finally reunited achilles n patroclus and eurydice and orpheus. they are everything to me
-. ODYSSEUS brainrot~ Supergiant Games' Hades verse, bAYBAY ONE DRAFT, AT LEAST, I could end up scraping it for something entirely different or make 4960569854096 of these, idk-
Obviously Odysseus is exactly the type of bitch who would land his ass in Elysium, as such, he is a warrior that can be encountered in the beautiful grassy planes of the last layer of the Underworld before the temple.
BUT GET THIS... his location isn't fixed. Odysseus is never to be found at an exact chamber, in a similar fashion to Thanatos' wildly randomised spawning, Odysseus will appear at random in any given Elysium chamber (I debated putting him in the temple instead because there's one character per area,, but idk--). This for various reasons:
He is the forever wanderer, his is the Odyssey we reference when we insinuate long travels, as such he shan't cease to move in death, either.
He dies before Penelope, before Telemachus, before those he cared for, and without his family, without his wife, he is simply far too restless to sit somewhere (he's looking for them, maybe?)
He has no intentions of fucking with the other warriors or to fight, he doesn't want to meet the likes of Theseus or be roped into stopping the prince's escapes, so he keeps moving, lest someone he doesn't want to encounter shows.
I can't decide whether I'd want his presence in the next chamber to be told by the symbol on the door or to keep it Than style where you get whatever item you chose and some bonus from him, but the latter would suit the game better mayhaps.
Maybe his spawning will also be similar to Than in the sense that he alters how the encounter functions, where Than challenges, perhaps Odysseus will throw strategies at you idk-- Wily Odysseus, ya know
I'm debating, but what if he could give items as well, kind of like Patroclus' two other items (you know, besides the Kiss of Styx Premium, my eternal life-saver lmao) that affect encounters:
Lotus Wine - A lotus-tainted jug of wine that applies a Dionysus-boon-like effect to your attack that slows your enemy down and temporarily blinds them to your presence (lasts 10 encounters).
Wooden Helmet - Shaped oddly to resemble a horse, leaves you completely undetected from all enemies until you land the first hit on them (lasts 10 encounters).
Molly Bracelet - A teeny garland of molly, will apply a 20% damage resistance against witches, butterflies, poison as well as Madness boons (lasts 10 encounters).
Obviously you can give him nectar and I think his keepsake would be called something like Forlorn Travels and it looks like a little leather-bag meant to resemble Aeolus' wind bag tied close with the string of his bow and a piece of Penelope's yarn, that I THINK (still debating here) will have an effect on chambers where it will increase the chances of stumbling upon Daedalus hammers, Centaur hearts, Gems, Keys, Coins, (Darkness? mayhaps--) but lower the frequency of Boons, as though the 'winds' are guiding you (away from Gods, similar to Sisyphus' who works on attack/special/cast you don't have a boon for).
Travelling with Odysseus' keepsake (and increasing your relationship with him) will spawn interesting convos with Athena, Poseidon, and Zeus above all else, and of course Hermes whom is not only involved with Odysseus but also always knows all the tea, anyway (I love when he compliments me for beating my best time, but can he not tease me for timing myself).
His favour could have something to do with Penelope? His could be a reuniting favour like Achilles/Patroclus and Orpheus/Eurydice, but that would mean also designing Penelope's existence in the game which I'm too lazy to do. But it should be something like that.

Guys,
Family Portrait
Commission for @sieveyourtea their latest work Shadow in the Hunting Grounds part 2 of Child of Illumination!
idk if this has ever been said but I've been rewatching epic animatics and I noticed in I Can't Help But Wonder he says:
"Usdd to say I'd make the storm clouds cry for you. Used to say I'd capture wind and sky for you"
And he DID
He caused so many storms by upsetting the gods trying to get home. He went to aeolus with and got a bag of captured wind to get home.
epic musical theories!!
so if jorge told us the first 4 chants in no longer you are:
si-ren - song
scy-lla - throat
mu-tin-y
light-ning - bolt
then we can assume the next are also prophetic (which makes sense) and also 3 syllables
my guesses for atleast 1 or 2 of the other ones are
ca-lyp-so and i was gonna say ogygia but that's 4 syllables so idk that's all I got
team thanos + mina as these little aliens
