got too excited that i’m going to see max race this weekend that i had to knit a sweater about it
Charles: Max! Come here, quick!
Max: *sighs* What now? Did you lose your phone again?
Charles: No! Just come-it’s important!
*Max walks in, clearly already over it.*
Charles: Hold Donut up next to your face. I need to check something.
Max: *confused* …What?
Charles: Just do it!
*Max holds Donut up. Both he and the cat stare at Charles with identical deadpan expressions.*
Charles: *gasps* Oh my god. You did give birth to him. The resemblance is uncanny!
Max: Fantastic. I’ve given birth to a judgmental furball. My legacy lives on.
Donut: meows like he’s about to file an HR complaint
Charles: Honestly? It’s like watching two clones judge me. Terrifying

I mean I just saw a post talking about the Getos accepting Satoru and that makes him think about giving up sorcery. And I'm here like, no?? That would never happen.
I'm very fond of the hc that Suguru had a very normal childhood, or as normal as one can have given his circumstances, and comes from a home — a place that has love for him. And Suguru used to take satoru with him to visit his parents and they were both very loved in that household. I love all of that. It's like a drug to me. But to take that and say that satoru would see them as an escape from the life of a sorcerer is just plain wrong.
But seeing the love and acceptance that satoru felt from suguru's parents and the love and acceptance that he knew was there for Suguru too, that would fuck him up when he comes to know about Suguru killing his parents.
This is not new, I love thinking about Suguru deciding to kill his parents, and then sticking to that decision and carrying it out and living with those consequences. Living with that on his conscience. But I also do love the way satoru reacts to all of this. He is surprised and horrified. And that does kinda point towards him knowing them because otherwise I kinda don't see the guy who was separated from his parents at a young age care about the implications of suguru's actions. Especially when he's just 17. And I love to chew on it. A satoru who takes on suguru's part of grief that comes friom his actions too, because suguru refuses to feel it.
I love all of that, but to argue that satoru feels like he lost a way of life because of that is a disservice to who satoru is.
Pairing: Max Verstappen/Sebastian Vettel
Summary:
Mirrors were a funny thing. Stare into one long enough, and you might as well be looking at a stranger. Someone wearing your face, carrying your accomplishments, but so warped by time and circumstance that you couldn’t recognise them at all.
Everything seems to be going against Max in the lead up to Brazil. Sebastian might be the only one who understands.
