The Secret History destroyed my life like what do you mean I can't drink wine and study classical literature and spend the nights in a countryside mansion with piano echoing through the dark halls and break through the confines of humanity in a bacchanal and commit a string of murders and try to escape but eventually kill myself in a blaze of glory, ultimately shattering the lives of the people around me? That I can't escape the cognitive mode of experience and transcend the accident of my moment of being? That I can't lose my self, lose it utterly? What do you mean I can't live without thinking?
well okay then chipmunk
peeta "i'm more than just a piece in their games" mellark, katniss "we are unforgiving" everdeen, lucy gray "nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping" baird, and haymitch "they will not use my tears for their entertainment" abernathy.
SOME OF THESE ARE SO FOUL MY GOODNESS

We should talk and appreciate more how the Hanging Tree song is forever tied to Sejanus as well.
Written and sung by Lucy Gray for Coriolanus, about the place where Sejanus died. Suzanne Collins successfully tied all three Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes protagonists to what is the most important song in the entire saga, without it feeling forced
i think using under pressure in aftersun was quite literally the best choice ever. the last few verses really suit the whole movie.
im still thinking about this movie on a daily basis
If there's one thing about Sam Claflin, it's he'll always die in whatever movie he's starring in. Seriously it's like it's part of his contract or smth
oh goodness
thinking about how easily treech could have ended up like haymitch... winning the games and then self-isolating/maybe drinking as a coping mechanism. lamina is obviously his personal ghost/version of maysilee and he has to live with the guilt about how his abandonment might as well have caused her death. then years later after watching several of his tributes die despite him actually trying to help them, along comes this feisty mean sarcastic brunette girl who clearly has this vicious spark in her - basically the katniss to his haymitch, but then here she is this sobbing little girl who turns out to be talented with an axe and now johanna is also another painful reminder of lamina as well.
I swear they put something in challengers that only affects gay people because why does it only have 3.5 stars on IMDb but I’m still regularly thinking about it all these months later
so unfortunately college isn’t just about performing ancient greek rituals with your friends
