Not "humans are inherently good" or "humans are inherently evil" but a secret third thing (humans are inherently social animals which means that we're very good at cooperating and being compassionate towards those we perceive as being part of our community but we're also very good at being tribal and violent towards those we perceive as threats to our community and everyone defines their community differently)
hello fellow gamers, I have that stupid headcanon Soft & Wet is either pink or purple after fusion. what you think? ;D
The table top rpg from the first bakura arc in the early yugioh manga is so wacky if you try to think about it as a real game.
like the game uses percentile die which in the age of dnd cultural hegemony it's funny that Kazuki Takahashi's image of generic ttrpg in the 90s was a d100 system and not a d20 system. And also the ONLY dice roll is d100 which seems like a lot and very swingy for an other wise really simple seeming game. On the same topic of mechanics that are A Lot for a basic game there are random encounter rolls Every Turn with a 30% chance of a monster encounter immediately outside of the first town and that goes up 80% when they get to a forest which both seem crazy high.
There's also a ton of stuff that we never actually get rules for, like there are stats but it's unclear what they do and damage rolls and movement are never discussed at all. Additionally the player class and race lists which get dropped at the start in a could of charts have some wild stuff in them.
I dont know that ive ever wanted to play an rpg class as bad as i want to play a diabolist.
Since I plugged this blog on my main I guess I should make a pinned post clarifying everything.
I made a silly little sideblog for talking about the Youtube tabletop RPG series made by Sequence Break, starting from Star Road Now, continuing with The Quiet Decay and Severed Strings.
If you're not familiar with it I suggest checking out the official playlist with all the episodes on Youtube to get a feel for it as well as the wiki (beware of spoilers for later parts), but tl;dr it's a collection of TTRPG campaigns set in the same continuity, in the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure universe (albeit it strays from Jojo canon later on.) The events happen in a near-ish future (2088-2140) in the city of Electros, Japan and usually revolve around dealing with some kind of grand moral dilemma told through a series of labyrinthine fights and personal subplots. Also punchghosts. I'll elaborate on the specific parts of the series under the cut.
I won't be tagging spoilers since this is just a tiny thing I have on the side, so if you're interested in this series in any way I suggest you at least finish Star Road Now before continuing.
Star Road Now is generally centered around themes of dreams, self-improvement, potential and family. This is the first entry in the series set in the year 2130, and is the most popular one by far; in fact it's what you usually get when you search "jojo ttrpg" on Youtube. It sets the stage for the rest of the series and is a must-watch if you want to understand what's going on in the other two parts.
The Quiet Decay narrows the scope a bit while retaining some thematic ties to SRN (family and self-improvement are even more prevalent now), but it also explores the inner psyche of many of its characters through the mysterious phenomenon of Black Tears. It's the second entry in the series and is chronologically the earliest one, starting in autumn of 2088, and features some characters from Star Road Now as well as Severed Strings (as to why, see below)
Severed Strings is the third and latest entry in the Sequence Break Jojoverse and is still ongoing, having been run parallel with The Quiet Decay up until the latter's finale. It is a lot more experimental, taking concepts established in canon Jojo and flipping them on their head or otherwise playing with them, though it still retains strong thematic ties to SRN and TQD in the form of familial bonds and what they can mean to a person; it also introduces the theme of freedom and individuality to an extent which becomes more clear later on.
There are some spinoffs to the main series such as On The Road Again (a darker AU of Star Road Now featuring a completely new cast of characters) and Crystal River Romp (an ambiguously canon spinoff set in an amusement park), though I don't know much about them as I haven't watched much from either spinoff.
This blog has a tag system in place to make it easier for me to look for specific types of posts (ie a certain character/part/etc) and it's accessible through mobile as well as desktop. Feel free to reblog anything from here, I don't really care.
My favorite character is Hephaestus Brando from Severed Strings she is the light of my life my quirky little construction worker and generally funny little lady who lives in my head rent-free. I have a couple other characters I really like but you can figure those out on your own.
I think that covers all the bases, feel free to send me an ask or something if you have any questions for me or about the series.
