what if I did this and set the whole thing to run on korean time in real time (until the games start, then you gotta suspend some disbelief bc this fic updates weekly) and used it as a means to expand her backstory and motivations and explore how the games affect her even though she isn’t a POV character and
wouldn’t that be soooo wild
anyway. first three instalments coming sunday
we going back to the games with this one
I kinda wanna make a blog for my squid game OC and then do like a “what if she smuggled her phone into the games and was posting about it” concurrently with the fic she appears in
Everyone is talking about how Gi-hun will react after finding out that Hwang In-ho, also known as the Front Man, is actually Young-il—and how Jun-ho hid this truth from him. But no one is talking about Choi Woo-seok. How will that little boy handle the shocking reality that a former police officer is the Front Man? And that Jun-ho, a former detective, also kept this secret from him?
Woo-seok will feel utterly betrayed. His heart will shatter, and from every broken piece, a painful truth will echo: "Never trust the police."
sometimes I forget that sae-byeok is in her early twenties and possibly even 19 or 20 years old
"No one calls us home anymore," Sang-woo says, and he means it as a justification. An excuse. His life is empty, he is no longer a child to be cared for, no one calls for him and he has no home to go back to.
Gi-hun could have offered the obvious answer. He could have pointed out that Sang-woo's mother still calls him, that she talks to Gi-hun about her son whenever she sees him. We as the audience know that she asks if Gi-hun has heard from him, later, when she can't reach her son and worries if he's okay.
Gi-hun could have heard the excuse, the plea to give up, and he could have argued with Sang-woo or let him give up.
Instead, Gi-hun sees a reason for hope. He sees an opportunity. He hears, "No one calls us home anymore," and he holds his hand out immediately and says, "Let's go home."
Even if no one else will call Sang-woo home, Gi-hun will.
But Sang-woo doesn't take his hand. Sang-woo grabs the knife and takes his own life, instead, because the truth isn't really that no one calls him home anymore.
The truth is that Sang-woo is the one who stopped listening when they called.
guys guys guys I wanted to see if anyone had made an edit with this song and this is AMAZING and it has barely any views pls watch it it’s so good I promise
did anyone else start listening to k-pop because of squid game
97 lmao I am SO basic and vanilla I guess
y’all expose yourselves and take this fanfic test i was just forced to by an irl so now i’m making you too
have we talked about the fact that after the marble games — where everyone had to be responsible for the death of their most trusted ally or the love of their life — the survivors are led back to the dormitory, and let’s actually picture this for a second
gi-hun is probably still sobbing uncontrollably, sang-woo marching forward with his fixed thousand-yard stare, sae-byeok trying desperately not to break down, and then there’s the guy who just watched his wife die in front of him
after all of that, they’re forced to awkwardly stand there while mi-nyeo rubs it in that she skipped the whole thing
the point of this post, though, is that after that horrendous ordeal, they are given the most insulting meal of the entire games
the consolation potato 🥔
I regret to inform you all that after consulting with a friend I WILL be adding a doomed lesbian to this fic, in keeping with the traditions of this series
ok squid gang help me out here!!
I’m planning a fic set during a hypothetical future edition of the games, which means I need to come up with a new cast of characters to interact with the existing ones who’ll be involved
can anyone think of any believable reasons why people would be joining the game, which haven’t already been done repeatedly? I’m trying not to inadvertently copy canon characters but there are only so many ways I can think of to get into vast amounts of debt
I’ve got a couple of ideas but if anyone feels creative and has any thoughts please let me know!!
I need to figure out how to engage with my comfort show/characters without hyperfixating and burning out because on the one hand I really need that rn but on the other the last time I did that I hyperfocused on writing for ten hours straight
aaaaa
