Marcus and Fighting
Ok, I wanna talk about something real quick: where did the fandom belief that Marcus is aggressive come from?
Like he's not? The few scenes where we see him upset are scary, yes, but he never physically lashes out at any character in them. He slams his hands down on a table in the jail disownment scene, which is a common behavioral cue of frustration. And he looks mad... which makes sense because he's in jail! I don't think many other people would be that happy about that situation either. Yet he never hits the glass, threatens his kid physically, or raises his voice more than one time. Did he handle the situation well? No, but I wouldn't call that straight up aggressive.
He was upset and frustrated, so his body language said that. He's in an extremely stressful situation and is having to mentally process a lot. Everything is going to be big emotions for him, but that doesn't make him aggressive for feeling those.
And as for the bank robbing stuff? The nearby police didn't know of the crime until the alarm goes off. Most banks have a hidden button at every desk that deals with customers that alerts police silently of a robbery. The fact that the nearby police were clueless means that button was not pressed and therefore the people in the bank likely didn't see them either. They didn't hurt anyone.
And then, when they were caught by cops later in the movie? They didn't even try to run, let alone fight. Marcus, along with the others turned himself in without any fuss. Not what you would expect if someone was a violent and aggressive criminal.
And as for in the second movie? Neither Marcus, Stan, or Barry throw the first punch. In fact, they only act defensively. They're trying to keep the guards out of the theatre. That's it. They don't go out of their way to attack Suki or Jerry when they are just standing there because they aren't posing threats to the troupe. And the gang was just defending them, not going out and picking fights.
See? Jerry was fine, despite clearly being a Crystal employee. If Marcus or any of the others had been trying too hurt people, he would have been hurt. But they left him alone.
They even wait to make sure that the guards are going to attack them and only move when they do, going by school rules of "never throw the first punch and make sure you have witnesses to prove you didn't". Technically, since they did that, they could argue self-defense.
And they did also give them the chance to just walk away as well, gently pushing Jimmy away when he tries to get in.
Sure, Marcus enjoys boxing. But that doesn't mean he's an aggressive guy. I did years of martial arts and was pretty good at it but I still flinch when I see people get paper cuts and avoid conflict like the plague. It was just a sport I liked. The same is probably true with Marcus.
Besides, we see Johnny do boxing as well and I don't think anyone could possibly ever call that ball of anxious energy stuffed inside a theatre kid's body aggressive.
Marcus is not actually committing acts of outright aggression in the two moments that he's commonly marked as being aggressive in. Instead he's upset/frustrated and protective. He never actually harms a character without an actual reason to do so, with the only reason we see being his son potentially being hurt. He's not aggressive, he's just a parent with emotions.

Those two moments where: You start to ship them or you start wishing you had a friendship like that.
Johnny is so hot in his jacket but more hot when he is in his tank top. But I prefer Big Daddy/Marcus in a tank top in my opinion.
PS: I Love big daddy/Marcus and Johnny. Especially when the hug each other. It just makes my day and melts my heart.

Do you have an absolute favorite storyboard or concept art from either Sing movies?
I'm so sorry for the delay in response to this!! I love a ton of the concept art actually, so idk if I would be about to pick just one favourite piece, but I do have a favourite storyboard actually!
Here it is:
I absolutely love this one for numerous reasons:
One: Marcus. I adore his and Johnny's relationship and how it's shown here. I also love the aspects of his personality that we gets to see in this (him being punctual, polite, and overall really nice).
Two: Nooshy's essentially getting immediately adopted and becoming part of the family. Hugs = adoption in Sing and no one can change my mind so that was absolutely adorable.
Three: The fact that the gang got turned into Robin Hood in my eyes. Like, they stole from the rich... and are now giving to the poor... they're Robin Hood.
Four: REALISM. This version of them prepping for the show was a ton more realistic, especially after such a rough and public firing. It also reminded me of them setting up the show if Sing 1 which was nice.
Five: RYAN MY BOY! It was already heavily implied that Ryan and the other dancers snuck out to help with the show (hence Klaus not arriving with them and being surprised), but now him also swiping the staffs too?? Perfection. That boy just went “oh well, probably gonna get fired anyway, might as well help Johnny” and I love that for him and it shows so much of his personality. He is so sweet.
Six: More slang. As someone who also uses a ton of British slang in day to day life and calls my friends "love", hearing Marcus use more slang was adorable and super cool. It also means that Johnny probably talks with more slang than we see him do, at least with his family.