Various Yugi, Yami, and puzzleship headcanons because one I'm too busy to draw much, and two I wanted to write a little something for myself, just for fun. And you get to see them too (• 3 •) :
Yami’s transition from vengeful vigilante to kind-hearted yet prideful pharaoh was rocky to say the least. Not understanding and not quite willing to accept Yuugi’s kindness, most of his attempts to understand his newfound life was filled with stone-cold faces, confused stares, and offended petulance. But Yuugi is equally stubborn in helping his new friend acclimatize to being human again, so he does his best to teach him, even if not everything he does is successful.
Yami, despite loving Yuugi, doesn’t worship the ground his partner walks on. Instead he sees a person who’s gone through hardship, being lonely and bullied, and still somehow smiling at the end of it, and it amazes him as much as it confuses him. He’s unsure how to proceed with a person who seems so contradictory. Though with time, he recognizes Yuugi's inner strength and resolves to help Yuugi see what he himself saw in his partner.
Yuugi will never admit it, but whenever he gets the chance to become “the strong one” and help Yami out for a change, it gives him a heady feeling that rivals anything he’s felt before. For once, he gets to protect others, something he never gets to do, and plus, he’s protecting the one person who protects everyone else. He, the tiny and small Yuugi Mutou, protecting Yami no Yuugi, the hero! He finally gets the chance to be “the lead” almost, and it brings him greater joy than any other. Ofc he doesn't flaunt it, but it's definitely something he feels and to a degree feels ashamed about. Though he lets himself be arrogant, just a teeny tiny bit.
To Yami though, Yuugi becomes very vigilant and constant in looking out for him, something he does appreciate exclusively from Yuugi when he can no longer stand on his own.
In terms of love, the spirit only knows it in theory. He loves his partner, he cares for his friends, he loves his home of Egypt, and he loves his priests and his people. But the kind of love where two people love each other, is less foreign and more of unsure territory for him. He recognizes it’s a love that goes beyond what he’s felt for anyone else, but doesn’t know how to approach it. Much less appreciate it.
Yuugi meanwhile, understands love very well. He’s yearned for it for years, and finally feels it for Yami, his partner and dear spirit. He hides it of course, the world is more important than his feelings, but when it’s all over and he gets the chance to act on them, his desperate heart won’t let him be so selfless. He enjoys and revels in teaching Yami the many ways one could love, as to him, it shows just how much he loves Yami in turn. But he’s equally patient about it, taking it step by step. Sometimes, he’s so gentle that Yami gets impatient, but Yami’s equally weak to his partner’s tenderness, especially when it’s geared towards him.
Their relationship isn’t fueled by something as small as one’s appearance, nor did it ever start from it. But when those moments come, Yuugi can feel his breath be stolen by Yami’s visage, or Yami blinking when he sees how the light refracts in Yuugi’s eyes. Still, they appreciate each other’s appearance and take full advantage to do so, especially when having separate bodies. They appreciate them as they entirely are, and not for singular details.
Yuugi likes squeezing Yami’s butt. There isn’t much there, but whatever he gets, he gropes. Yami’s since then no longer bothered to scold him, only giving him a mild glare and blush whenever he does it. Though he always somehow knows when to smack Yuugi’s hand away when they’re out in public events.
Neither are comfortable to sleep on because they’re quite lanky, even if Yami came back in Atem’s body (trust me, if he really is all muscle then those are rocks dude, not pillows) So instead Yugi and Yami both like taking a pillow and just putting it on themselves so the other can sleep on them.
Atem, when alive, was a well-meaning king. A little spoiled, since he was such a golden boy, but overall, a good-natured king. He often listens out to his people, gets into quarrels with Seth because of his seemingly soft nature, and tries to be equal in his sense of judgement. But it never changes the fact that he was a young king, and there was much he had left to learn by the time Kul Elna’s history was revealed. These lessons unfortunately, he would never know, not until 3000 years later.
When Yami/Atem comes back, he doesn’t come back fully human. Being locked in an ancient artifact with the remnants of darkness incarnate changes you. So while he looks human, he still holds control over the shadows and is as much of their slave as he was their master. The only difference is that the shadows don’t scream anymore, and are more or less docile unless Yami riles them up. And they don’t hurt him anymore, so that’s pretty good too.

