where did this misconception come from that cc!wilbur is a control freak dm that doesn’t listen to the roleplayers

ive seen so many people pass around a list of “reasons why cc!wilbur is a bad writer” but half of those aren’t even really applicable???

first of all, cc!wilbur was basically absent for season 2. he was not a head writer for season 2. i cannot stress this enough that cc!wilbur was not nearly as involved in the writing process as he was in season 1. stop coming from this angle, it’s literally not true

“cc!wilbur forced adult ages onto c!tommy and c!tubbo’s characters” literally when. all he said was that when writing it was what he had in mind. as of canon they’re still teenagers so why does this matter. honestly i don’t really blame him since no one will shut up about how his character “forced them to be child soldiers”

“cc!niki didn’t know about the festival and was left out of the loop” yeah, i really mean it when i say what happened to cc!niki was bad and unprofessional. it’s unfortunate that their communication wasn’t as great as it could’ve been, especially considering cc!wilbur wasn’t informed about the festival either

“the fandom has a problem of not thinking something is canon if cc!wilbur isn’t behind it” yes. this is a problem. how is it cc!wilbur’s fault. unless there is a clip of him saying “yeah disregard anything that isn’t my lore” there is no reason to get angry at him specifically for it. it’s literally the fandom

(if any cc! should get this blame it should be philza. he was the one that first stated “yeah wilbur isn’t behind it so idk if it’s canon.” he was the one that began this line of thought even if unintentional)

TLDR: stop taking out fandom problems on the cc!s. there is no point to it. even if the other streamers had a problem with how cc!wilbur was running things,,, they’re adults? they’re literally friends?? they don’t need a gaggle of fans shit talking one another and throwing around rumors??? 

can we please stop using the word manipulation by itself

I am so tired of people saying “Poor ___(usually Tommy), he got manipulated by _____(usually Wilbur)!!” like ok? care to elaborate? care to tell me what he manipulated him into doing? Did he guilt trip him into giving him a cookie or did he push him into a traumatizing situation?

Manipulation is not a synonym for abuse!! Or for hurting someone!! Manipulation means to use underhanded tactics to persuade someone of doing something. Yes, its not a good thing to do! And yes, manipulation is common in abusive relationships and can be used to hurt someone by manipulating them into a situation that may hurt them! But just saying that manipulation by itself means literally nothing! I may not agree with the some of these takes but please, at least word your takes like “Wilbur manipulated Tommy into joining L’Manberg.” 

Also while we’re at it can we please stop using gaslighting as a synonym for manipulation. It’s not. Please.

Nothing will truly please any of you, will it? Alivebur could open his entire heart up, be the most honest he's ever been with his feelings, laying it all on the table, getting it all out, truly showing who he actually is - and all of you would take it as manipulation.

Like you did with yesterday's stream, in which Alivebur poured his heart out and cried.

But it's not enough, it will never be enough, you guys will never be satisfied, because you only see one thing - an evil boom boom man, and not a person who is hurting, who is anxious, who is grasping onto life, taunting his rival, becoming a chef. You never even stopped for one second to consider that Alivebur is telling the truth, never gave him a second of sympathy. Nothing will be enough, and what I've seen since the stream has proved it
