I had three Dennis the Menace dolls when I was little. His creator, Hank Ketchum, was a fan and admirer of the work of Chuck Jones. This fabulous mixed media work will be available at the Red Dot auction on Saturday, May 11, from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. Here's more information on how to purchase tickets: http://chuckjonescenter.org/red_dot_auction_tickets

A great idea for the kids during Spring break!
Make roads, train tunnels AND caves out of one cardboard box. This craft is essentially free, made of recycled materials and toys you already have at home and will keep kids occupied for HOURS.

I love using #Furoshiki!
This holiday season, try using furoshiki to wrap your gifts and cut down on paper waste!
Sigh!

This is a less-than-6 minute video showing the brilliance that was created during the Middle Ages. Dark? I don't think so! What do you think?
This story enchants me.
One of my favorite photos currently at the #Getty by #hiroshihamaya- ‘Children Singing in a Snow Cave’- Niigata Prefecture, 1956. Hamaya is quoted about the photo, he says, “The village Toka-machi is famous for snow. On the night of the Lunar New Year, snow caves are made all over town. Children light candles, bring braziers, and have dinner inside. Adults are invited to be their guests. They sing bird-chasing songs to the beat of clappers. It’s the children’s kingdom all through the towns and villages.” …Is there anything more lovely than that?
I could easily fall asleep while reading a book in this serene nest!
Now, this is a path I would love to explore.
Wooden trails in Taipingshan National Forest, Taiwan (Travel in Real Taiwan).
A 2014 resolution!
That exudes awesome energy!