[Toon x Mobster] Princess Elizabeth. She doesn't like Jack, he smells like a dog.
With Jack's dad being a wolf, he can understand animals (that he grew up with) and can talk back to them (not including human language). He doesn't always understand, but Jack's fluent enough for a conversation.
Of course, with Princess Elizabeth being a spoiled little brat (and surrounded by dangerous people working under the Guktav) her behavior is abhorrently offensive, but only Jack seems to understand that since nobody else gets her but him.
It does look weird seeing a grown man having a full blown argument with a small petite cat though.

Imagine Damian forming a plan to catch Santa Claus. He’s written a letter, accumulated some traps, and stayed up all night just just to do this. He absolutely denies believing in him BUT what if the man does exist???
Dick intercepts the letter, like the good big brother he is, gathering the forces. Tim disarms the traps, Dick and Steph both get the presents, and Jason dons a fat suit and climbs down the Wayne manor chimney (Dick owes him big time).
It’s all worth it seeing the absolute astonishment of Damian’s face when Jason starts gobbling down the milk and cookies set out (and avoids swallowing the tracker hidden inside both items) before grunting up the Chimney.
They fein all knowledge of the incident in the morning. Bruce gets an absolutely earful from Damian about “increased security on Christmas Eve.”
Damian: *peaks head above dining table* Baba
Bruce: *sighs, gives Damian the rest of his incredibly juicy fruit salad* Hn
Damian: *scampers off with bowl, Titus hot on his tracks*
Bruce: *watches with a faint smile, sipping on his water*
Bruce is totally a mom the way he just lets his kids take his food, just like my mom. They give him one look and Bruce is ready to feed them himself
Dick has the skills of various circus artists. Of course, not at the level of professionalism that he has with the trapeze, for example, but still, he has many other skills that he learned as a child.
We know from a comic that he has "fast hands", he can practically steal anything if the other person is distracted enough.
His ability to escape the sight of others? He must have learned it from an illusionist.
Surely Batman already had a base on which to work with his aim. Obviously Dick practiced knife throwing in the circus.
Some things are useful in battle, and others are just for fun (like him juggling to entertain Jon, and probably many other kids). Maybe he also knows how to make shapes with balloons? (His siblings probably loved watching him do circus acts, even if they would never admit it).
Let's not even talk about his uncanny ability to stuff things into the non-existent pockets of his suit. ✨M A G I C✨
You can't tell me that he stopped practicing everything that wasn't useful to him in combat.
He just kept practicing every single thing his first family taught him, his way of staying close to them.
Dick Grayson is smart.
Like I hate it when they make him a dumb bimbo, he's hot yes he knows it, but he also has been hacking into the Pentagon for fun since he was ten, survived Spyral and several almost apocalypses. I know it's cannon since no Bat is dumb, but some fics, SOME FICS, make him look like he never went to school.
Dick Grayson knows so many languages.
I assume due to the fact that he grew up in a traveling circus he already knew a lot of languages(even if his english was bad when his parents died), but due to being robin and Bruce Wayne's ward he learned basically all major languages on Earth( and some alien) like Romani, German, French, Russian, English, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Irish, Finish, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indian, Latin, backwards speech(Zatara), Tamoranian(i think that's how you spell it), Kryptonian, speedster(when speedsters talk super fast) and so on.
Dick Grayson has at least some immunity against Fear toxin(Ft), Joker venom(Jv).
And most of the other poisons due to constant exposure since he was 9, also when he was younger there were no antidotes for Ft and Jv so he learned how to ride them out without a sound. (You can't tell me it hasn't fucked him up somehow, like a 9 y/o being constantly exposed to these things HAS to have some consequences and while he has his immunity I also think he has extreme anxiety( like all the bats a.k.a. Bat paranoia) and constant panic attacks(next headcanon))
Dick Grayson is a master at controlling his body.
