When you picked up Jungkook's call you didn't expect him to utter a desperate and exhausted "I need you", followed shortly by a deep, wretched sigh.

You didn't ask follow up questions. Didn't ask where he had been for the last two weeks, why he didn't answer you texts or calls. Simply because you know exactly how he must feel like if he calls you because he feels vulnerable and helpless. And you'll always be there for him whenever needs you.

20 minutes later and you're knocking on his door. He doesn't open immediately, but once he does you're left with a very confusing picture.

Jungkook has a tiny, sleeping baby in his arms.

"She just fell asleep, please don't make too much noise," Jungkook whispers.

You close the door as you enter his apartment, your eyes not leaving the small baby girl in his arms.

The second thing you notice is how tired Jungkook looks like. His hair is a mess, you can see the dark bags under his eyes from a distance.

You don't notice the state of his apartment - messy, unorganised and chaotic - until later, you are too distracted fixing your attention on Jungkook's big arms carrying a tiny human. His tattooed arm is supporting her neck while his other hand is placed on her back.

Jungkook walks down the hallway and you follow him.

"Are you a babysitter now? What have I missed?"

Jungkook enters his gaming/home gym room and the slight jocularity that had spread through you disappears as soon as you take a look around the room.

There's a crib. In his room. Where his whole gaming set up was supposed to be.

Jungkook bends down, softly placing the little girl inside the crib. He saunters back to you, leaving the door ajar.

"Who's baby is that?" you inquire. The answer should be obvious but it can't be.

With a deep stare into you eyes he says, "It's my baby." He closes his eyes, seemingly aware of how bizarre and sudden this must sound for you.

You blink once, twice. But you don't know what to say.

Jungkook starts walk towards his living room and you're right behind him.

"I...I haven't seen you for two weeks now and you...you have a baby?"

He leans against the back of his couch and you halt in front of him.

"God, I know how fucking absurd this looks like. I mean, I didn't know either."

Your brows instantly go up at this. "What? What do you mean you didn't know either?"

"I-" He ruffles his hair, eyes cast down before he continues a moment later. "Sora showed up, like two weeks ago, with Nabi in a car seat and told me that she'd been pregnant after we broke up and..." Jungkook trails off, one of his hands forming into a fist. "She said she thought the baby was from her boyfriend - or ex-boyfriend now, I don't fucking know - but after Nabi was born he insisted on taking a paternity test. He wasn't Nabi's dad."

Your mouth hangs open. "Are you sure that you're...?"

"She promised. Sora promised she hadn't been with any other men." Jungkook continues, "She was crying. And I told her that we should talk about this, discuss things. But she wouldn't listen. She said she couldn't do this alone, said that she had tried but everything became too much for her. And then she left. She fucking left me alone with a baby. I didn't have food, or clothes or diapers or anything."

"I was...I didn't know what to do. I called Sora. Hundredths of times. She didn't pick up once. I messaged her, asked her to help me, told her that we could somehow figure this out. But she blocked me. She fucking blocked me!"

"Fuck, Sora left without even telling me Nabi's name!" He raises his hands in the air, his anger taking over. "I only found out because she put the birth certificate in that stupid baby car seat."

You see the tears shining in his eyes, but you stay quiet, allowing him to continue his rant.

"And then I went to the store to buy her stuff. I bought diapers and clothes and formula. But then this lady told me I wasn't allowed to buy more than two boxes of formula, which, what the fuck? I don't fucking understand that."

"You know, I thought, I though maybe I could handle this. But I just - I can't, y/n. I swear I tried. I tried so fucking hard to be a good dad but this, this won't work. I don't - I don't know what to do anymore. I haven't showed up at work since she's here. I could hire a babysitter, but shit, you saw how small she is? I'm not letting Nabi alone with a fucking stranger. She is my...I can't do that."

A single tear rolls down his cheek. "Hey," you whisper softly, a hand traveling up his face to swipe his tear away.

"I tried to be good. I tried everything, y/n. But she's always crying and screaming and I don't know what to do anymore. I'm exhausted."

"It's okay," you tell him, wiping away another tear. "We can figure this out together."

In that moment, Nabi's wailing is heard from her room. You stop Jungkook before he can move to get her.

"I'll get her. You can stay here."

Once you're in Nabi's room you scoop her up in your arms. "Hi Nabi," you coo. You sway her in your arms and she slowly calms down. She's still awake though, watching you with her big eyes. They look similar to Jungkook's.

As you look around the room you can't help but think about how ridiculous it looks. There's a treadmill, a power rack and a pec deck machine and then there's a wooden crib in the corner. How lovely.

"You're not gonna leave that room like that, are you?" You ask as you walk back and sit down next to Jungkook on the couch, Nabi still in your arms.

"I'll renovate that room. I just haven't had time for that yet."

You look down at Nabi, her eyes slowly falling shut. "How old is she?"

"Almost 4 weeks." Jungkook gazes at you both. "Her cuteness makes up for the restless nights she gives me."

You look at him and notice the redness in his eyes. You don't know if it's because of the lack of sleep or because he just cried a little. Nonetheless, he looks exhausted as hell and you feel sorry for him. He shouldn't have to do this all by himself."

"Thank you for coming."

"I'll always be here when you need me." With a soft smile adorning your face you try to tame his unkempt hair. "How are you feeling?"

