Hey I just got some new followers and I don’t have the time/energy to message everyone individually, so here is a big annoying public reminder:

The M C U whitewashed Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, their parents, and Wanda’s kids. In the source material, these characters are consistently– albeit imperfectly– written and portrayed as members of the Romani diaspora, which is a racialized ethnic group that originated in South Asia, and their backstory makes explicit reference to systemic anti-Romani racism in Europe. Adapting these characters with white actors, while still using pejorative language and imagery, is racist. It is erasure. That’s not up for debate. 

I am an American of Cale Romani descent. The content that I create and curate on this blog is meant to bring authenticity to characters which are otherwise deeply flawed representations of my community. I do not want M C U or Wanda//Vision fans on my blog unless you are here to learn about Romani history and anti-Romani racism in pop culture. Check these links: [x][x][x]

a GIANT shoutout to those of y'all in the dq/roddaverse fandom whomst at any point headcanoned, fancast, etc any of the characters as asian like. idk i just suddenly remembered i saw multiple posts where characters from this very Western, European, White Fantasy Story that is so close to my heart were instead given depictions that actually !! remind me of !!! me !!!! !!
