Charles Doesn't Get Anywhere Near Enough Credit For How Fucking Funny He Is.

Last match of the season. The game rarely ever comes down to this. Max knows Charles is going to be in his head, always is, before a match. They play West Ham today. Fate isn't entirely in their hands, if Man City wins against Liverpool, they will be second. If they tie or lose, they win. He knows Charles hates that. He knows in his heart, Charles will win. Richmond will win.

"Will you be there?"

Max blinks the sleep out of his eyes, Max is always there. He has loved this sport before Charles. He has loved Richmond longer.

"Of course."

Why are you asking? hangs in the air. Charles tip toes around it, refolding the same shirt thrice. Today, Max will be patient. He tries to be, always. Charles rarely ever leaves him wanting. He gives and he gives without asking. For him, Max will wait. Always.

"If we don't-" his mouth clicks shut, Max wants to pull Charles back into the bed.

"If we don't win, will you still kiss me?"

Max frowns at him, "I will, of course, always kiss you."

"No." He shakes his head,

Then again before sitting at the foot of the bed.

"In the audience, at the railings." He stops the abuse on the shirt in his hand, resting it on Max's duvet covered feet, "If I come to you, will you kiss me? Even if we don't win."

Also i have thoughts about just domestic lestappen:

Charles lounging on the sofa and Max snuggled back into him, head against Charles's chest and Charles stroking his hair as Max plays some geography game on his phone and maxplains it to a very amused charles

Max is the little spoon i don't make the rules

Leo loves Jimmy and Sassy, only one of the cats loves Leo (but they have a treuce when it comes to nights cos they all wanna sleep on the bed with the humans)

They can't really shower together because Charles likes a very warm shower and Max claims he feels like he is being boiled

They still sometimes sit in the bathroom while the other showers when they didn't finish their very (not) important conversation yet

When Max isn't wearing red bull gear, he likes to wear Charles's clothes

They have a long running Mario kart championship between the two of them

I feel like Max would initiate a lot of cuddles and kisses but Charles is the one to deepen the kiss

Just ggrrrr max maxplaining away about something and Charles curls those ringed fingers around Max's chin and drags him into a sloppy kiss

Charles puts up a pic of the two of them somewhere and it inspires Max, who then puts pics of them together everywhere around the apartment

Charles secretly drinks the red bull max always has in stock

There are 2 sim set ups side by side so they can play together (max still does sim racing much more than Charles tho)

Max dozes off when Charles is playing piano and while Charles mock complains about max thinking it's boring, he is happy Max feels safe

On that note Charles teaching Max some piano, sitting behind him on the tiny bench and guiding his hands while kissing his neck and cheeks👀👀👀

Max learns French and Charles loves his little accent

Charles struggles more with Dutch but puts in the effort

Max hoards blankets in his sleep but Charles will happily get them back and just cuddle closer

Max sitting on the kitchen counter while Charles makes eggs (they both suck at cooking)

Charles waking Max up by presses kissing to his spin and shoulders until he squirms👀👀👀👀

Anyways this has turned out to be soft max and slightly dominant Charles and i love it

“Of course not.”
