For class
Doggies drawings!
Update: teacher told us to give the ball a face. Plus lines of movement
Hello
I am at animation class right now, se here’s what we’re doing
Animation art from the “Firebird” sequence from Disney’s FANTASIA 2000 (1999).
For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - there’s an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.
It’s got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you don’t have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.
Examples (all done by me):
Here’s an example for how you can use it
Apparently, in my school there are this…boxes. Chair boxes. Boxes that look like chairs. I don’t know, they are weird.
I’m starting to study FOL for my upcoming exam we don’t know when we will take, and I’m doing another Projects’s homework I’m still confused about, but it’s due tomorrow so… I must do it. Plus some drawings I did this week.
could u do a tutorial on shading? how do u get your lines so straight? im a huge fan of ur art and i would love to learn how !!
Shading (without a specific light source)
1. Flat Colors
2. Add a lighter color or a darker color to the original color in order to add more value to the flat colors.
If you look at the image below it shows the comparisons of the new color that was added to the original color in order to see the difference between the two.
3. Add the shadows in order to show which object is above another object. To create the shadows I used the colors shown below and set them to ‘multiply’. This adds more depth to your work.
4. Use ‘multiply’ to give more emphasis on certain aspects on your work. Like for example the leaves.
5. Add the finishing touches and you are done!
Shading (with a specific light source)
All you gotta do is determine where the light source is. In the image below, the light source is the sun. The little sun will guide you on which parts should be illuminated or shaded.
Here are some examples:
In order to see the difference that shading can do, here is a process gif!!!
As for lines, I believe that everyone’s style is different. Some choose to do little strokes while others do just one big stroke. As for me, I just do one big stroke in order to maintain the fluidity and consistency of the line. Here is a picture of comparison:
If you want smooth lines then just try and draw it in one swift movement. If you don’t get it right, don’t erase the part that went wrong (because it will be obvious that it’s no longer one line but 2 lines because the continuity of the original line and the new line won’t be the same). You have to redo the whole line from the beginning.
If you practice this a lot you will notice that your lines will be better and at the same time, you will work faster because you don’t have to do so many strokes. Btw when you draw the line do it fast, like really fast, so that you won’t encounter any mistakes.
Just draw a lot and you will get the hang of it and I also hope you know that each artist has their own style. So maybe the one swift stroke works for me but the many short strokes work for you. Just draw in a way that’s more comfortable to you. Anyway, hope this was helpful and have a good day!
A comic I did two years ago and never finished
Part 01
I know, my friend. It hurts. But'll remember him properly, like you said, as a bright star.
Why is this whole situation so ironic? I mean why music can heal the people who listen to it, and why it doesn’t have that power on the musician who make it. The last person who died was Kim Jong Hyun, the one who inspire me to write this whole thing. I receive the notice when I was on the bus on my way home and since then I can stop crying. He has committed suicide. He had depression and after some time he died. His case hit me real hard, I have been a ‘’real’’ kpop fan since this February and I have also have depression. It’s hard to deal with it. You truly pretend to be the happiest person on this world on the exterior. To make the ones around you believe it, to not make them notice how you feel because if they do you suddenly feel more like a burden than you already do it before. But inside of your brain all things change, you feel like and absolute shit and you only think that the only thing you do is feeling that you don’t matter to anyone even to yourself. But back to the real thing, he was one of the best singers that Korea has had, part of one of the most famous and successful gups that the kpop industry has have, one person whose smile could light up your day, who was a little dork, in conclusion, he made you love him. You may think. Why does he died? he got everything that he wants. But you’re missing something he got all his life ahead. He has only 27. Yes, the cursed number. Another one to join the 27 club, with many others as Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison… and many others. I still refuse to believe that he is gone now, I have been listening him all day, sobbing. Lying to myself, to make me believe that he isn’t gone for ever. Finally, my sincere condolence to his family, his friends, to Shinee, to all his SM level mates, and to all the Shawols. Let’s not forget that mental illness isn’t a joke, they are real, and we must fight TOGETHER against them. You are not alone, we aren’t alone. Let’s remember him as the bright star he was. Rest in peace sweetheart.
No, but, seriously. I don't want to draw white sculptures, look at the colours!! Way more fun.
“Draw natural” they said
