Was too fun to make.
I love that Nico always becomes friends with every weird creature, God, Titan, etc that is just not accepted or overlooked by everyone else. He's such a sweetheart.
He's the only one that talked to Hestia in the campfire. He became friends with Bob and made sure that he knew Percy was a good person. He became friends with the troglodytes.
And it's all because he knows what it's like to be judged and set aside because you're weird, and he doesn't want anyone else to go through that.
I feel like the fandom often portrays him as antisocial or mean, when he's actually the opposite, he's just super sarcastic and that gets misinterpreted a lot.
Y’all, I need fic recommendations to introduce someone to the phandom, please give me some-
LISTEN. What if Nimueh tricked Uther and instead of taking Ygraine’s life to have Arthur she trades Uther’s. Ygraine doesn’t ban magic and maybe makes Balinor a lord although he travels around the kingdoms trying to round up all the dragons so he can protect them or something. Hunith insists on teaching Merlin that he has to work for things and not just demand them from people so Merlin grows up pretty much the same. Maybe him and Arthur meet as kids and they get into a fight in the court-yard and they come back to the castle covered in mud but grinning like idiots because they made a new friend. That was the only time they’d actually seen each other but they never forget. anD THEN AFTER A FEW YEARS. Ygraine throws a ball for Arthur’s 20th birthday and Arthur is talking to the knights and then they announce Merlin’s arrival(his parents were busy with the dragons and couldn’t come), anD HE’S DECKED OUT ON A GOLDEN SUIT AND ARTHUR GETS SO DISTRACTED HE SPILLS AN ENTIRE GOBLET OF WINE ON HIS CLOTHES AND ALL THE KNIGHTS ARE LIKE “the fuck????” and anyway obviously Merlin makes fun of him and they start the whole bickering/bantering friendship and obviously they fall in love and someone makes an off-hand comment about how Camelot’s colors have always been red and gold

This is the feelings wheel by Geoffrey Roberts, shown to me by my therapist. My initial thought was, "what amazing synonyms to use for diverse emotional vocabulary!"
More than that, this wheel is great for understanding your characters inner motivations and reactions to situations. For example, if a character constantly feels helpless, then their overarching characteristics will be that they are fearful.
Characters who are less emotionally aware may use words and act in the inner most circle. Those much more aware of their emotions may describe themselves or express and use words from the outer most circle.
Hopefully you guys find this as helpful as I did! Let me know down in the comments.
Happy Writing!
Will introducing Nico to different cuisines: This is shrimp fried rice
Nico in awe: you’re telling me a shrimp fried this rice??
Percy in the kitchen commanding the shrimps: keep at it boys
he’s a firebender!
i don't think people understand how hard it is not to ship tomarry / harrymort because what do you mean they're borderline canonically soulmates. what do you mean they're PROPHESIED to each other. what do you mean they're literal parallels, had the same childhood circumstances but turned out the exact opposite. what do you mean harry's the embodiment of the light side and tom's the embodiment of the dark even though they're so, so similar. what do you mean they both have common names even though they themselves are anything but common. what do you mean they have uncountable amount of bible references that apply strictly to them, what do you mean harry makes sure to mention tom's the handsomest in the room whenever he sees him and apparently likes their connection. what do you mean their wands share the core of the same phoenix and therefore literally can't kill each other even if they wanted to. what do you mean harry wanted to give him another chance despite everything he's done, what do you mean tom offered him his hand, what do you mean harry killed tom at the same age except the order of the numbers is reversed. what do you mean harry's eyes are the same colour as tom's favourite unforgivable (avada) AND the colour of his house, what do you mean TOM'S eyes are the colour of harry's favourite defence spell (expelliarmus) and the colour of his house. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY ARE EACH OTHER'S OTHER HALF. WHAT DO YOU MEAN HARRY IS LITERALLY TOM'S SOUL??? 😭
NOT TO MENTION THESE THINGS AREN'T EVEN FANON LIKE...? lmk if i missed something though.
Despite the fact that I am not deaf, mute, or blind myself, one of the most common questions I receive is how to portray characters with these disabilities in fiction.
As such, I’ve compiled the resources I’ve accumulated (from real life deaf, mute, or blind people) into a handy masterlist.