Besides the fact that he probably learned acrobatics before he could walk and was a stage performer(always smiled even if the performance got off the rails) I also think he has taught himself complete control of his body due to far too many close calls. He learned to control each muscle individually for combat under high-stress situations(where he most needs that control). This had a side effect of him being able to control his face muscle/expressions and body language. He became the best actor there will ever be, because he can keep a smile on his face even if he is in excruciating pain, he can look completely calm and relaxed even though he is having a panic attack and the opposite is true as well he can look completely terrified even though he is amused. Because of this you need to know him extremely well to tell if he's in distress(the only people so far are Alfred, Damian and Slade(he's obsessed))
Anyway if you want more of the headcanon's just say, Nightwing is one of my favourite characters I can rant about him much longer.
"Dick Grayson is the mentally stable one of the Batfamily"
Ah yes, the same Dick Grayson who literally every time a particularly unpleasant event happens his most normal "coping method" is HALLUCINATIONS.
"Dick Grayson, the multiversal constant," yes, just like his hallucinations are Dick's constant in every freaking universe.

the twins are my fave gjhsjkgh
i think we need to card these two, they look too young to be gangsters
I like to imagine a scenario where humanity just never developed energy guns and has stuck to kinetic weaponry forever and at some point some alien species thinks about messing with the wrong apex predator species.
Alien 1: "Captain, I assure you, our ships can't be breached by anything weaker than a concentrated proton beam. They barely have lasers. We'll be fine."
Alien 2: "Sub relativistic projectile incom-" gets hit by a railgun shell at mach fuck
So...
You know how if you're (American) in another country, and find another American and all the sudden it's like 'Hey! Friend! Friend! That's my bestie!' That person could be from an entirely different state but all the sudden you're similar around the unfamiliar so you're buddies!
Does that happen with monsters?
Better yet-
Say you're a human, the only human being hired onto a large cargo ship that travels planet to planet through space. Most of the others you work with are so different in appearance and species you sometimes don't know even if some of them have eyes, or just use a form of echolocation.
Still! It's a nice job, you're given respect due to your status as (a deathworlder) a human, and you're settling in nicely the first few days.
There's a pack of aliens you haven't met yet though, The Aslai.
Huge creatures with a semi-humanoid appearance paired with patches of striped fur across varying parts of them. A maw that unhinges in three distinct separation points, fur tipped tails that vary with color, and slightly elongated limbs.
Of course, the Aslai are the engineers. They work in the sub-floor deck where the machinery and engines are stationed. Heavy creatures with prehensile tails that can lift just as much as their long, burly arms. Creatures made to be strong, and with vast intelligence, the Aslai are perfect for such jobs. Most times they flock to them, truthfully.
Like how winged and levitating aliens prefer jobs that involve them leaving the ship where they can move freely through open space with the right gear.
The first time you see one of the Aslai, they're walking with heavy boot steps to the mess hall. You both freeze in the hall though.
For you? It's got a human-ish face and you're experiencing one hell of a level of the uncanny valley effect in real time.
For Hesh, you look like a softer, mini version of the Aslai. Their tail flicks in excitement and with heavy steps they draw closer. A brighter fur pattern than their fellow Aslai, they're noticeable by anyone. They croon in a low gruff tone, reaching out and prodding at your arms, legs, cheeks, happily babbling in some method of communication you can't exactly understand.
It's when the other three Aslai suddenly appear with different fur patterns and facial structures, mimicking the first one that you seem to realize they're 'cooing' over you. Like if you saw a stray cat on the way home...
You're about to say anything when one of the botanist -a Threxacord by the looks of its mandibles- speaks sharply, "Don't you have somewhere to be, human??"
Technically it's right... You're not at your post, but you were told by your immediate boss you could go on lunch. You don't have a chance to explain that though, not when the second largest Aslai lifts you up and sets you on its shoulders.
"Don't talk to our human that way." The rough, crackley voice is a shock to anyone who hears it, but the pack of Aslai seem comfortable. You can only hand onto the horns atop it's head to keep in place as a different one continues, each on the same thought process.
"Drunum, shouldn't you be tending to your artificial soils?" It's more of a throaty growl than words, but the irritation is clear.
It's only when Drunum hisses as it retreat when the Aslai you're semi-surrounded by relax, looking over at you with bright, fanged grins. They seem to each be muttering variations of the same phrases.
"Oooh, little Aslai! Honorary Aslai!"
"Are you a meat eater too? I bet you're a meat eater-"
"You're warm blooded, that's great! So am I!"
