Hey I just got some new followers and I don’t have the time/energy to message everyone individually, so here is a big annoying public reminder:

The M C U whitewashed Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, their parents, and Wanda’s kids. In the source material, these characters are consistently– albeit imperfectly– written and portrayed as members of the Romani diaspora, which is a racialized ethnic group that originated in South Asia, and their backstory makes explicit reference to systemic anti-Romani racism in Europe. Adapting these characters with white actors, while still using pejorative language and imagery, is racist. It is erasure. That’s not up for debate. 

I am an American of Cale Romani descent. The content that I create and curate on this blog is meant to bring authenticity to characters which are otherwise deeply flawed representations of my community.