hey can you write a fanfiction where: BD was released from jail and then went to a concert by Johnny?
Yes, sir! I will do that! Incoming fluff!
He couldn't be any more excited. His son is performing and he gets released the day of his son's performance and it's his son's birthday. BD didn't want Johnny to know he got out of prison yet as he made his way towards the exit of the prison. He'd served his time and he's never going to come back.
The first thing he wanted to do was call the theater. He wrote down the number Johnny gave him and called the place.
"Hello?" An unfamiliar voice spoke, which BD was hoping was Johnny's boss.
"Eh, is this Mr. Moon?" BD asked carefully.
"Yeah, it's me. Who's this?"
BD smiled widely. "This is Johnny's father."
"Ah, I heard so much about you from your son."
"Yeah, yeah, I heard about you too. I was released from prison today and I was wondering if you...well, I was wondering if you could let me see my son backstage for the performance tonight...just as a surprise. It's his birthday today. I know this is last minute, but--"
The huge gorilla could sense a wide smile from his son's boss.
"We could do that. Johnny's going to be gone for his birthday lunch with the gang in twenty minutes. Do you think that we could meet up?"
BD nodded his head. "Yes, Yes, of course!"
"Alright, I'll see you later."
"Alright, bye!"
BD hung up the phone with pure excitement in his eyes. He wasn't expecting Johnny's boss to be so kind and willing to help. From what Johnny had been telling him about his boss had been true all along.
Twenty minutes later passed by as BD snuck into the theater with Johnny gone.
When he approached the auditorium room as a short koala with a blue suit and red bowtie sat on stage.
The koala's blue eyes went wide in shock. "Oh, you must be Johnny's father."
"Yes."
"Wow, sorry, forgive my bewilderment. I just never met anyone who's...well, gigantic."
BD chuckled a bit. "Well, I never met anyone who's short. You must be Mr. Moon?"
The koala laughed a bit with a nod. "Yeah, that's me."
BD looked around the stage. "I just want to see my son perform and I want to surprise him."
Buster smiled ecstatically. "I think I got a plan."

Hours passed by as Johnny was the last to perform. Johnny was waiting patiently while looking out into the auditorium with a sigh. Meena was just done with her performance as she rubbed his arm.
"Okay, you're up next," Meena informed gently.
"Okay, thanks, Meena." Johnny went up and moved his piano.
Meena smiled widely at the gorilla.
"Psst, Meena!!"
Meena turned to see Buster gesturing her further backstage. The elephant went further into the dark as she gasped a bit. But it's more of a happy gasp than a shocked gasp.
Johnny was playing the chords of the piano while singing his best. BD managed to watch this from backstage with a bright smile at his son. For so long, he shunned his son from showing his talent but when he finally saw Johnny's beautiful singing voice and his fingers playing on the keys. A proud smile came upon the huge gorilla's face.
He remembered his wife had that same beautiful voice as his son. She's the one who taught Johnny how to play piano as a young child. There's one thing that BD knew for sure, Johnny's got his mother's spirit up on stage and off stage.
As soon as the performance ended, everyone gave loud applause and whistles. Johnny stood up from his seat. A plastered smile was kept on the gorilla's face but it couldn't mask what he's feeling inside.
"Whoa, hold up, Johnny, don't leave the stage yet!" Buster approached the stage with a microphone and a big showman grin.
Johnny perked his head while tilting his head.
Buster turned to the audience. "Today is Johnny's birthday!"
This earned a cheer from the audience as Johnny blushed in embarrassment.
"And since it's his birthday, he's gonna get a surprise gift!" Buster announced grandly.
Johnny chuckled, thinking it's a huge cake or something grand. But he was soon wrong...it's even grander than he expected.
BD came out of backstage with a black glittering tuxedo and into the light of the show.
"Hello, son."
Everyone cooed, some animals almost teared up while some were smiling at this.
Johnny had his eyes widened as tears came from his eyes. "Dad?"
BD nodded as the young gorilla zoomed towards his father without even worrying about the gazes of the audience. Johnny buried his face into his father's chest while sobbing happily onto BD's shoulder.
BD wrapped his strong arms around his son with a soft smile. He glanced over at the koala while mouthing 'Thank you'.
Buster nodded his head as everyone out in the auditorium sang happy birthday to Johnny, including his theater friends, who came out and joined the hug.
Buster smiled warmly at the theater crew as Johnny broke away from his father along with the theater gang.
BD caressed his son's face. "I'm so proud of you."
Johnny smiled, still teary-eyed. "Thanks, Dad."
