As a POC who married a white guy, I didn't know I was so into these until I got a little older. It doesn't matter who is what but the moment I see POC x Non-POC, I'm immediately hooked.
Sir Torsten Unger and Olleander! I wanted them to be together so bad, I could taste it. I mean, they were together but like I needed more because I'm an addict.
I just finished Defy the Stars but this has WAY MORE PERSONAL TOUCH TO IT BECAUSEEEEEEEE THE MC is Latina and Abel is a blonde guy. Not to mention our names use the same first letter, lol.
I told my husband about Noemi and Abel and he said: "Are you fetishizing me? I'm husband." It's kinda funny because my husband has autism, so some of the funny things he says kind reminds me of Abel.
So, yes, if you are writing a poc x non-poc in your book. I will read it and project myself on it so hard.

Hey, I was wondering...what do you guys think about posting sketches on here? I have so much stuff that I don't intend to post on Instagram. I'm partially afraid it'll be made fun of or unliked because it's not perfect art.

How to name an OC ✨
I love doing world building and I love helping people with their worlds. If you need some help naming OCs, this is a great way to do it.

How to make an OC ✨👩🏽! I hope this is helpful :)?
I spent 2 days writing in my novel, hated it, asked people to read it followed be an entire day spent rewriting it. lmao.
I’ve gotten the question/request of how I draw wings lots and lots so I’ve decided to make a dedicated post!
Now…I’m no master, but I have found a way that I like to draw wings that’s efficient for me. There three main points:
References
Simplification
Texture Management
My favorite wing reference of all time is this post by Jenn on Twitter. I have both the images saved but I use the Wing Shapes one, below, alllllll the time. Like for real all the time!
I also keep pretty extensive collections of wing photo reference. When I’m having trouble, I’ll trace a few or do studies to get back into the swing of things. Here are links to my Pinterest boards:
Broadwing Reference (passive soaring and high-speed)
Longwing Reference (active soaring)
Shortwing Reference (elliptical and hovering)
When I sketch wings, I simplify Jenn’s diagram even further -
For me, the key to drawing wings is simplifying the wing down - from the structure to the feathers - the goal for me is to be able to draw them quickly and have the proper information conveyed. It needs to look like a wing in the base sketch. If it doesn’t, no amount of rendering and extra feathers will help. I like to break the wing into the three main moving parts. The orange is one part, then the purple contains two main chunks feathers that you can group together and move as their own parts.
On top of that, I like to think of wings like a sheet of paper. They can bend and fold in on themselves, with the orange meaty bits anchoring everything together.
I like to call wings “texture monsters”. Feathers are hard to manage and can easily make wings look over-busy and muddy. Just like before, I break the wing into chunks so I can spend less time drawing the wing and it’s feathers:
Then you can put it all together and push things further -
So yeah this is how I throw wings together! The wings I draw aren’t super technical or detailed, but I what matters for me is that they look and feel like believable wings at a glance -

My first anatomy tutorial. How I connect arms to the torso. Simplified the muscles for better comprehension
PS. Pectoral is misspelled as “pectorial” in the picture. Don’t make that mistake haha
And I’d love to see the art made from using these as reference, you can message or tag me.. whatever you want
Edit: The extended names of the muscles:
Neck - Sternocleidomastoideus
Traps - Trapezius
Lats - Latissimus Dorsi
Donna slept only a few hours before the silence woke her and she jolted out of bed, laying back down briefly at her whole person reminding her that she was, for certain, injured and should take it easy. Instead, she shifted off of the bed and took to searching for the dangerous snake in her home, crawling his way into unsuspecting corners of dust, burying his way in likely to bite her whenever he had the chance. She pulled a black hoodie over her body that did not seem to belong to her due to the size that hover near her middle-thigh but it was comfortable and warm.
Taking a few steps down, she started to search for the evil snake that she knew was on the ground floor. Donna entered the bedroom, finding James on the bed and a little gasp passed from her lips her hand pressed to keep her from making too much noise. She opened her phone, took a picture and quickly viewed it to see if he was fully asleep or just laying down. When she was sure that he was asleep from the photo, she entered the room by slipping inside slowly as if she were as thin as the door itself. Donna's steps were inaudible as if she were a snowflake falling on a house of snow, no sound in how lightly her socks tread on the carpet until she paused by the window that glean very little light on him but now she could see him without any words, any awkwardness and view him from the snake's den that she was too curious about.
She swallowed, approaching as she gazed over his body on the bed and the contour of his muscles in his upper body and his legs. She wondered if she touched him if he would even notice since it seemed to be made of armor and not skin to her, so she gently placed her hand against the weird side muscles and stared. yes, i do write creepy ass girls doing creepy things ;p
The air bit down, negative temperatures tended to leave burned skin if out too long in it. The woman had wait, her gaze on the elk's until it had passed with the gloss of its eyes pausing, dried, the eye tilted skyward. It bothered her to end life but the arctic only had one way to live: kill or be killed. Avrora waited, the sensation that something had it's eye on her, definitely on her back and she wondered if the two were alone.
There were polar bears, huge ones, this far south but she rarely saw them and she stood up with a wipe to her hands, "Anyone there? Come out if you are." Avrora paused, waiting, when she saw nothing in the darkness she lowered down and started to work on tying the creature first. Never interested in the organs as they never kept, she cut a cavity and yanked the beast back to keep too much blood from staining it since she would need to drag it back to her home for further use. Since she was never very strong, she needed to use all the skills she had to her advantage and she tied the ropes to the beast and started to latch them together to make a rope hardness for her to put on over her body.
For now, she tied knots, pulled rope in silence but the feeling of being watched never left her.
