Sad au idea, that's kinda inspired by flowerfell...

Where everytime that Dream feels pain from positive feelings, the longer he is as Shattered Dream, a apple blossom would grow on his body each time.

Also Cross is there with him through out the whole thing, staying by his side & trying to find a way to help save Dream.

(P.s I thought it would be fitting for apple blossoms to grow, instead of buttercups. Since the tree of feelings was a apple tree & Dream has a golden apple as his soul)

I did the MB week challenge- specifically, Friday’s prompt today, because I don’t care about the days of the week. They’re all the same now, have a good night/day.

The first thing he noticed when he came to again was Cross’s body laying on the cold stones of the ground next to him.

Did-

Had Nightmare actually-

No. No he didn’t. There- there was-

Cross was his, dammit, he had loved him, so why-

Why was he sitting there, covered in Cross’s blood, not knowing how it got there? Unless…

Unless he had done it.

He- Cross trusted him, and Nightmare- Nightmare betrayed him- killed him, even. Sure, sure it was an accident, but he had murdered Cross in cold blood.

With that heartbreaking realization, Nightmare couldn’t hold back tears any longer, and he held Cross’s body, sobbing, wondering what might have been if he hadn’t killed him.

He didn’t notice the world going dark one last time, as the demon returned. This time, however, he wasn’t going anywhere.

After all, once someone lost their will to live, they didn’t need a body, now did they?