A gloomy sigh escapes his mouth. "Tired."

"Didn't get any sleep in the last 2 weeks?"

He rubs his eyes. "Barely." Jungkook puts his head back, sighing deeply with closed eyes. "I just don't get why Sora thought Nabi would be better off with me. I'm fucking miserable at this. I'm alone and supposed to raise a child? A baby ? This- this is not gonna fucking work."

"Hey," you frown and nudge him lightly on the shoulder. "You have me." You scoot closer to him. "You'll always have me."

He doesn't look assured yet, so you add, "We can do this together, Koo. You don't have to be alone. We'll go through this together. You and me. Just like always." You give him an encouraging smile and you see the hope  slowly springing up in his sad eyes.

"You'd to that?" he inquires. "You'd to this with me?" His voice is quiet, almost like he's afraid to ask that question.

"I'm not leaving you. Not ever."

"You're like-" He pauses, brooding over his next words. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."

Your whole body gets drowned in a silly, euphoric feeling. A shy smile appears on your face.

"Get some rest. I'll be here for the whole time." Looking down at the tiny girl in your arms you say, "I'll take good care of her."

Jungkook gets up and stands in front of you. "Thank you," he whispers. Gently, he cups your face with his big hands. His thumbs slowly skim over your skin. "I don't deserve you." Jungkook leans down, pressing a feather light kiss to your forehead.

You cleaned Jungkook's whole apartment. It was a mess when you got here and now every thing is tidy again. Hopefully it'll stay like this.

Now it's 2am, Nabi is in a deep slumber after you fed her, and you need to go home.

You don't want to leave without letting Jungkook know. Slowly, you open his bedroom door. He lies on his stomach, limbs outstretched and fast asleep, just like his little girl in the next room.

You knock on the door. "Jungkook?"

He tosses in his bed but contrary to your expectations, he immediately rises from the bed, stumbling on his feet as he strides towards you.

"Everything good?" he makes sure, voice groggy.

"Yeah, everything's fine. Nabi's asleep and I've tidied up your apartment. I don't think I've ever seen it this clean," you chuckle.

A weak smile falls on Jungkook's lips. "You're the best," he mutters, pulling you into a hug. He rests his chin on your head and slowly sways to the left and right with you. "You're the the best," he repeats, his nose rubbing against your hair and inhaling deep. "And you smell good."

You giggle. "And you're drunk on sleep." You push him back by the chest, leaning away a little. "I think I should go now."

"No, no no. What are you talking about?" A slight frown settles on his features. "You can stay here." He pauses, then adds, a little softer, "I need you to stay over. Please?"

Before you realise it, you're already nodding.

And then Nabi starts crying. She cried a lot while you were cleaning up Jungkook's apartment, but never for too long, somehow she always calmed down when she was in your embrace.

"I'll get her," Jungkook says. "I think she got used to sleeping in my bed at night."

He leaves the room to get Nabi and you're left with a slight pout on your lips, the thought of Jungkook sleeping with teeny tiny Nabi in his big bed making your heart clench.

Not soon after you're dressed in something comfier and have brushed your teeth. You slide into the bed, Nabi already in the middle of the bed, close to Jungkook. Despite her loud cries from earlier, she seems to be fast asleep again.

"She's so tiny," you say, brushing over her soft cheek with your finger.

"Thanks for staying with me."

You look over at Jungkook, smiling. "Of course."

Jungkook pecks your cheek, whispering the softest "Love you" you've ever heard.

"Love you too, new baby daddy."

Jungkook grimaces. "Don't call me that."

"But that's what you are now," you point out.

"Well, then you're my baby mama."

Now you're the one grimacing. "Ew. That sounds awful."

"But that's what you are now," he mimics you.

You roll your eyes. "Just go back to sleep please."

"The come closer. Why the fuck are you so far away." Jungkook grabs your waist and draws you closer.

"I don't wanna crush Nabi."

But Jungkook is having none of that. He grabs your calve, pulling your leg over his body. "Now I can go to sleep." He slides an arm across Nabi, placing it on your hip.

You nuzzle your face into the pillow that smells of him. "Good night."

"Good night, baby."

“Okay, left. Left. Left. Oh! Right. Right!” Seokjin yelled in your ear, making you wince and try to pull away from him; an attempt that proved unsuccessful as his arm around your shoulder only got tighter. He huffed at your movement, trying to wrestle the phone out of your grip.

“Oh my god get off me, you loser!” you screamed dramatically as he almost climbed on your lap, as always refusing to give up till he had your phone in your hand. He then settled back on the couch next to you, patting you on the head condescendingly. While you stewed beside him, he continued to swipe through the app, even messaging matches, till you rolled your eyes and went to the kitchen to make some popcorn instead.

You sigh as you stare at the clock hanging on the wall from your seat at the dining table. Namjoon promised he would be home by 9:00 for dinner, but it was nearly midnight and he still wasn’t home.

As disappointed as you were at another empty promise, you couldn’t say you were surprised. Last week was even worse, with five missed dates and you were just about done with Namjoon.

You understood that he was a busy man, but if he knew he couldn’t fit you in his schedule, he shouldn’t get your hopes up by planning dates with you and then not showing up.

You already missed him so much, and the feeling of getting stood up five times a week was not a good feeling. You didn’t want to doubt him after he treated you with so much love and care, but you couldn’t help but feel a little self-conscious.
