Mob AU But W A Twist

It’s so funny how reading Harry Potter fanfic has given me so much more knowledge about the lore than just reading the books. I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s brought this up but it’s new information to me so I’m sharing it lol.

But one thing that’s crazy to me is that canonically, Hermione has a wand with a dragon heartstring core, which is a wand core that turns easily to the Dark Arts. Of course that doesn’t mean she’s necessarily a baddie but it does imply that she’s capable of it. Meanwhile, Draco canonically has a wand with a unicorn hair core, which doesn’t easily turn to the Dark Arts. Which I feel implies that he’s capable of being good. Or at the very least, he wouldn’t likely be a baddie without outside intervention which…..there’s plenty of that in his life. It makes sense that they could meet in the middle, in the grey.

Idk it’s just interesting to think about when reading Dramione. Like those little details imply that Hermione has capabilities to be darker and Malfoy has capabilities to be lighter. And like…….Miss R*wling wrote that herself it’s not fanon. Every time I see people hating on Dramione I can’t help but be like, it’s genuinely not that crazy. Most fanfics don’t even have to stretch too far from canon to make the romance work. Idk, I just feel very strongly about this pairing and I hate when people are rude about disliking it.

So two things. I just find it so funny the amount of times I’ve googled “students in Harry Potter’s year” when I’m trying to think of side characters for a fic. Like how do I not have them all memorized, there aren’t that many! But I always really want to get someone super duper obscure idk. (But that obscure character just doesn’t exist)

But when I just googled that list and read the name Mandy Brocklehurst. Omg……..the tension my body reacted with was honestly so overdramatic but also so real lmao. I just remember being so obsessed with how much Theo hated her in Detraquee cause everything he said about her was how I felt too ❤️❤️❤️ lmao I was like get rid of her already!!!!!!! Lmao but honestly it’s one of those ways where I love to be tortured by a slow burn.

Anyway yeah just wanted to share. Poor girl barely exists in canon but just seeing her name gave me war flashbacks