"Look, you've got five fingers too! No claws, but that's okay!"
The pack easily brings you to the mess hall, deciding then and there you're one of them. Just a tiny version. Practically cousin species!
I was going somewhere with this
Santa knew that death would come for him one day and he would not be able to avoid it.
He did regret traumatizing those young heroes.
As a final gift, Santa imparts his Christmas magic to Young Justice who witnessed his death. As a result, during Christmas, Young Justice is basically invincible, not that they realize it. They also have the compulsive need to deliver Christmas presents and never quite realize that they've only take a night what used to take them three months when they first tried to fill Santa's boots.
The first time YJ can't deliver gifts because of dimensional shenanigans and a new Santa arises, YJ still retains the Christmas magic/invincibility without the impulse to deliver gifts to EVERYONE as the new Santa has that impulse now. They still haven't figured this out. They always attributed the gift giving thing to guilt.
However, they do retain the urge to deliver a gift to one specific person each year.
And so Darkseid continues to receive his yearly lump of coal and he still cannot defeat the one or ones who deliver it.
Santa giving the YJ OP powers one day a year so they can deliver coal to Darkseid is a beautiful hc.
I bet YJ signs up for the Christmas shift after they find out about the powers because of their need to be useful and "good."
I also love the idea that YJ was chosen as temp Santas until they failed at their assigned job. Santa could've been created to fill that role at any point, but the magic of Christmas waited until the teens couldn't fulfill the need.
There are fics out there with Santa meeting Tim, but it'd be cool to see Santa chatting with all of YJ
theres bikes around the city you can rent but you have to use an app that needs your drivers license. theres buses that drive right to your destination, but if you dont have change you need the app. you can wash your car here if you sign into the app. you can go to the bathroom here you just have to unlock it with the app that needs your location on. you can order at this restaurant if you scan the code and download the app. im losing my freaking mind

Everyone says Technoblade would be a child of Ares in the PJO and HoO books, but no. I say Demeter, the Goddess of agriculture. (I'm going to put this all below a cut because I'm really enthusiastic about mythology and will be writing a lot and I know not everyone will want to have to scroll past a large block of text.)
Firstly, Demeter riots when her daughter is kidnapped, straight up almost killing all of humanity by not letting crops grow and starving them until she got Persephone back. She is the cause of winter happening out of pure defiance against the king of the Gods because he is not bothered to rescue her daughter.
Less commonly know is her connections to the underworld. In early Mycenaean myths Hades did not exist and instead there were three main underworld gods. Poseidon, Persephone and Demeter. Demeter was, in the earliest of the myths, a goddess of the underworld. Of course in the myths we all know know she isn't, but that version still exists, and I feel like it should at least be considered. If you want a better explanation I would suggest Overly Sarcastic Productions' video on Persephone and Hades but to summarise it, Demeter and Persephone might have been two spooky eldritch goddesses before Greek speaking immigrants moved to the region and Poseidon fathered Persephone who was a horse while both he and Demeter were horses.
Demeter, as said multiple times now, is the mother of Persephone. Persephone whose name means 'bringer of destruction'. Persephone whose name was never said aloud as the greeks feared her wrath just as, if not more, than her husband's, whose name was also never spoken aloud. (I'm going to go off topic for a second here but Hades may not even be called Hades, and that might be the name of the underworld, showing just how feared he was if they were scared to even speak his name, scared of summoning his presence and causing death within the household. If that is how feared Hades was, imagine how feared Persephone must have been.) Persephone who killed a nymph (Minthe) because she said Hades was her lover and that she was better than Persephone, turned her into a plant (mint) and uses that flower as her own symbol. If Demeter can birth this well-feared goddess, then who is to say she couldn't birth an anarchist with a thirst for blood.
All in all, Demeter is, in my eyes, the best fit for the godly parent of Technoblade. She is loyal, vengeful, a goddess of harvest and has no mercy for those who have wronged her, as well as possibly having been a goddess of the underworld at some point and being the mother of one of the most feared gods during the era of Ancient Greece. If you think I'm wrong, about the myths or who his godly parent would be, please do disagree with me and tell me why I'm wrong, I would love to know why and what your opinions are! (/sincere)
