T Journey Journal Entry #3

Time Since Start: 5 days

Oily. I am nothing but oily. Like at this point I better be careful before the US tries to invaide me for “freedom”((: Usually if my mental health gets bad I know I can go one day without a shower and my hair and skin will feel fine. But now? I’m not sure that’s possible. There’s so much oil on my skin and face and hair that I’m sure later down the line I’ll have to shower twice a day. Not in the sense that I’m complaining by any means, I knew this was gonna happen I just didn’t know it would be the first thing to happen on T. Haven’t noticed much else besides continuing to feel more awake and all that. Although, have been waaaaay hungrier as of late, much to the detriment of the ingridient house Mamá and Mr. Tennessee have cultivated((:

Speaking of, hopefully talking about Mamá won’t be a part of every entry, but it does remind me of a comment she made at Christmas. Mamá being herself means Christmas is usually filled with more practical gifts, socks, chones, so on so forth, and one of those gifts were shampoo and conditioner. It’s a brand that works well for my hair but she threw in a comment about how my younger sister (who got the same type of shampoo/conditioner) and I had “gross oily hair”. Kinda threw me for a loop bc I’ve never heard her talk ab any of us like that. She meant it as a joke or throwaway comment but that was just, uncalled for.

okay but if you ever see a male creative who had a string of great work and then everything else he did was dogshit, go to the "personal life" part of his wikipedia and look at his relationships. you'll either find a major tragedy he didn't recover from (completely understandable) or, more likely, there was a woman in his life doing uncredited shit editing his stuff or contributing generally and she's not there anymore.

I told a friend about this phenomenon in literature and he called me weeks later like, I remembered what you said about women doing uncredited work when tim burton came up. he made a string of bangers then everything else just was nowhere near as good. the timeline matches perfectly to when he was with this german visual artist (lena gieseke). he's done some good work in collaboration, but if things were dug into I suspect we would find she did a lot more than people realise.

so yeah whenever you look around like wow women didn't work in history, or, women aren't auteurs, or, there just aren't as many great female writers - societal reasons for that aside, half the time they absolutely did.

Please help Sami Al-Khalili (@alkliliyfamliys) and his family escape the bombing and siege of Gaza. Like many Gazans, they have been displaced and are living in tents exposed to the elements. Sami's mother is facing health issues which they cannot find the medical resources to treat. They are suffering under the siege every day, any money can help them towards their goal. They have been vetted on the list by @gazavetters and are #21 Sami Alkhliliy.

“If you were in Sami's place, what would you do? • If your home was reduced to rubble, would you cry… or try to stay strong? • If you looked into your hungry children’s eyes, would you stay silent… or scream for help? I am Sami, and this is my reality—not fiction. I lost everything, and I’m still searching for just enough to keep my family alive. What can you do? • I can donate and support you • I can share your story with the world • I can pray for you from the heart”

Do you live in Massachusetts? Are you looking for some direct action to take? Guess what our shitty state house just did!

tweet reading: The Massachusetts House has taken a major step towards banning trans athletes in sports. It would be the first blue state to do so. The amendment has been inserted into the state budget bill. This is a five alarm fire for trans people in Massachusetts.

It’s passed in the house and going to the state senate as far as I can tell and it seems like they just snuck it in there because ???. So it’s time to harass your state senator and rep. You can find them here: https://malegislature.gov/Search/FindMyLegislator

Call them, email them, send them letters, protest outside their doors, whatever. Let them know this will not stand here

(Quds) At Microsoft’s 50th anniversary celebration, Ibtehal AbuSaad — a Palestinian employee — interrupted the event in a powerful protest against the company’s complicity in the Israeli genocide unfolding in Gaza.

Facing Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, AbuSaad didn’t hold back: “Shame on you,” she said firmly. “You are a war profiteer. Stop using AI for genocide.”

Her voice cut through the celebration as she condemned Microsoft’s role in enabling Israeli occupation forces through artificial intelligence technology.

“You have blood on your hands. All of Microsoft has blood on its hands. How dare you all celebrate while Microsoft is helping kill Palestinian children?”

Her act of courage joins a growing wave of tech workers and global voices calling out Western complicity in Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza, where tens of thousands of Palestinians — the majority of them women and children — have been slaughtered under a brutal siege.

A reminder that sell-buy dates or best-used-by dates are not the same as expiration dates.

I love that a food bank is providing this info as they are experts in stretching food budgets and knowledgable in shelf-stable food items
