with a low pitched grunt, and they continued their walk in a quiet silence. And their evening procced as normal, but Bakugo couldn’t stop thinking about rocks, and how much he wanted to mate for life.

The next day, Bakugou found the smoothest rock he could find and durning lunch he pulled Y/N aside.

“ So I uhh… I got you something.” He spoke, his face was flushed with red, and he was clearly fight nervous.

“ Really. “ Her eyes lit up, but then her face softened. “ You didn’t have to get me anything.”

“ Its no big deal really.” He spoke pulling out the rock from his pocket. He placed it in her open hand. “ I got you a rock,  to show you my commitment.” 

“ You did?”

“ Yeah. Will you be my girlfriend?”

You're Bakugou's side kick- have been for a few years now but with it being your day off you aren’t at the office instead at home folding Katsuki’s Laundry, meal prepping for the week and making spicy curry for lunch tomorrow, for you and your husband.

You're folding his iconic skull T shirt, your kitten, Boom Boom, sleeping in your hoodie when you get the call from the hospital- they don’t call you by your hero name no they address you by your last “hello? Y/n Bakugou? This is nurse Kiyoko from Mustafu Provice hospital your Husband Bakugou Katsuki is currently in the trama unit about to undergo a minor surgery for-“

You don't let the nurse finish before you’re already pulling out the drive way in Katsuki’s orange Jeep. Not having heard the words "minor" only "Katsuki hospital", "husband", "trauma", and "surgery". As you half hazardourdly park the car in the ER parking lot not caring if the car gets towed or that you made a 25 minute drive in only 8.

Your bursting through the doors of the ER ignoring the nurses and clergery staff that tell you you aren’t authorized passed the waiting room and you don’t stop running stomping your way through the halls until you spot Kirishimas red hair, Minas Pink skin and the heterochric eyes of Shoto as you make a bee like straight for them. You aren’t in your hero suit so you don’t expect the medical staff to know who you are. Shit you aren’t even in real clothes just one of Bakugous sleep shirts and a pair of purple spandex, still in your Dynamite house slippers when two buff nurses attemp to stop you in your tracks

“Ma’am I don’t know who you are but you cannot be here!” One of them all but shouts in your ear

While the other day “someone get security!”

It isn’t until you elbow one in the stomach that Shoto voice can be heard from the door way of Katsuki’s room flanked by Mina and Eijiro “She’s with us guys-“

Mina tries to help, you know she is when she supplies a “that’s his side kick!”

And Eijiro just looks confused because how did you know they were in the hospital? Katsuki deliberately told him not to call you on your day off, and he promised he wouldn't not even questioning why the blond thought he would call his sidekick for a minor injury.

It isn’t until you muff the second man in scrubs in the face that you shout at them “his wife has every right to be here you fucking shit head! You fuckers called me!”

And your pushing your way past everyone until your by the blonds bedside he looks out of it and confused and his left arm is all bandaged up but he still recognizes you immediately when he turns his head to the nurse changing his IV

“You called my Wife?!”

“She is your emergency contact Mr. Bakugou and your power of attorney; the moment we were told you passed out in the ambulance we were obligated to contact Mrs.Bakugou”

“Damn straight she was.” You tell him.

“Like hell you were.” he tell her.

You both shoot daggers at each other for split second before you grab his hand and squeeze it, while glaring down at him. "Be nice to your nurse Katsuki." you chide while scrunching your nose at your dumb, stupid husband "I was worried about you and here you are trying to hide shit from me."

Katsuki's eyes soften before looks away "I just didn't want to worry you." he mumbles.

"I'll always worried. Stupid head."

With a chuckle Katsuki squeezes your hand while looking you up and down, "at least I don't look like a stupid head, why you wearing house slippers in the hospital?"

"because I love your ugly ass, thats why" you sigh, leaning down to kiss his big ass forehead before turning back to the nurse. "Sorry about him, are there any papers I need to sign?"

"Oh no problem Mrs. Bakugou, he was a a treat to talk to while he was going under, wouldn't stop talking about you. All I need from you is a signature for the insurance claim, and a debriefing on post-op care, he should be ready to go home later this evening." she smiles.

Making her way past the other hero's and out the room.

"So were you just not going to tell us you were MARRIED!?" Mina accuses.

Enjiro just looks hurt "Bro how could you not tell anyone? How could you not tell me?"

"They told me." Todoroki supplies.

"Not helping Sho."

"Don't be a snitch icyhot."

"How could you?" Enjiro looks like he's going to pass out, as if finding out his best friend was married might actually kill him.

Bakugou groans while turning his head, but letting go of your hand, shoving his face into your arm.

"we needed a witness and Shoto doesn't have a big mouth like the rest of you guy. sorry" you supply.
