I've been seeing posts about how villain Emmet is ooc and I agree. I always thought of villain Emmet as being ultimately harmless since he's a good guy but I've seen fics of Emmet outright killing volo (which are cool but it gets tireing when he's always unhinged like that)

So I made my own version.

maybe emmets the only person calling himself a villain. Villains are the ones that search for legendarys after all and he needs to either get to the past himself or bring ingo back to the present. He asks elesa to make him a costume worthy of a villain and she of course gets it for him because if this is how he want to greave who is she to stop him?

Emmet starts traveling to different regions looking for legendarys. Battling trainers as he gos. Not being surrounded by reminders of ingo is helping him think of other things.

Maybe at one point he steals something from a hisui history museum but that's the worst thing he ever does.

He eventually manages to summon arceus and he's starting down god himself.

"I am Emmet. Battle me and when I win return my brother to me"

And arceus battles him a honorable 6v1 against god. after a long battle Emmet is victorious. And arceus drops ingo down in front of Emmet and they hug it out and go home and start running the subway together again... or maybe that's just what Emmet wanted to happen.

After all it was a 6v1 against god it was never a fair fight and after a long battle Emmet loses. All his pokemon faint and the last hope of seeing his brother is shattered. And while Emmet is devastated its less then he expected. It had been years. he had traveled the world and had become friends with people who had never even meet ingo. Emmet had been greaveing without even noticing it. He had a life without ingo, one where he traveled the world battling strong trainers. And while before he had no idea what life without ingo would look like now he had something to go back to.

Emmet becomes a traveling trainer. And maybe a historian too. He gives the subway to the people who had been running in while he was out. He could never go back to it without ingo by his side.

Years later he tells someone about the time he was a villain and they laugh at him. Villain teams tend to try and capture and chain legendarys not challenge them like their just another pokemon. What villain just walks up to a legendary and gets a fight. Thats the kind of stuff that you see in pure of heart storys not villain storys.

Submas headcanon!

Emmet and Ingo has that twin connection where they not only finish each other's sentences, synchronize with each other, but they also share a braincell and-

Okay you know those twin sisters on tiktok where they do those well practiced perfect stunts, like one will throw a basket ball and the other would headbutt the basketball into the hoop?

That but it's Ingo and Emmet on a daily basis. The Agents in Gear Station are probably used to their stunts by now and they find it entertaining.

Now picture this. Ingo vanished and Emmet. Emmet still does his part of the stunts, because muscle memory, same goes for Ingo.

Emmet throws a plate thinking Ingo would be there to catch it and put it in the sink. He expects his brother to scold him for throwing it, or maybe the sound of the ceramic being softly placed in the sink.

But all he got was the sounds of shattering.

Shatters of the plate and another shatter to his already crumbled up heart to pick up after.

While with Ingo, he would throw his conductor hat towards somewhere, he expects someone to catch it as himself, receive the other's hat.

Who's hat?

He ended up with his hat landing on the ground with a soft thud, and his hands empty, like the space beside him. Something wasn't correct.

But he can't remember what.

It happens again when Ingo makes another plate of dinner for someone, someone who.. wasn't there. He eats the second plate alone, sighing at the habit he couldn't shake off. He eats the meal with a phantom feeling that he should be waiting for someone, someone with a familiar smile and a hungry belly.

On the current timeline, Emmet comes home to an empty plate and emptiness, used to Ingo coming home first to cook dinner for them and their pokemon. He was used to coming home to the smell of dinner being cooked and the sounds of their pokemons playing while waiting for their foods. He was used to Ingo giving him a warm welcome back.

But now, it was just an empty plate and a phantom voice from his memories to welcome him back.

(Childhood) submas headcanons:

- They probably got bullied

- Their bullies show up to the battle subway one day and Emmet has a fieldtrip insulting them after they lose. For once Ingo doesn't stop him.

- Emmet has more trouble waking up in the morning for school/work

- Ingo would make Emmet's sandwiches for him if he got up too late for school

- They shared a room as kids but each side was decorated differently

- Plushies of their favorite pokemon

- Practicing their poses in the mirror ofcourse

- Ingo is better at school subjects like history while Emmet is better at stuff like math. Idk it makes sense to me

- matching bracelets when they were kids

- Ingo would study beforehand while Emmet would do it last minute

- Ingo would probably help Emmet study if he was short on time

- Fake Pokémon battles on the playground

- Emmet is one cm taller than Ingo

- Or Ingo is taller idk i can't decide but i feel like they're not the same height

- they share an unmreblla

- if they couldn't reach something as kids Emmet would sit on Ingo's shoulders

- they speak multiple languages!!

Confirmed Canon Information

- Bad at facial expressions but good as vocal expressions (his face looks very neutral even when he sounds excited)

- Speaks very loudly, has no indoor voice

- While this is more obvious in the Japanese games, Ingo speaks in a overly polite/formal way

- Yells “BRAVO” when anything smth he finds exciting happens

- Left handed

Manga Depiction

- Appears to be easily frustrated when losing battles

- Emmet’s impulse control through brute force, will simply grab and remove Emmet when he’s being too abrasive

- Repeats the name of the trains destinations in the speaker after Emmet does the first announcement. Maybe this is just a thing trains do but it’s important to me.

- More expressive than in the games (not by a large margin)

Pokemon Masters

- Seems to have an overbearing sense of responsibility(?)

- Hisui is not the first time he’s been transported into a different universe for unexplained reasons.

- Does not seem to be aware that his face doesn’t show the emotions he’s feeling.

- Most of his conversations are about trains and rail systems.

Emmet

Confirmed Canon Information

- His face is always very expressive but he speaks in a monotone way ( he will look very excited and yet talk in a very neutral way)

- While this is more obvious in the Japanese games, Emmet speaks in a more informal way than his brother

- Gets very serious while battling

- Right handed

- Starts the majority of his sentences with “I am Emmet”

- Says “very” as “verrrry”

- Likes winning more than anything else

- Prefers double battles

Manga

- Will loudly announce he is going to eavesdrop on your conversation as he walks towards you

- This depiction of Emmet appears to generally be louder and more energetic

- Does this weird stiff walk a lot

- Mainly does the location announcements on the train speakers. Idk how you call them.

Pokemon Masters

- Really looks up to Ingo

- Prefers the rules of a double battle

- Puts a great deal of importance on safety

- Seems to have a thing with combinations; he states multiple times that he loves combinations when it comes to pokemon battles and takes great interest in the sync pairs system.

- Mentions Ingo a lot

- Considers him and Ingo as “each other’s closest rivals”

I love your theory about Ingo and Emmet being the original twins, but shouldn't it be Ingo that gets the black dragon and Emmet that gets the white one?

this is dialogue from BW2, and Ingo is the older brother so following this logic he would have Reshiram and Emmet would have Zekrom, but even disregarding this little bit of canon the fact that Ingo has a signature fire type pokemon and Emmet has an electric type makes that match up work better I think... I also just really like the idea that each gets the opposite colour, on top of them possibly leaning on the personal quality in the other twin and thus believing that to be the stronger, which is frankly the only reason why I can see them ever fighting over something like that!
