feeling some kind of way about how neither angel's slutty, sprawling haughty act at the black drop nor his panicked pleading in the dressing room is who he really is. how the two extremes his survival mode takes are either puffing himself up to look bigger or cowering low to the ground to look smaller, both of them fundamentally reactive, fundamentally passive. how the first time we really see his true self is with blood in his hair, guns in his hands, a black eye, and laughing, neither the egotistical jackass nor the flinching prey
