YES
Ok I can’t find it now but I saw someone suggesting the Barbie meme with these two and I just had to do it
just finished this book and AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I've read both If We Were Villains and The Secret History multiple times in the past few years and to put it lightly, they have both changed something in my brain, the way I read books, and my standard for stories.
So now I'm struggling to get back into reading literally any other book. I thought about reading a romance novel or fantasy but I often find them predictable and there's just not as much tea.
like.... I need the drama, the mystery, the incestuous plottwist, the murder, the irony, the homoerotic friendships, the dead character that haunts the narrative, the tragedy, the greek mythology, the unreliable narrator, and the shakespeare of it all.
I need more quotes that make me as insane as "I'm nothing in my soul if not obsessive" or "for us, everything was a performance. everything poetic" or "there is no comfort like complicity" or "do you blame Shakespeare for any of it?" "I blame him for all of it" or "you can justify anything if you do it poetically enough" or "how tremendous the agony of unmade decisions" or "I look at you and all the sonnets make sense" or "beauty is terror" or "were you in love with him?" "yes, I was" it's not the whole truth. the whole truth is I'm in love with him still."
the only book I can think of that comes close is The Picture of Dorian Gray, idk the vibes and the tea are there
controversial but if i live in a village n find a stray cat born in the nettles one day n i don’t have money to keep her indoors but feed her outside only and do still give her a better life than she would have had had she been left a stray,, i would be really sad if someone snatched her away without asking because I would call her MY cat
happy earth day. don’t forget that someone else’s outdoor cat is your indoor cat
I might’ve just edited this

Honestly, the most depressing thing about this entire Harry Potter fiasco is how telling it's been about people as a whole.
Like it's pretty fucked up to think that people would rather fight tooth and nail and come up with every single excuse and explanation and flimsy reasoning that they can think of so they can justify playing the shitty wizard game and giving money to the shitty TERF who actively wants trans people dead.
Like, the trans community went "Hey can you not play this mediocre wizard game that actively puts money in the pocket of a person who wants us dead, as well as endorses a franchise that'll continue to do that" and people's overwhelming response seems to be that they value their own nostalgia and apparent burning need to play the game over trans people's lives.
Can't wait for Rowling to brag a few months from now about how she's been putting all her recent income towards the 'Shoot Trans people in the streets' bill while everyone claims that it's not THEIR fault, THEY just wanted to play the funny wizard game
The fact that they casted Goldie Hawn to play her was also clearly a very thought through choice as she appears so cheerful and bubbly in the first minutes of her scenes (because of her characteristical smile and blonde hair)!!!
So glad someone else is talking about Nastya I loved her character
ok but how does no one remember nastya goncharov? plays violin and viola, katya and goncharov’s adopted daughter?!?
youd think more people would remember her, given that she sacrificed herself for katya - her MOTHER. - in the boat scene. and her death was the first time the ticking clock truly was brought into focus? iconic moment. i don’t usually cry when watching movies but when i heard the clock’s ticking reflect the song she was playing in the dinner party scene i was SOBBING.
sorry i just love nastya goncharov

Trans people (both binary and nonbinary) can be straight
Bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, and polysexual people don’t always want to be called gay, part-gay, “basically gay”, etc.
Asexual people can be heteroromantic & label themselves as straight
Aromantic people can be heterosexual & label themselves as straight
Intersex people can be straight
